Note that the search indexing isn't done processing yet, but I don't know if what you are saying about how you must add a search keyword when searching for an author is true.  Try posting in the Questions and Answers section.

You can thank Invision for that. There is probably a 3rd party thingy to get search working right again, but Albert may not add it if people keep acting like they have sand in their countries.

Thanks for your positive message, that's always helpful.  We didn't "ruin" the forum search, and you're exaggerating quite a bit by stating "but make sure to change it anyway and remove all the things that make search useful."  You can go to someone's profile to see all of their content, and narrow it down by just posts if that's all you want to see.  I do agree it would be useful to search by author and additional text, and I'm going to see if I can get that added back in.  That's not something I've had to use very often, though (usually when I do I'm trying to find something I wrote, as opposed to someone else). 

At the moment I just changed the search engine to a third-party engine that is less resource intensive than using the MySQL engine, but the search index has to be rebuilt, which is happening now.  So you won't get proper results until that's finished.
