I have a system changer and a box of atari games I got with it, but I never used, other than to check that the system changer still functioned.

Dude! Awesome to see you post here. Hope we'll see you again and maybe you can answer the mystery about the Best Buy pick up all those years ago. Lol
There was unfortunately no Spiker in that batch, but hey on the bright side I rescued an intellivision from near death.
-
I am still around, real life hit me by suprise and hard a few years back and I sort of took a break from everything. Things are finally stabilizing in my life so hopefully I can be active in the Intelliworld again.

I Want to apologize to atgames and good deal games for my recent rant and those other involved behind the scence. I dont want to discuss what I learned behind the scence and who is affected, so that It can end soon. My passion for Intellivision got the best of me and it actually took a toll on some friends of my in the Intellivision community. So My apology to everyone I hurt with my rant. If a mod could delete the thread I started please do so, because I dont kno how to do that..

I don't consider willful theft a choice.
you dont think thiscould be considered a donation to the INTV community?

They did no such thing. Stop acting like a whiny toddler.
AtGames made a business deal to secure the rights to the game, for release on their products. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that. Exclusivity deals happen all the time. You talk as if you're entitled to the game, but the reality of the situation is quite the opposite.
You were never entitled to a copy. If you had paid for a copy and didn't receive it because of the AtGames exclusivity terms, then you'd at least have a legit reason to complain. You did no such thing and yet you've decided that AtGames has done you wrong. I'm no AtGames fan, as their products are generally subpar, but this is just silly.
If you want to complain about something regarding this situation, do so regarding the developer who made the deal with AtGames for choosing to go that router rather than have a larger cart launch. Although that line of argument only continues to make you look selfish.
Bottom line is that if you want to play the game, you have a few choices:
- Wait for AtGames to release the game on a Flashback unit and purchased it
- Buy a copy off eBay
- Wait for the exclusivity rights with AtGames to expire, when the developer might decide to do another cart run of the game
You missed a choice. I can offer someone who got the cart $ 2000 for it, then have it sacrificed in China to be cloned and dumped.

-
Apparently not. Pretty surprised at the low price.
Im missing that game, I missed a good deal

Learn to live with the fact that you can't have everything made. I did and it makes things much better. There are a few games for the intellivision that I missed out on but I'm not boycotting the author. In the grand scheme of life it's just not that big a deal. BTW I could have bought one this weekend but decided not to. No interest for me.
I personally dont have every game, there are a few i dont have, but it will still be nice to see this game dumped for those who wanted it.
-
. Some will inevitably end up on eBay, but mine will stay in my collection.
if it ends up on ebay and i get it, im sending it to china to have dumped and or cloned and will ask them to put it in all rom sites if dumped. Teach these guys a lesson, if they wanna sue me, bring it..... And good luck trying to serve me in The Artic.

Was just informing. :-)
Didnt want to start a boycott! Haha But yeah, 30 is a way to small amount.
Send them a message dont buy a flashback.., The best way to get back at a business is to not buy their junk..... or even better get some one to dump the rom and uploaded to a rom site.
-
I'm a little confused as to who is to blame for this sort of thing. I hate hate HATE low run convention exclusives like this, but who developed the game and put it on cart? Was this the much hyped secret game Good Deal Games was bringing? Who signs an agreement with ATGames that limits it to 30 on the off chance the Flashback sells well enough for a volume 2. From the point view of a collector, this whole thing is a recipe for alienating your fan base and biggest word of mouth boosters.
Atgames is a business, they should have released enough for Intellivision fans or not at all. Dont buy the flash back. wend them a message. I cancelled my pre orders. The hell with crappy companies that do this to their fans. Get the rom on a rom site.
-
Having always had an Intellivision but never a Colecovision I was considering picking up that Flashback, but that's not happening now.
I never taught the day would come when I would tell someone not to buy an Intellivision product but this is a first..l Im not buying a flashback. Atgames spit in every hobbyist face who could not make it to cge. I hope one of the 30 that they relase makes it to a rom site.
-
Atgames is a business…plain and simple. I think that sums it up. They bought the rights to Blix, and for that reason, I am amazed that 30 copies were made available at all.
I was not able to go to CGE, but I can live with that. If I needed that game terribly, I could have asked (begged) someone to pick it up for me. That, or I could always buy it for $1000 on eBay in a week. Thankfully, I can easily live without a homebrew which the publishers described as "having audio problems on some consoles". As far as I am concerned, I don't need that one.
PS: How much do you want to bet they will wait till this game is hyped up through the roof (by threads like this and the others already posted), and then offer it up for sale for $70 to $90…just saying.
I cancelled my orders for the flashbacks. Im not buying their products.
-
As soon as the ROM has been dumped everyone can make his own cartridge. All you need is a Mattel cartridge and an EPROM. Costs $1.80 and 2 minutes.
Lol im not that skilled to burn a rom.. But I hope blix ends up on a rom site now... unless Atgames makes it right, they dont deserve any business, Cancel your flash back orders bookcott atgame products. Join the fight, tell Atgames release more blix carts for Intellivision fans...

So shitty homebrews for $75 are ok, but when At Games licenses a game and sells it together with their Flashback for less that's not ok?
Try to buy the blix game. Also if you dont want to pay 75 for a homebrew, you protest by not buying their product. In this case im boycotting atgames until they make it right release more carts for those who could not make it to cge.
-
How was Blix sold - was it cart only or CIB? Cmart what goodies did you pick up - anyone else? Hope you all had a great time & hope to meet you all next time!
Does not matter, you cant get one, atgames did not want you to have one. They knew they should have made a run of 150, but they prefered to spit in the face of those who could not attend, i cancelled my pre orders of the flashback. I say we all boycott their stuff, until they make it right and make a run of at least 120 more carts for fans on Intellivision. Join the boycott dont buy atgame products until they make it right.
-
I cancelled my pre orders of the flash back, im not supportting atgames anymore. They spit in peoples face who wanted the blix game and could not attend cge.
-
I cancelled my pre orders. Im not buying Atgame products anymore. Join the boycott, cancel your orders. Atgames is a business, they spit in the face of those who wanted the blix games and couldnt make it to cge.... Join the boycott, cancel your pre orders and dont buy their products.

Except for pre-orders that I already honored in buying, that was it for me in buying CIB homebrews or rom releases. I thought, doing such limited releases for a specific group of customers, in this case CGE attendees, where afterwards 50% land on eBay for financing the miserable small lives of some speculators, was a thing of the past. Seems, that I was wrong but I won't pay $300 for a homebrew that I missed no more. Time to go and actually enjoy my collection instead of getting up in the middle of the night and wait for a pre-order thread to be started

Ah, the relief...
Best way to protest, is not buy @game products. Join the boycott.
-
Not sure if you are serious or not!?
I am serious i cancelled the flashback pre orders. im not buying and at games products...
-
Limited to 30, and only if you could get cross country to Vegas? I am not amused...

Perhaps its a good idea to boycott the purchase of any atgame products.... Boycott, I cancelled my preorders! Boycott @gmaes

Hi everybody. I joined AtariAge last month and have corresponded with a few members about Intellivision stuff, but I thought it was about time that I posted an introduction and said hello to everyone.
Though I graduated from college, got a job, and bought an Intellivision in 1980, I only recently rediscovered the system and have been thoroughly enjoying it, both on real hardware and in emulation. My original console went black screen in about 1988, but I kept it, figuring I could eventually repair it. Well, that didn't go so well this spring, but in the process of trying, I found out that Intellivision has experienced continued interest and development all these years, especially the last few. And then, of course, there's eBay. So I've picked up copies of games I never had or even knew about. And the best thing is that most are way cheaper than they were in 1982! With the help of Tennis, Spiker, and Chip Shot, I've even managed to win my wife over, thus providing me with an opponent for the sports games.
I've been following the discussions on this forum about the hardware and games now available and coming soon, compiling my wish list. Though I'm not trying to build a collection, even the discussions about collecting have been interesting to read. You guys are a fun, interesting, and lively bunch. I'm catching up on The Intellivisionaries podcasts. And I'm trying to make some small contributions to the cause with the skills that I've got.
So thanks for being here, everybody. One question, though: does The Intv Brotherhood have any kind of bizarre initiation ritual I should be aware of?

Mark
Yes, you must renounce Craptari and Craplecovision.
