  1. First day I logged into Home: "Wow. What a disappointment." Last day Home was online: "Wow. What a disappointment. Why do I have to download 3GB of data to stand in the mall for 10 mins before I log off and uninstall?" It had so much potential, but in the end it was all for naught.
  2. I have a 160GB PS3 thru HDMI that I run my PS1 on. For the few PS2 games that I have, I keep a very-late-model silver Slim PS2 thru component hooked up. Cant beat the texture smoothing on the late model slims.
  3. Metal Gear NES played well enough for a lot of people to like it - even if it BUTCHERED the source material. Personally, I like Snake's Revenge. Konami NES soundtracks are great. I think its better that Metal Gear 2 stayed in Japan - you wouldnt have been able to put that type of game on a console, even during the 16-bit days, and if it were released for DOS PCs during that time it wouldve been laughed at.
  4. The PCE has gotten very expensive in the last couple of years. Its a shame, too, as that it my favorite system for shooters. Get a Duo-R or Duo-Rx. You can play HuCards and CD games, you wont need the system card (only the arcade card for Sapphire and some other games), and you can play US or JP CD games. If youre going to play Street Fighter II, invest in a 6 button pad (I preferred the Avenue 6), and for Forgotten Worlds get the Avenue 3-button pad (for whatever reason, I've had trouble playing that game with the 6-button pad, and the stock pad is ridiculous to use with that game.). If you get card games and dont care about the cases, you can get a regular 3-ring binder and a few pages of baseball card sleeves. Its like looking through a catalog and finding the game you want to play. A shelf full of PCE cases is dead sexy, too, tho.
  5. It would be awesome if you could actually "edit" the space - make it into a "dream arcade" or re-create one from years ago. Very cool idea nonetheless
  6. My Genesis/SCD/32X. Add the fact that I can still use the Power Base Converter, and it encapsulates everything wrong/right with gaming when I was growing up in the 90's.
  7. It wasnt finding my already-installed games either - I just un-installed them (kept the save files) and reinstalled them in the client. Went smooth as silk. The games I have (save for Duke Nukem, but I play that through a source port anyway) are predominately 1-player, otherwise I'd try the multiplayer and see if that works. I like it, but it's got a ways to go.
  8. My advice to anyone that wants a Neo-Geo, but are complaining that the prices are too damn high: http://atariage.com/forums/topic/237674-next-flashback-consoles/?p=3233982

  9. You'll never get it. As long as the "allure" of the Neo is there, the prices will always be ridiculous. Even damaged bare consoles with no hookups or controllers will hover in the $200-$250 range. For the MVS, multicarts should NOT cost you more than $90. Anything higher than that and you're a damn fool. One of the reasons the AES ones are so expensive is that the MVS-AES converters (which are priced somewhere around $300 themselves) are hit-or-miss with multicarts. My advice: If youre dead-set FOR an AES, get the cheapest most beat-up system you can find. Even if its cracked, broken, stepped-on, no controllers/hookups, no games, whatever. Ask around different forums/communities for what the most common games are. Scour eBay and the second hand market for cart-only games (If $$$ is an issue, then cases and instructions are out of the question as they only increase prices). Alternatively, go the MVS route - your options are much more varied: -If you have an arcade cabinet that uses the JAMMA standard, do some research on how to wire it so that you can USE the MVS motherboard without shorting out your power supply http://www.hardmvs.com is a great site for that info. -Buy a consolized MVS. These will run you anywhere from around $200 to around $400 depending on the quality and options. http://www.jamma-nation-x.com/jammax/ is a great place to look. Xian Xi (from the NG.com forums) is an absolutely indispensable resource for CMVS stuff, and his work is always top-notch. Options (memory card slot, video connections, bell and whistles, etc.) will affect the price, but I also know that he wont be building CMVS's for very much longer. JNX is not the defacto standard in buy a CMVS, but its at the top of the list for options on where to get them. -Build one yourself. With a little know-how and some research, you too can build a Neo-Geo. You would still have to source the motherboard (stick with a 1 or 2 slot, as anything else, so I've heard, can give you some trouble once consolized), but they're much easier to locate than a cheap AES. My advice, for what its worth, would be to get a two-slot board and follow the step by step guide on jamma-nation-x.com. Once again, indispensable. When buying MVS games, stop the madness here and now and DONT USE EBAY AS A PRICE GUIDE. Forums are much better, IMO, because its an established community of PLAYERS, not flippers, scammers, hoarders, or resellers, and prices are more akin to a games ACTUAL worth as opposed to what its worth RIGHT NOW (and you also gain some knowledge on who to AVOID when buying games). I like the early releases myself, and they just happen to be the more cheaper, common games, and they STILL play better than anything that's come out for the modern consoles. Parting shot with MVS: Get a UniBios. Switch it to "console" mode. You're now playing an AES game. See how easy that was?
  10. It wasn't when I posted that. That's a damn good deal nonetheless. GLWTS.
  11. I wish people would stop sacc'ing carts for reproductions/homebrews/horrible ideas. Part of the reason the hobby isn't fun anymore - prices are going up because EVERYTHING is starting to get scarce.
  12. Spider-Man - 2600 Had this since I "inherited" the 2600 from my dad.
  13. I've had my Saturn since 96, and its still holding up like a champ. Ive had my DC since 99, and that still works like the day I got it. I remember hearing horror stories about the 3DO all the way back to its initial release. Owned one BRIEFLY a few years back and was severely disappointed, but that's a matter of taste I guess.
  14. I've owned a CoreGrafx and a Duo-R. The Duo-R will give you much more bang for your buck. It works with the Everdrive and will play burned CD-Rs for the more expensive titles (and the SuperHu, which predates the Everdrive).
  15. Can we add this guy? http://atariage.com/forums/topic/216427-gone/ He clearly just wants to off load games for $$$ and move on. I wish he would just move on.
  16. Of course you will! The marketplace is CLEARLY yours to abuse. Fucking leech.
  17. Some console versions have slight roster differences not just between arcade and home, but also between the different ports. Personally, as a Celtics fan, I prefer the Sega CD version, because Dee Brown and Dominique Wilkins are in it, and they're also in Jam TE which is a plus.
  18. 8 posts, selling super-expensive REPRODUCTIONS... How this hasn't gotten flagged/deleted/shit on is nothing short of a miracle. GLWTS!
