  1. The 32-bit systems are the last systems that can be considered "retro". That term is irrelevant when it concerns anything post-32-bit.
  2. 3DO CD-i XB360 XBONE PS4 Any Nintendo console after the SNES (aside from Virtual Boy ::swoon: Any nintendo handheld after the GBA Mac
  3. Wasn't this thing supposed to be the "Game Boy killer", along with the Lynx and Game Gear
  4. They tend to show a lot of the more expensive games for a system, like they're more showing off the more expensive games that they own. Example: there was an episode about Genesis shooters, and one of the (if not the first) games was Cotton. They just HAD to remind us how hard it is to find and how expensive it is, and also how much he paid for it. THAT BEING SAID, the videos are actually very well made, although the dialogue is very forced and wooden. A guilty pleasure of mine is to smoke a bowl or two and start up a few videos, as they tend to be a little on the long side (the Sega CD ep was almost 40 min.). I appreciate the obvious Sega bias. Everyone has their taste. I, for one, don't like Gamester81's videos, however, I'm grossly outnumbered in that respect. AVGN also lost its luster in recent years.
  5. It plays fine. Kills your thumb, tho. I would definitely recommend picking one up for a lot of the racers, tho. Alternatively, spend the $$$ one the Saturn wheel. I bought one brand new back in the day and it still works like a champ.
  6. Its about as close as youre going to get
  7. Gekioh's music will not play on the PS3 for some reason - Ive tried my copies on 4 of them and none play music. I dont know how the DL-able version fares, I havent bought that release. I'd be curious to know, tho. My PS1 plays the disc perfectly, so Im sure its just a playback problem. AFAIK, there are a few PS1 games that dont play 100% correctly on PS3s - MK Trilogy also hangs at a black screen after you beat the last opponent in single-player
  8. If you play 1v1 in the 1P game and beat it, you'd still get the same endings as if you played it in 3v3.
  9. KOF95 is pure class all the way. My favorite KOF.
  10. You should listen to them. For the time being, the most expensive part about the MVS is the actual hardware - a cheap no-frills board is around $200-$350 depending on what its modded for and whether or not its a single or multi-slot board. Some multi-slots are finicky, so do your research. If THATS too cost-prohibited, and you dont mind doing some work yourself, buy a non-consolized one-slot board (go to hardmvs.com to see what boards may suit you.), build a Supergun, and play it that way. For the time being, you can get a lot of good games for cheap money. I'm partial to a lot of the early releases myself. CMVS + Unibios = same as AES, just not asthetically appealing.
  11. Got my Saturn with the "3 Free Games" deal back in the day. It was perfect because all three of those games (Daytona, Virtua Cop, Virtua Fighter 2) were my favorites in the arcade. I didnt need to ask for a new game until the following X-Mas. Flash forward to today and the system still works. Sega knew how to build them.
  12. I liked the rainbow banding when i was a kid - it made the waterfalls in Sonic 1 look really nice. I thought it made a lot of the games seem more vibrant.
  13. Figured I'd ask, seeing as how theres clearly a US bill just chiling on the floor in that picture.
  14. How much cash do you have just lying around your house?
  15. A friend of mine converted a GG Aleste 2 for me a while back. Definately bolsters the ol' SMS library.
  16. http://youtu.be/xdY4EKAcW4Q They didnt F this up at all.
  17. Mega Turrican was the first one that I played - up until that point I had heard about the series through GamePro and EGM. I remember Universal Solider coming out, but even back then i knew to stay FAR away from movie-licsensed games. I find Turrican to be one of those series that I could appreciate more the older I got, especially with the music. Yeah, its decidedly European, but I found enough in those games to keep me interested. Gun-Lord on the DC/NG is a great Turrican clone that I would reccomend giving an honest shot to.
  18. The charm in this system is in its early titles... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AhHAmItXCH0
  19. -I'll ship to the lower 48 only -Established US members only -PayPal gift or Paypal +4% Up for sale is the Big Boss Peace Walker PSP. It's in fantastic shape, as I really only used this to play PW on my TV. the screen is bright and beautiful. The SD card that it comes with is a 4GB. I'm also throwing in the component cables so you can actually play it on your TV/monitor, and the pre-order bandana (not worn ) Theres two download cards in the box - one for PW stuff and the other for the movie "2012". I used the DL for the Fox shirt, but not for the Co-Op weapon, and the movie download is expired I think. $150 shipped
  20. I don't think anyone has mentioned this yet... http://www.classicplastic.net/dvgi/periDUOenginestick-02.jpg I recently got a chance to play on the pce stick... Same build as the advantage. I thought it was very sturdy, and was still accommodating to my now adult-size hands
