  1. Awesome! I don't know most of these, so I'll have to research before letting you know.
  2. Yeah, mount the internal US so slots are exposed. You can probably find some pictures to give you ideas.
  3. After reading this thread just now, I was wondering: is there a status page on the development of FireBee features? Like a checklist that gets updated as breakthroughs are made? Or do we have to read every FireBee thread and parse through all the information? (I love reading these forums, but it's hard to keep everything straight in my head!)
  4. I recall reading somewhere the other day that there were problems writing over 32mb, though. I don't know if it applies to this combination of software/partitions/hardware/etc. I think the thread is over here: http://www.atari-for...=17697&start=50 Is this something we need to be careful about? Or is that old thread something that doesn't apply to us now? edit: I'm not up to speed on all this stuff - I'm trying to understand everything, but I might be just asking dumb questions! haha
  5. I have a pretty basic setup, an STE running Geneva & NeoDesk4. I will be experimenting with others, though. How do I take screenshots?
  6. I just read the entire new pphdr page (is this what we should call it?) and I think it looks great. I didn't realize it was a project started in 1996. Folks, this is already a mature product! Lotharek has also stated that he's working with him, so I'm feeling very confident now. I'll be purchasing it later today.
  7. I'm looking forward to this also. I love Atari gaming!
  8. I still want to try the PP driver and give my support to him. I know it's not going to be as mature right away as HDDRIVER, but if people buy it and give feedback it will get there. We all understand that Uwe's software and support are great, so I'm not protesting and saying I won't support him. I will keep his software in mind as a 2nd option. I did think it through rather thoroughly and decided that I felt $25-30 would be a fair price for a product as good as HDDRIVER. But keep in mind that Uwe charges for major version updates, too. Seems to me that $50-60 should include lifetime updates. Just my opinion.
  9. I'm going to wait and see what Pera Putni's driver is like. For 10 euros (verses 44) and perhaps helping some new competition for UltraSatan drivers, I don't mind trying it out!
  10. You guys need to read the comments on this YouTube video. There's an expert describing how to repair ST Books, and he goes into such detail that you KNOW he has experience. He goes by "simeon webber". Check it out: He posted his e-mail address in one of the comments... sim@azurehalo.co.uk I hope that helps!
  11. Holy cow, that's awesome! I've been thinking how nice it would be to use a modern TV or monitor instead of my little 12"er... and wondering what I would do if my original color monitors ever broke. They're expensive to replace!
  12. I took this from the README in the demo version:
  13. Good question, Official Ninja. I would also like to know how the demo is limited. Skarro, I found this here:
  14. That said, a network adapter can be a fine way of transferring files between different systems!
  15. Correct me if I'm wrong, but NetUSBee doesn't support mass storage devices (flash memory), only mouse & maybe keyboard.
  16. I was thinking the same thing. Or do like Ahead Software used to do with their Nero Burning ROM. They bundled an "OEM" trimmed down copy of their product that was coded to only work with the particular drive model it was bundled with. You could upgrade to the full version, and got a decent discount for upgrade-from-OEM pricing. I would love something like that. HDDRIVER getting its foot in the door would win over a lot of ICD Pro users, too.
  17. Ok, thanks. Maybe I'm overreacting, I wish all this info was readily available in an FAQ somewhere. It can be hard to find it by scouring the forums. I'll probably upgrade my TOS versions some day. For now, I think I'll wait for the US to arrive and use a Linux machine to transfer software around.... and see how my Atari's handle things. After that, I may just purchase your driver. What do you call it? Let me know when you have a web page for it!
  18. Oh, dear. I have an UltraSatan on the way now. I had to call a budget-meeting and convince my wife to allow the US $166 on it (actually I told her it was just-over-$100... I'll be in trouble when she sees my miscalculation). Now I open this thread and learn that my STF with TOS 1.0 isn't compatible. I still have my STE w/TOS 1.06, but the ICD Pro software, which came bundled with my AdSCSI-Plus ST card, isn't going to work well or easily? Like many others here, I would like to purchase HDDRIVER, but with the current exchange rate, it's $56.34! I don't want to be negative or dismiss Ewe's handiwork/value, but that price seems inappropriately high to me. I pride myself in supporting entrepreneurs, but I still have to watch my spending and be accountable to my family. I read everything on Lotharek's website, where he says, and I quote "drivers: ICD PRO (free) and HDDRIVER (commercial) compatible". I also didn't see anything about needing TOS 1.02 or 1.04 at a minimum.
  19. I found this page, Mario Becroft's old web site, which is down now, but using The Wayback Machine, you can still see the archive: http://web.archive.org/web/20130117212531/http://gem.win.co.nz/mb/atarihw/ide.html
