  1. I've been playing violent games ever since I was a kid. I remember buying Carmageddon for $50 new with my mom, the guy at the counter told her all about what goes on in the game, and she let me get it anyways. Not because shes irresponsible, and not because she wasn't listening to the guy, but because she knew that I could handle it. I've played Mario to GTA, and nothing has screwed me up so badly that I'm uber violent and want to run over people with my car, go find some hookers to kill, or shoot people with rocket launchers. I think that is someone is sooo screwed up in the head that 'a videogame made me do it!' is their response, then a movie or tv show or music could have 'done' the same. Ratings are a useful tool to be used at the parents' discresion. Its NOT 'you MUST BE over 18 to play this game', its a suggestion.
  2. The games I have online are Amplitude (Frequency USED to be online...), Champions of Norrath, and Need for Speed Underground 2. I want to get Burnout 3, the 2nd Champions game, and DDR Extreme 2 once it comes out will have online play.
  3. Well, if you're into fighters, Marvel vs. Capcom 2 is awesome, as are both Guilty Gear X games. For music games (that dont require any extra controller) you could go with Frequency, then its sequal Amplitude, both solid, plus Rez, but that goes without saying. For action RPG's/dungeon crawlers, you should go with the first Baulders (sp?) Gate game, and both Champions games (..of Norrath, and .. Return to Arms)
  4. You can only beta test if you have an online adapter, atleast back when I 'was' on it. Probably still the same.
  5. I take my PS2 online all the time, but I just need to get more online enabled games, I think I have a total of 3.
  6. When I went to go play Counterstrike today, an update came up, and it said that this will be avalible through the Steam system... I guess their piracy protection really is going to be the industry standard now. Good for people who pay, bad for piraters.
  7. I was once on it, but I stopped getting stuff in the mail like, a year ago. But I also just got another email, and joined it again. I guess I can be the first person ever with two of those certificates =P
  8. YES! Finally! Thats good news, I also thought Ritual was dead. /Hopes for a sequal to Heavy Metal F.A.K.K. 2
  9. Yeah, you want to look at the black thing right next to it. The x-box looking thing is an x-box dev unit. And uh... cool, I guess. I'm sure we'll see these on eBay in a few years going for mega bucks.
  10. I played one, so I didn't have to pay for it, and it was awhile after it came out. I thought it was pretty cool at that time, and it WAS fun. But the price (when it came out) is what damned it, I think.
  11. Yeah, atleast in DA you bought them from the Krypt. www.gamefaqs.com Thats where I found what was in all the Koffins in DA, so I'm sure they have it for Deception as well.
  12. The early MK games SUCK as fighting games. They just arent that fun. They rely on pre-made combos to win, and thats more of a memorization thing then a fighting game. The blood and gore was the only thing they had going for them. But the two newest MK games, those are fun and pretty good fighters.
  13. I know some people are going to bitch to no end about this, but too bad. If you have something old that dosnt support DX9, you need to get a new card. Plain and simple. I'm also fairly certain this isnt the first game that requires a DX9 or higher card, but it may be the first to totally close you out from the game if you dont. That is why you always need to look at the requirements for your games, even if you think you have the top of the line system, that can (and often does) change very quickly. /is still running a 1.8 P4. Baaaaad.
  14. Yeah, because the GTA games are of such poor quality and all
  15. I've played that before. Very fun game. I played through like, half of it and got bored with it though.
  16. I got my N64 for xmas I think the year it came out. I was a young'n then, so that means it was poorly treated. So yes, my Reset button is in the permanent DOWN position. If I ever pick up a Nintedo security screwdriver, I'd be sure to fix it. But I dont plan on getting one anytime soon.
  17. I had that game back in the hay-day of my NES. I played the hell out of it, as everyone did with their small collection of games. If you do go pick it up, and end up not wanting it, I'll pay the $3 plus shipping. It'l bring back some memories. EDIT Now that I think about, I remember that the game wouldnt work on my NES, so I had to go next door and play it. Over time, we realized that we should just swap our NES's so we dont have to deal with it anymore. Worked out in the end.
  18. I only played the demo, but I played the hell out of it. Back then, I looked for a copy, but couldnt find one. And now its a $40+ game. Yay.
  19. The game is tough. Get over it you guys. Its an awesome game, and even cooler that the 'little guy' can make a badass game (plus, it helps that I've been a member of NG for 5+ years)
  20. Well, I downloaded a 'new' classic, Mr.Driller on my phone, and its great. Exactly like the arcade game, and I love it. I also got the Metal Slug game. Dont buy it, that game SUCKS!
  21. Wow, this game is really cool. Heh, I was going to suggest DX-Ball. I bought that and all the little expansions they put out, and I just may buy this game as well...
  22. Isnt there a 3rd party PS2 controller that you can switch around all 4 parts of it into whatever layout you want? I'm pretty sure I've seen one of these, so why cant nintendo do the same thing, only include different types of things to put in. A-Pads, D-Pad, (for all 4 systems) A B (NES) AB XY (SNES) (AB C directions (N64) and that.... GC thing... and then just have the sholder buttons like a GC and it would work fine.
  23. I dont even think that the Revolution can be concidered yet, because AFAIK, the specs arent even out for it yet, so I dont know what to look for. Also, nothing has been shown game wise, so again...
