The unreleased Atari "5200 Jr." (a.k.a. the 5100 model no. CX5100) I mentioned in my previous post.

Please also note that if and when you do decide to put one out or do development on one, that please make sure that you incorporate a 4-port BIOS in her for full compatibility with all existing and future 5200 titles and also that she will fully support all future and current homebrews and both generations of the Atarimax Ultimate SD multicart and the 128-in-1 cart and USB cart too.

Both released versions are VERY big. I got the 2 controller port version at a very decent price but if this version was released, I'd have bought it instead.

7800 controllers work fine in the 2600+.

I think what Giles was getting at is if they're fully compatible, meaning that both buttons will function differently.

    Ok.

I misread and didn't realize insertclevernamehere was talking about controllers, so if they don't cost over $35, shipping isn't free, though amazon.com would charge import fees that would bump up the price, so there's that.

The early popularity of the 2600+ opens the door to making more controller types. I can't promise anything, but the desire is there.

I certainly hope so. You can't play two button 7800 games with the joystick supplied with the system. I'm sure original 7800 controllers are compatible but it would be nice to have brand new and affordable controllers, especially the d-pad controllers, which are quite expensive.

What country? I can find out if distribution is planned for that market ... at least near term.

My country is listed but the payment method I normally use isn't accepted there. I'll just bide my time until there's another option or see if someone I know will order it for me. Thanks anyway!

The Atari 2600+ is available for preorder already in many countries. Here is a list. For the latest look here https://atari.com/products/atari-2600-plus under international Availability.

    Austria - Games Only

    Benelux - Bol

    Canada - Amazon

    France - Amazon

    Germany - Amazon

    Italy - Amazon

    New Zealand - EB Games

It appears they added more countries since I replied to Tickled_Pink but unfortunately, still none for my country and payment method. Hopefully, it will become available at AtariAge or StoneAgeGamer.

The Atari site does list worldwide retailers. I don't know where you live but Amazon are the official retailer in the UK. I was surprised at the price. Not been a big fan of retro consoles as they've either been expensive or haven't done anything I can't do on my softmodded PSP. But at under £100, it's probably cheaper than getting a HDMI upscaler that can take an RF input. So, it's definitely tempting.

Yes, I'm aware they now have a list of retailers but the only one from the US which ships here doesn't accept my payment method.

Excellent! I know you're overwhelmed with all of the orders from the last chance sale, so I appreciate the quick reply. I messaged you a couple questions about the custom games, one of which was adding them to my order from the last chance sale. I hope you see them in time. Congratulations on the agreement and becoming a full-time employee at Atari. I know this is a big deal for you.

If it doesn't work for you, please send me a PM directly and I can help you out (and we can do an order manually if need be).

Hey, Al! I sent you a PM a couple days ago about making one more addition to my order. Would you please let me know if this is ok?

If you do not plan to replace the HOKEY chip, there is an argument there for saving a little money and getting it soldered on.

CEMs aren't what I would call add-ons, though, as some can also act as independent devices in themselves, and you can certainly order a CEM later. If you wait and order together you might save a little money on shipping but in the USA this is only going to amount to a few dollars.

I don't have the know-how for replacing the chip, so perhaps I should just get it soldered on. I live in Canada, so it would be much better to order them together. Thanks for the reply!
