  1. I wrote mine in BASIC. it called ATT, delayed (I timed how long it took for it to say "please enter your calling card number), dialed 6 random numbers and delayed again (waiting the time it took for a passing code to give me a dial tone), then called a dead BBS in germany. If the carrier connected then it would print that code out on my Okimate 10 and hang up and do it all over again... I would have about 5 card numbers after i got home from school.
  2. I need to figure out how to get my ultrasatan GCR sd card into basallisk ii to copy files. Can someone point me to that info it’s confusing me.
  3. Ahh yes that's right. The Spectre 128 was the one that was the same as the Spectre GCR without the 'GCR' (Group coded recording) mac file system encoding.
  4. Yeah for sure ST and color monitor.
  5. Yes you are correct about the + vs GCR. mom sitting here swapping floppies and it’s brutal because I haven’t dove into figuring out how to get my SD card into Basilisk
  6. Yes I haven’t experience it hands on in 30 years. And photoshop 1.0 as well
  7. Funny I am copying zterm and word over right now lol. Been playing with BBS’s and modems lately.
  8. I have already made a backup of the image file form a PC. its 2GB though... the size of the SD card
  9. When I put the SD card in the Mac it won’t mount though…
  10. I can post mine after I get it loaded up. It’s got system 6.0.5 and 6.0.8 with System Switcher, Photoshop 1.0, Macwrite, MacPaint, The Print Shop, a handful of utilities and diagnostics tools, Loaderunner, glider, sim city and a few others so far. I need to sort out how to mount the image onto Basilisk II next. Right now I’m using floppies so it’s a bit brutal. was wondering if it’s possible to use AppleShare / LocalTalk. Would need a db25 to apple DIN connector converter…
  11. Thats the one. Last post 2011...
  12. I saw that a while ago but it looks like it’s been inactive for 10 years. There’s also a good interview with him on YouTube fro Kevin Savets
  13. 4MB on the STacy. Here’s a video:
  14. That’s a good price. I can’t really use another one yet my 520 needs a ram upgrade abut I can’t find a good way to do it.
  15. The best sound results you will get are with System 6.0.5... Still not great but it does work. All of the System Alert sounds work, MacinTalk works, Glider game works but Loderunner in game sounds do not but the "congratulations" tunes work when you clear a board... SOUND commands in BASIC aren't working. "The Grouch" trashcan extension sounds work. So I think it might be samples play but generated sounds don't.
  16. HA! I would have but i just payed top dollar on FleaBay for an Original... I was wondering if anyone was making repro's of the carts. How much are you selling them for?
  17. Wow it didn’t show up the first try but it’s working now! Awesome! Saved me so much time. Both drives are showing up now the physical internal Conner drive on 0 and the Ultrasatan on 2
  18. I tried that but it complained about tit not having a partition table. I just ignore that and continue on?
  19. I just downloaded you file and it is a .dsk (608_250MB_volume.dsk). What steps do I need to take to get this as an image file that balenaEtcher will accept and the Ultrasatan will work with it?
  20. Sweet balenaEtcher is what I use on Mac. The one sucky part about Mac is it writes a bunch of hidden crap to the disk. I use CleanMyDrive2 on eject to remove most of the junk but there’s always a hidden folder for spotight indexing. It hasn’t been much of an issue with Mac virtual floppy, ultrasatan, BlueSCSI but I’ve had a hell of a time with other SD emulators like for the Atari and Amiga because they get confused about these mac fikes. Same goes for initializing with Disk Utility. Been using a PC to format and write disk images when there’s problems. I’ve been using Basilisk II to get image files from macintoshgarden onto my Ultrasatan and BlueSCSI. Assuming this will be the same procedure basically?
  21. Ok cool I will try burning your image to an sd card today and put in my Ultrasatan and see if Spectre GSR can see it. I know it’s a bit of a house of cards getting all this to work.
  22. glad I found this thread. I just got a Spectre GCR and was able to partition my physical internal Conner drive I. My STacy but it’s on its last leg. I have an Ultrasatan and I partitioned it but the Spectre software sees them as garbage so now I’ve discovered I need a disk image but I’m still a bit confused about the process. I do have Basalisk II but I’d love to just use a pre made disk image. I have found by installing different systems on my Conner drive that System 6.0.5 is ideal for comparability. Sound mostly works with this version. 6.0.8 is ok as well but pretty much has no sound. I suppose I could use a 6.0.8 image and then downgrade it to 6.0.5 once in Spectre. Is the above image the one I want to download to try?
  23. A couple photos so you can see my setup and issues…
  24. I’ve been playing around with a newly acquired Spectre GCR and I am able to get it to work with the built in Conner SCSI drive but I am unable to get it to see the partitions on an Ultrasatan. I tried marking 3 10MB partitions thinking it was a size issue but it still doesn’t work. The format took in Spectre.PRG shows two partitions always and they are both tiny on the graphic bar and the info is all garbled and the format buttons are disabled. anyone know what the issue is?
