  1. Thank you all again for taking the time to respond. I returned the 8mbit flash cart and received the MyIDE II cart in the mail today. Going to pick up a CF and give it a shot via the AtariMax YouTube video instructions soon. Upon request, Steve was nice enough to put MyBios (Beta) 4.9.08 and the latest firmware on it for me as Larry suggested.
  2. Thanks for sharing. Played it a ton over Christmas break ( I teach).
  3. Thank you all for the helpful information. I'm not familiar with Atari 8 OS, programming, or flashing so I guess I need to do some further reading and research.
  4. Larry thanks for the info. Is there an easier way to get roms to play on an A8? If I returned the cart and upgraded to the usb cart would this process be easier or do I still need a SIO2PC cable? Is there a SD flash cart for the A8?
  5. I just have the cart and an Atari XEGS. The cart is the non-USB one.
  6. Just got an AtariMax 8mbit flash cart for Christmas and have no idea what to do with it. I just want to put roms on it to play conversions, homebrews, and roms rather than getting carts out all the time for my XEGS. Is this possible with this cart or is it just for programming? Is there another cart that is capable of holding roms like an SD card version? Thanks and I apologize ahead of time for my complete lack of knowledge in this department.
  7. The Atari 5200 power adapter works great. I bought an Intellivision II used off of Ebay years ago and it came with the Atari 5200 power adapter as the power source.
  8. Assume the controllers will not work to 100% efficiency. I love my 4 port and do not mind the switch box. It is a beautiful beast that does not like to be tamed. Make sure your TV has an antenna/cable input for older systems. Then you can pick up: Gremlins, Robotron, Space Dungeon, Pitfall 2, Rescue on Fractalus, Star Raiders, and Berzerk. At some point you will have to fix your controllers as stated above or order from Best.
  9. Very cool indeed. This place is exceptional.
  10. Got mine in Connecticut at the Family Dollar for $40. Not a deal.
  11. Picked up a trak-ball on eBay and it's fantastic.
  12. This should be done proper. It should be a nice polo style shirt with the embroidered logo, a soft cotton t-shirt with faded logo, and a beer snifter with logo. Intellivision was always a class above.
  13. Here is one I came across http://www.ebay.com/itm/Modded-Atari-5200-Trak-Ball-Controller-/251665685253?pt=US_Video_Game_Controllers&hash=item3a98719b05
  14. 60 game version at Family Dollar. I think Sam's Club may have additional overlays for their retail Flashbacks as opposed to Dollar General having an additional game. http://www.armchairarcade.com/neo/node/5716
  15. Very cool. Added to bookmarks.
  16. Finally landed the INTV and Colecovision Flashbacks at Family Dollar after striking out at two Dollar Generals. Saving the INTV one for my dad for Christmas since he originally had the Intellivision I grew up playing. Full circle I suppose. The Colecovision Flashback's controller knob is a bit too loose compared to the original. Atari 5200 Flashback would be amazing.
  17. Very glad to hear that it sold out because it deserves to. Can't say enough of how great CC is and I look forward to drinking beer and playing it during the upcoming holiday season.
  18. I still have a bunch in not so great condition. I also have a good amount of Grossville High cards
  19. Understood, but if I cared strictly about cost I would just download a romset and get a USB adapter for the controller on my PC.
  20. Portability is an excellent point I never thought about. Kind of like when I used to travel and pack a ton of cassettes or CDs and now can just stream or upload a library to a device.
  21. I agree that the analogue stick is what makes the 5200 unique and I want to use it for every game as intended. That said, a well built analog 5200 controller that mimmicks the original design would be the ultimate. I'm not sure if a self centering feature would negatively affect the game play.
  22. Those are amazing. Thank you. I have no interest in getting a good printer in this day and age, however, and would love if someone would put the set up for sale.
