  1. I would be interested in one of the speech cards! How much are they, and how do I proceed with a purchase?

     

    You would go to the SNUG site and at the bottom of the page is a link to contact Harald or Michael. They will contact you on how and what to pay for the card. Once they contact me I ship to you and you then you owe me the shipping marked on the package. The SNUG card is a more advanced device than the TI sidecar synthesizer. I've always wanted to get deeper into programming this card with existing TI software but can never seem to get the time. :(

  2. The only cards I have left from the last SNUG shipment out of Germany is the Speech card for the PEB. Only three left if I remember correctly. You contact Harald or Michael and pay them then they tell me to send you the card shipping from Staten Island.

    Anyone want the help with the POKE/PEEK statements to copy from BASIC RAM to the cart and back? Can likely also be done in DEBUG with assembler.

     

    I've forgotten almost everything I once knew about this little machine but if I can get the time who knows what kind of peeking and poking I might do. lol

I have a PFM+ mini tower Geneve with "Windows" installed, a "work" Geneve I use for repairs upgrades and a few Geneves in various stages of broken that I plan to bring back from the dead if I ever get TI/Geneve time on the weekends again. Looking forward to taking your version of "My Term" for a spin when you get around releasing it. :)

  5. Have them mostly assembled. Waiting on the piano switches and the RAM.

    Green ones by the one with the battery backed up chip are my pair.

     

    Also, the green/blue break out ones were soldered, too. They are $10/ea, and I have four. The green ones don’t have the two PORT banking lines, and the two blue ones do. Easy enough to solder a wire if you want to jump those.

  6. Actually, the price on the RS232 wasn't that bad. As I recall it took me years to be able to buy mine as they were not something you found everyday like the Games I cart. The little modem was way more easy to come by and all most people were interested in in the 80's along with the Memo processor. Not surprised about the EA cart.

  7. I used snug scsi and work perfect. How mass storage use iomega zip and iomega jazz and all ok. For test i try at home friend that scsi card + iomega jazz work perfect also on geneve

     

    Yes, the SNUG ASCSI is the preferred controller. The 1.6 upgrade on the WHT series of controllers brings them as close to the SNUG ASCSI as you can get them.

  8. I didn't... but I have been in conversations with a fellow enthusiast who has one, and I've been trying to get him to let it go.

     

     

    That's good to know that they can run zips. :)

     

    Be aware that the WHT SCSI "E," "F," and "G" controllers require the version 1.6 upgrade to be dependable in all operations and also PDMA (Pseudo Direct Memory Access) compatable for the Geneve.

    I'll have three of the multi-cart ROM carts and three of the RAM carts this weekend that I don't need as well. (Don't mean to to preempt you, Greg). Just want materials back out of them, so let me do a quick add of what I spent on them. I was just going to keep one ROM cart and one RAM cart for my use.

     

    Two are the V1 versions, and two are the second versions. No operational difference between them.

     

    Edit: This is pretty much my cost. Rounded up to the next $5, plus $5 for labor, plus s/h. The piano switches were ordered today, but I still have to order a couple of 512K RAM chips. Otherwise, I'll assemble what I have save the RAM and piano switches. Should be ready as soon as those parts come in.

    MC1489: Quad line RS232 receiver

    74C902 - Hex inverting line buffer

    LM339 - Low Power Low Offset Voltage Quad Comparators

     

    Second pic:

    1052911-X chip is the Hexbus chip. X probably means experimental.

    SY6551 is a UART.

    Not sure what the TI 1042537-0018 chip is.

    ICL7660CPA is a voltage regulator

     

    BTW, for those that don't know the pins next to the square hole in the PCB are the parallel port. If you needed it you would run a ribbon cable from the connector through the square hole to your printer.

  11. So I decided to sell my Geneve board as I never got the time to actually learn how to use it. I had acquired it 2 years in a non-functional state the the Chicago Faire and fixed and upgraded it with the help of Tim.

    I'm not a collector, and if I don't use something, I either donate it or sell it so at least someone else might benefit from my stuff.

Wow! Never seen that before :)

     

    You just never know. I've posted stuff at the same price I paid for it and didn't get a bid then other times I got three times what I paid.

  12. Thanks for taking the time, Jon. BTW, I wonder if anyone ever took a look at the code of the memo processor software? I seem to recall a bug that would intermittently knock me off-line back in the day. Do you recall this bug, Jon? Charlie Good wrote about this too as I recall. I used the little CC-40 before I got a laptop when traveling with the little 300 baud modem to keep in contact with my wife via the Hidden Reef BBS. :)
