Will see what I can do when I get home. I'll swap the Boca modem back into service for the time being.

Thanks for taking the time, arcadeshopper.

If you have the time go ahead and try out some rates from 300 baud and up. I'll wait to hear from you before swapping the modem back to the dependable Boca.

Internal Memory Upgrade:The Compact Computer 40 (CC40)

This from the TI 99ers face book page. Mass storage for the hex buss. -
Thanks for the words of support, Opry99er.

Hi Evener, I have a question for you. Are you trying to connect at 300 baud? I'm currently running an experiment with a new modem on the Hidden Reef system as AT&T has notified me that by 1-3-2018 They will no longer support my copper line service and I will be converted to fiber optic. As you know the Hidden Reef has been running a 56k Boca modem since 2002 which has always worked well with all speeds from 300 baud to 56k but did have problems with some digital carrier users like VOIP. Looking to solutions for the future I decided to experiment with a new modem that is 56k and also X2 technology which is advertised to be an advantage with digital service like VOIP. So far, it seemed to be working fine an the usual callers have not commented with any connection problems on the Hidden Reef. Perhaps 8bit Atari and other 8bit users that connect at slow speeds are having a problem with the new modem. I will switch back to the old Boca modem later today and if you get a chance to dial-in to the Reef in a day or two we'll see if that solves the connection problem.

Perhaps the black case could indicate earlier board versions. This didn't go well. I just learned "My Media" reduces the size of pics. This board has hand wiring and the EPROM has pins 21 and 24 strapped with the leg of pin 21 bent out so it doesn't make contact with the socket. acadiel's board is a version "A" and shows no hand wiring or strapping of the EPROM. So far, I'm unable to successfully test atrax27407s high speed .bin. I can program the EPROM successfully but the EPROM does not function as expected when connected to the 99/4a console. Will investigate further as time allows.

Hmmm? I don't see a wire tying pin 21 and 24 of your EPROM acadiel? Is your pin 21 lifted from the socket or trimmed off? Ah, you have a revision "A" board maybe that's why.

Nice work guys. Of course I am working dawn to dark this week on the real job so unless it rains I will not be able to burn an EPROM with this new .bin until later in the week.

Thanks for the replies. The pic all the way from Italy solves the problem.

Thanks, RickyDean. My old eyes are not able to make out the logic chip #'s for the seven pin locations. Memory and 9901 aren't the problem.

Hi All, anyone have a pic of the component side of a CC 32K card? I need to be able to see chip orientation and chip location. I have a card in for repair and I'm suspecting the problem is the wrong chip in the wrong location but I have no schematic and this is the first CC 32K card I've ever seen. So I'm guessing and you know what they always say about guessing.

Seems a nice project for this device would be to add higher baud rates than 2400.

If there is anything else I can to aid Steve I'll do what I can.

I actually don't know. I think I got this card when the Western NY 99er's had a swap meet about 15 or more years ago. I put a new battery in it but the floppy was corrupted so I couldn't set the card up to use it. All I can say is it's the only one I've ever held in my hand. I wish the western NY 99er's were still in existence. Unfortunately many of the members have passed on since those days.

The cool feature of this "Grand RAM" is that you can create multiple individual DSR's and save the individual DSR's to mass storage and then reload a particular one that performs singular tasks. Say a weather station DSR or home control DSR etc.. Good bit of documentation for use of the card too.

Nice effort, schmitzi, thank you for taking the time. This pic is on a TI monitor so the quality is poor but I'm sure it will look fine when I get this moved to my main TI system with F18A powered flat screen.

Funny you ask. I'm assuming I have a straight through cable 25pin male/male that I picked out of the pile as it was the perfect length for the job but you know what they always say about assuming things. I'll put the continuity meter to it this weekend and make sure just exactly what this cable is. Stay tuned.

Still no luck guys. Everything on my end seems to be working. Program loads beautiful with the F18A and the favorites load to the screen nicely. All keys and options seem to work as expected but just doesn't connect. Will try again this weekend to get to the bottom of the problem with fresh eyes. I'm sure it's something simple that I'm overlooking. Stuart has done really nice work with this and I'm certain I'll be setting up a page for everyone to visit when I get a chunk of time.

Yes, it works but the software I got with it is corrupted and I can only configure the card part way and that's using EA.
