You can try to switch to advanced options and in Input/Devices & Ports adjust the paddle dejittering.

Do you think it may work better if I exchange the unit?

Thank you for the quick reply, I appreciate that. I'll try that. It's just frustrating because it's the main reason I was looking forward to it and I see people with PC's running Stella that don't have the issue.

Kind of annoyed, got Retron 77, Real clean Paddle controllers that work fine on my real 2600 have jitter out of the box with my Kaboom cartridge. Update Stella to most current version for Retron, 6.5.3, even says fixes paddle jitter and the jitter is even worse on Kaboom. Still works fine on my real Atari. Tried a Rom too, same jitter. any suggestions or is this just junk for paddle controllers. Kind of surprised this isn't worked out yet.

Did you ever solve this?...mine started doing the exact same thing after spraying the volume knob with Deoxit...I really hope it's an easy fix. I have two Vectrex, neither really work well, and would love to find someone locally in Los Angeles especially to repair.

I just got mine and put it together in an old blitz cart(was a bit difficult to install but I got it in). I scored 15 mint games, CIB with overlays and even overlay protectors recently. I removed all the overlays and white envelope protectors from the boxes. This multicart and easy access to the overlays is really gonna give me incentive to log in some more time with the vectrex
