  1. Everyone will be put in a room and forced to listen to a loop tape of Fran Dresher laughing. Whomever is left that can hear the phrase "You win!" wins. In the event of a tie, the music of John Tesh will determine the winner. (laughs!) Oh, one of THOSE torture contests. Well, I have nerves of steel...but probably not after that day though Count my vector (for now) self in! Nice of you to do this!
  2. as of recently: Escape from the Mindmaster Midnight Magic Frostbite H. E. R. O. Tunnel Runner Kaboom! Super Breakout (what the hey, sometimes the simple things can be good ) Galaxian Seaquest Communist Mutants from Space
  3. Wow! Cool to see people listing D. Herby and Ram It, I liked both a lot. I'll have to check out a list of the rarity 6's on here, but those are probably the rarest games I have...and Tunnel Runner, but I don't think it's a 6. Oh well.

    Frenzy

Oh LORD no! There were three types of walls, for one thing: a regular one that did nothing, a white one that bounced your shot right back at you (yikes!), and another one that you could shoot through to shoot at the robots...but they could do the same to you...or you could shoot through one and make your own exit! There were also two different types of robots, plus you could shoot Evil Otto! Three times, and he's down...but then another one would pop back up, and move even faster. Plus there were themes after several mazes, like a "Mother Otto", where, if you shot all the robots in the maze, she would smile, and four Ottos would come out of her mouth (yikes again!). And another one had some kind of power source, which, if you shot it (I think), it would freeze up all of the robots. Plus there could be up to 25 robots in a maze, twice as many as the original!
  5. Unless there's something with these newer tvs that I don't know, to the best of my knowledge it would take hours and hours and HOURS of just leaving the game on before that happens. Anyone have any info about the newer tvs though?
  6. Hope it ain't too late at whatever side of the country this is originating from: it's 11 p. m. here! Neat idea, by the way.
  7. Great-looking! And the dog barking in the background in the video is a nice touch
  8. Hopefully I can get in my two cents before this thread gets locked... Anyway, put me down as another person who doesn't like EGM, although I'll admit I haven't looked at an issue of theirs in ages. I know that while I WAS checking them out frequently--along with other mags, like NEXT Generation, GamePro and all--their reviews were all "monkey see, monkey do", as they'd have three supposed "different" opinions on games, yet they all said the same thing! Take when Williams' Greatest Arcade Hits came out for the Genesis, which they all rated it pretty high, but every SINGLE reviewer said that today's gamers that didn't grow up with those treasures (Defender, Stargate, Joust, etc.) might not think much of the compilation...every reviewer said that! It was ridiculous; let's see how good the kids from back then could do at Defender, guys! And I remember seeing that for Star Wars: Rebel Assault for the Sega CD, where each and every reviewer said the game wasn't very good because they hardly used the color palette at all, everything was white, white, white. No, the game wasn't very good because the game wasn't very good, pure and simple; the lack of colors had nothing to do with it. But every single reviewer said the exact same thing on a very minor issue. And the mag was like that for a very long time. Like I said, that was the EGM of old, hopefully they're better now, but I could care less. (Plus I don't have any current gaming platforms, so it'd just be a waste of my time to read reviews on games I'm not going to have any time soon; oh well.)
  9. Heh...yeah I didn't like it either. How the hell could they NOT have any fruit?! That's just WRONG! Yeah, it took me a while before I could even make it to the second screen, and I was amazed there was a third screen on there too, but I could never make it to the top of Mario's Hideout! Heh, maybe you could sell it back to him then?
  10. Fairly rare; I think it ranks between a 5 and 7 on the Rarity Guide.
  11. Actually there was supposed to have been a deal in the works with Atari putting out cartridge versions of the Supercharger games (as mentioned with one of the Supercharger prototypes on www.atariprotos.com' date=' although I can't remember which one at the moment) at one point. Too bad it didn't happen. Exactly! And nice sentiment there too
  12. There were two of them, actually, although Escape from the Mindmaster is probably the one you mean, the 3-D one, the other one was Sword of Saros. Maybe it wasn't just a maze game, though--I've yet to play it--but I know there were some mazes involved due to seeing some screenshots of it. And Sweat, which was mentioned earlier, was never released, it was just a prototype. So there are really only 12 games that came out. I'd look around here and the Marketplace forums for Supercharger games to pop up, as they do from time to time, since I just bought two myself on here several weeks ago. (I don't have any extras, though, sorry!)
  13. That's probably your problem, I've never had a single problem with my *official* Sega controllers. All I can say is to try using an official Sega controller and make sure autofire and all is off before you play a game. Anyway, welcome to the forums, and that's a bit of a different handle, for sure!
  14. Thanks/good trades with Jacob for sending me a couple of Supercharger games! All I had for years and years was Phaser Patrol, then I was able to acquire another game from a friend a few months back (dropping down the amount of Starpath games I have from 1/12 to 1/6), and now I've got an entire third of them! (prepares to duck from the swarms of responses saying "I've had the entire collection for years now, nyeh!" Well, for me it's a big deal...) Also, Atarian7, even though we didn't do a trade, but he shipped me 16 2600 games from one of his contests, so he seems trustworthy Hope to add more names sometime in the future...
  15. Let me know if YOU need to know how to spot the keys' locations... Yeah, it was probably just as well that this game wasn't more popular, or there'd be more heart attack fatalities than Berzerk!!
  16. LOL, yeah, no kidding, T. Runner was so well designed, as they kept on bumping up the difficulty just a notch here and there, I think they spent a lot of time on it, since an additional piece of paper was included with the instructions saying we made these last minute changes to the game, and here they are. Unfortunately I don't know where it is, so I can't send it to you, but the rest of the photocopied instructions are on their way right now, I just mailed them about an hour ago! And here's just a few examples on what's to come: * They quit showing where YOU are on the screen. It probably won't be too difficult to figure it out though, but if it is let me know and I'll post the answer. * Ah! They started showing me on the map again...but WHERE'S THE KEY?!! Yep, they quit showing you that too...again, if you can't figure it out, I'll let ya know... * This happens several times starting from the Runs in the 40s until the end: the walls become so pitch-dark black you can't tell if you're about to enter an up, double up, or a down door until it's too late...so that's when you have to start taking notes about which ones are up doors and where they are. The horror, the horror! (insert exploding head emoticon here) Yeah, plus you get double the points when you use 'em too. Wow, thank YOU very much! Anything for fellow Atari friends! (don't worry, I won't grind that joke into the ground 100 times or anything; you get the idea )
  17. LOL, yeah, no kidding. But of course additional memory was used in order to achieve the 3D scrolling, but oh well. It's still amazing!
  18. Great! I should have it xeroxed and mailed to you by tonight. Ditto, I don't think it sold very well when it came out, but that was during, or right around the crash anyways. Plus I think it was the only non-arcade adaption from CBS Electronics too. Yeah, you probably didn't realize the thing about the score being added to the first few times; it's understandable with the pressure and all! (cue Zot Monster approaching music ) You're welcome! I'm more of a lurker here, but if there's a place where I can help...especially in regards to T. Runner... I'm sure with practice you'll be able to make it out alive on the 5th Run. Yep, it's all about the experience! You have to remember, though, I've had this since it originally came out, and I was able to get to Run 107, I think, back in the day. There's various Runs that you have to make notes of later in order to get past them, though (you'll see what I mean if you can make it to the Runs in the 40s, they're a monster! Things get pretty nasty with this one!). And with emulation, I finally made it to the end after all of these years, since you can save games with emulators, but the game just crashes at the end; oh well. It would've been nice if there was an ending to it.
  19. Ok, I went through the Run just now; ach, I had forgotten about that one! Yep! Just as soon as you enter it, immediately turn around, start running, and keep the controller/arrow key/whatever pressed to the right so you'll turn right right in front of the Zot Monsters and barely miss them, if you're quick enough. Hope that helps! (just wait until he gets to the levels where they stop showing where the key is...heh heh) Oh, and if you want, you can p. m. me your address and I can copy the instruction booklet for you and send it your way.
  20. Wow! Nice to see people know about this excellent game! You have to have seen a single up door first before you can enter a double-up door. I'll have to look this up and get back to you on it later, the memory escapes me for now... Yeah, that's a weird bonus door: it only works the first time you run up to it, which it'll freeze the timeline and give you about a 1,000 point bonus. However, if you stop at the door and turn and face another direction, you won't get your points. Very original and strange. Congratulations on a most excellent purchase though! Or playing it on an emulator...
