It's a scorcher out there. Sweating my butt off just to save some money on the electric bill. Literally feels like opening an oven when you step outside

Turns out actor Paul Reubens(aka Pee Wee) will also be calling into my show soon! Livestreaming it on Youtube also in case you can't figure out the radio stream. Doing a Thanksgiving special tonight with the actor who played Yoda on Empire Strikes Back. Tune into the stream 12AM-2AMPst... https://kxsf.fm/listen/

Something stinks in the bathroom. It smells like an animal died. We washed the rugs and the floor and everything. There is still a smell.
-
We had a similar dead mouse smell behind a wall in my game room. I have traps to try to kill them before that happens, but it still happened. I searched in the drop-down ceiling and around the ducts in that room's ceiling (its in our basement/game room) but never found it so it had to be behind the wall. There was nothing I could do. It took several weeks for the smell to completely go away. My sympathies.

I was at the liquor store in the Scotch aisle. A woman next to me takes out her phone and says "OK Google - Call my baby daddy."
There's no punchline. I just kinda chuckled and thought "WTF".

10 years from now on eBay: Retro Covid 19 "6 feet apart signs!" Relive the covid nostalgia!
Me: Nope. Not interested. We don't need covidage.com. There will be no nostalgia.

That ship is still there. Must be 2 weeks now.

As I’ve said for the past 20 revisions – It’s finished and I’m not changing anything else! … and I meant it every time

Have barely driven my vehicles the past two months, so getting a refund from my insurance company. Gee thanks for the $10 Liberty Mutual! lol

I'm 1/3 in shock, 1/3 sad, and 1/3 angry.

Finally bought "No Man's Sky" for the PS4. I chose the Creative game mode (explore and create freely). See you in a few years.

It's a travesty that we still don't have a modern re-release of Sewer Shark. Shoot the tubes, Dogmeat!

Is it it me or is AA traffic down quite a bit these past few days?

Is there an existing program for A8 development that takes text (as in dialogue/sentences) and converts into the hex codes (Atascii charset codes I assume?) to store in your ASM program in tables?
For example I enter "the quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog." and it spits out something like this:
.byte $34,$68,$65,$00, .... ?
-
Ok never mind the question, even TASM has a Text support, I just never used it.
The BYTE directive allows a value assignment to the byte pointed to by the current Instruction Pointer. The format is:
[label] .BYTE expr [, expr ...]
Only the lower eight bits of expr are used. Multiple bytes may be assigned by separating them with commas or (for
printable strings) enclosed in double quotes. Here are some examples:
label1
.byte "Hello", 10, 13, "World"

When did 'unpack' become a word that almost everyone says now? How did it get packed and why do I need to unpack it?
-
I have never heard unpack get used as an annoying business buzzword. So I googled it and found complaints about it's use going back years. 2016 article, for example. I think of it as a vacation or moving task, or concerning compressed data. There is one female manager I know who tends to throw around buzzwords, I should pay attention more and see if she uses unpack along will drill down and "agile". Now that I'm over 50, I'm not too agile.

Happy fake money-making holiday.

Broke my eyeglasses the other day, and I've been wearing a 4-5 year old prescription backup pair. Getting in this afternoon to the eye doctor for an exam, and get some new glasses. I'm 44 and still not on bifocals yet, I keep expecting to have to switch to that sometime soon.
-
Hope you aren't getting headaches wearing the old prescription!
I'm 51 and have had progressives for about 6 years. Fortunately I've had the same prescription the past 3 years. Presbyopia truly sucks since the sides/peripheral vision is always unclear now, and I have to direct my head straight-on to see things clearly, like reading smaller signs while driving. Even if I get laser/lasic .. the bifocal/reading problem wouldn't get fixed. I will say my own anecdotal experience -- both I and wife went to Walmart optical first to save money, but those progressive lenses were CRAP compared to going to a real eye optician . My 1st pair, from Walmart optical, if I moved my head, the floor rolled like waves of the sea! My 2nd pair on (from my usual family eye doctor) were much better quality. I now get digital (they scan your eyes). Other than the side-view blurriness, I don't even think about it most times.

I thought Han shot Greedo first because he was great at reading body language and knew that Greedo was about to shoot. Later on we discovered that the Force is nothing but a measurable infestation of special germs, so maybe Han had enough of an infestation to give him a bit of ESP.
