I finally started to play HZD: Forbidden West! It took over an hour to load both discs (data disc, and gameplay disc) onto my PS4 hard drive. I'm not very far, Aloy has a chatty companion dude at first. I have not yet got a handle on the menus and controls. The graphics are quite good and so far I've seen different machine beasts, like diggers and cobra ones. I also revisited my save file for Beach Buggy Racing, and I got a few more stars on races, Stampede levels, and Follow The Leader races. I've been watching my son play Subnautica, too. Stranded on the ocean of a new planet, you dive and collect food and debris/parts to save yourself.

Does it come with armpit speakers?

I’m dense and it took a few minutes to get it. -
I do not stand by any of my 22 year old opinions.

Hmm I wonder if Atari has a Knight Rider license.

HZD was a surprise to me back in 2018 when I got my PS4. I felt real apprehension as I'd encounter bigger, stronger, and meaner creatures. I wonder if it would be as fun on a 2nd play-thru. Those mechs in the Frozen Wilds were icing on the cake after playing through the entire game. I don't play open world games often, so the sprawling hills, mountains, rivers, lakes, and forests simply amazed me at the time. Good mood, and the sci-fi storyline was interesting too, with great voice actors. It was interesting watching one of my sons play it, he used totally different weapons and strategies than I had done. However , I've had the PS4 sequel on my shelf for half a year and never even popped it into the machine yet. Maybe when fall and winter hits and nights are longer. ANYWAY, I did play my PS4 over Labor Day Weekend, for the first time in a month or two - I played all Genesis Compilaton games like ESWAT, Bonanza Bros, and Mean Bean Machine.

What have you actually PLAYED tracker for 2023 (Season 16)
Cafeman replied to carlsson's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Atari 2600 - PAC-Man 15 mins - PAC-Man 8k 15 mins - Go Fish 15 mins Genesis - E-SWAT 20 mins - Mean Bean Machine 30 mins - Bonanza Bros 20 15 mins - Biohazard Battle 30 mins I don’t think I have ever played ESWAT on Genesis. I thought I did but the levels were all new and unfamiliar to me. I think it’s a pretty cool game, like a mix of the first shinobi and RoboCop. -
Atari 5200: How do you get your fix without the console?
Cafeman replied to donjn's topic in Atari 5200
That has been my experience for 20 years, neither of my flatscreens seems to pick up the weak Atari RF signal. So, my solution was 5200 => RF Switchbox into my old VCR => which hooks up via Composite/RCA cables to my LCD or Plasma TV. Great static-free picture. -

672 copies sold? They should’ve made a knight rider game!

I already miss perusing those removed titles and reading reviews of them.

Atari 2600 Adventure - played level 1, then level 2 (and did the secret dot trick) - 30 minutes. Alien (20th Century Fox) - not bad maze chase but shouldn't have the Pac-Man siren. 15 minutes. Alligator People - dull! 5 minutes. Stampede - 15 minutes. Atari 5200 Centipede - 20 minutes. Donkey Kong - 20 minutes. Donkey Kong Jr - 20 minutes. -

Looks pretty close to the original based on the footage in the vid. Not sure if there are different difficulties or not, but the difficulty seemed a bit more fair than what I remembered.

Ok, thanks. I am very familiar with the story and that hidden extra level from the 5200 Pitfall II. I've never beaten it, but have made progress over the years. Props for porting it to INTV.
-
No screenshot of the game in action? First I've heard of Pitfall III.

Atari 2600 paddles use a different connector type than the 5200 uses for controllers. Not sure how you would test it with paddles. could you check local retro gaming or toy stores to see if they have any cheap 5200 controllers? Even if you get a cheap controller that doesn’t work, it isn’t hard to take them apart and clean them to get them somewhat working to at least prove the system works.

Too expensive, My limit is 8.99 for 8-track or cassette. 19.99 for ROMs.
