  1. Does This Ruling Mean The End of the Internet? Maybe. http://t.co/TZ8O7TMj3w via @thedailybeast

  2. To make a long story short, I have! I hope there is a sequel...
  3. It's usually done by putting just the addresses in the table, putting one of them on the stack, and doing an RTS. Saves the jmp instruction in each entry, and it's also easier to multiply by 2 than 3.
  4. Simple solution: the normal up, down, left, and right would become the extra buttons- or how about a secondary direction pad like that on the Nintendo 64?
  5. Oh I forgot... I guess two r(a)ts are better than one!
  6. If the 4 paddles and 2 joysticks can be read seperately... the 2600 could have also easily supported two analog xy's with five buttons on each! (2 paddles for each stick, plus buttons replacing the directional switches)
  7. *never* JMP to a subroutine instead of using JSR! That is actually useful! jmp subQ is equivalent to jsr subQ rts (saves 6 cycles and 2 bytes of stack)
  8. I wonder what the reason was for only having 8 colors in that format... some kind of technical difficulty? lazy design? Secam was actually capable of higher color quality than NTSC.
  9. Maybe that's where the CPU goes when you hit reset?
  10. Combat needed it; Can't tell red from blue on a black and white TV!
  11. If there's "No OPeration", how can there be an operand? "Do nothing to the accumulator." What about the three-cycle NOP?
  12. Combat (“27 Video Games”)* and Video Olympics (“50 Video Games”)* on one 4k cartridge - (switch to other ROM when game select goes past the last one on each) and you would have... Action '77! * - quote from the game's box
