  1. see here: hickory and also here for ivory: ivory more options here:
  2. very "Airwolf"-like, mustve helped sales! it certainly has that authentic '80s art and font tho 🙃
  3. let us know how you get on 🙃 i have the parts to build one but i got screen corruption when i breadboarded it up
  4. i have another ROM dump with that in the title i may as well add it here as it is in context Final Legacy (Tan Cart).rom
  5. this is the icon one: but he is seeking a later model version Final Legacy (Brown Cart).rom
  6. apologies, it does work on my PAL 800XL Antonia - my controller failed and i thought the machine had frozzen..! it also works on my 64k 600XL UAV loaded via A8PcioCart and Fujinet Nice and predictable input and response, great colours for that festive feel Altho the top row of Santa's pixels seem to lift from his head whilst walking - maybe its a toupæ? hehe
  7. check these out: Legacy (The).car Legacy (The).rom Legacy, The rev7.1 (1984)(Atari)(US)(proto)[released as Final Legacy].car Legacy,.rom how do you know if it is v5.3?
  8. My PAL 800XL with Antonia freezes up just as the 1st screen finishes its movement i'll dig out my 64k 600XL and try that i used Fujinet and A8PicoCart to load it in and they responded normally
  9. looking good - highly festive! 🎅
  10. N.B. the 1050 diagnostic software requires the drive to be unmodified in order to pass all tests
  11. you need a software disk to test it with too - it might already be working and you'd never know!
  12. A good reference to those 'arbitrary' caps on the SIO port is that the MegaSpeedy 1050 mod requires them to be removed in order for high speed operations to work. For RAM chips from Aliexpress, the TMS ones are obtainable in larger amounts - they seem to be more numerous over there. Try to avoid the ones without the logo on the ICs tho and always looks for listings that have sold many units and have good reviews. Sadly, XE PCBs have lower build-quality and are prone to lifted traces. it is do-able but all measures have to be observed to prevent damage and post-job troubleshooting. it cannot be done as casually as the better PCBs. if you are particularly concerned, use the leg-snip method and just bin the MT chips. then easily round up the remains and proceed with socketing etc.
  13. they must be out of their tiny minds!
  14. 65XEs and 130XEs all have 2x wires as standard. there are forum posts about it but i think it was mentioned that at the time, manufacturing staff were idle and were given the task as they were paid by the hour..! the memory self-test does not test the extended memory unless you update the OS ROM to the XEGS later type. you can use a number of programs to test it tho - xram, simplechecker are 2x i can recall you could try unplugging the keyboard and see if it boots to selftest, it could be a membrane issue causing the option key to be held down. an OS issue can also cause it to do the same but you have replaced that already. the MMU plays a part in booting the OS so it might be worth a look. you can make an MMU from a GAL chip if you have a programmer - the files are on the forum.
  15. the god of commodore objects to you resurrecting such a titan!
