I really don't have a clue as I don't actually own one of those cables.
Hmm. The SC124 has audio built-in, correct? Or were you wanting
something extra?
Ah. Gotcha.
Yes, looking for something extra. I'd like to be able to record the internal audio of the ST. I'm going to be sampling audio as well as writing music in some programs ... I'd like to be able to record them.

Just keep in mind you still need an ST compatible monitor. Read the warning they posted:
"Note: ST Low/Med color modes require 15kHz HSYNC capable monitor, such as Benq BL720A. This is a design limitation of your Atari video output, not ST2VGA."
Although you might be okay with just running hi-res on a VGA style monitor with it.
The cool thing about using hi-res on the STacy with an external monitor is that you still have
your STacy's screen active as well. If you use color with an external monitor, your STacy's
screen blacks out (as you've probably already noticed)...
@DarkLord I have found a nice, affordable SM-124 locally as a solution.
I like keeping it all Atari. In re to the ST2VGA r4 VGA adapter mentioned: any inkling if I would be able to plug the VGA adapter in as a means to solely to have an audio out while still using the SM-124 as a monitor?

Thanks. I’ll have a look at the audio mod … unfortunately, I’m not very experienced with soldering & modding.
That’s great! I too love entering the Atari zone.

Yeah, that does sound ambitious... and good on ya for climbing a big mountain.
Getting audio out of a STacy sounds super! As do the other mods.
The way you describe your time with the STacy almost sounds meditative. Enjoy it!

Thanks, I'm planning on doing some more updates this summer, as I can find time. If you
really want to be impressed by what someone has done with their STacy, check out Derkom's
thread over at Exxos's Forums:

Amazing stuff!
Yes, I've seen those. Agreed! Impressive! It's a work of art. Looking forward to seeing your updates this summer!

Thank you @stokowski.
Thanks @TGB1718 for the tip. I may get one as I have a spare monitor, though not as aesthetically nostalgia pleasing as the SC1224.
And thank you @DarkLord for the warning. Btw, wonderful work you've done on the STacy!
@Zogging Hell didn't know about those 'emulators'...very interesting...thanks for sharing.

Greetings! It’s nice to be back with w my Atari again and here on Atari Age.
I recently got an Atari SC1224 Monitor from a thrift store. It works great plugged into the STacy! I started running Cubase 3.02 and noticed that some of the text columns were overlapping.
I popped open the manual for Cubase and came across this: “…it works with Atari monochrome monitors, like the 12” SM-124 or SM-125 or the 19” SM-194. Other monochrome monitors may work. Color monitors are not supported.”Has anyone had a similar experience? Is there a workaround to be able to use the SC1224? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
