Atari Jaguar replica pro controllers
sirlynxalot replied to sirlynxalot's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
11/21/24 USB Jaguar controller adapter is gone. Prices reduced on the controllers. Also selling my Atari Lynx collection on ebay. Shoot me an offer if you're interested. I'll give a discount to long time Atariage forum users. https://www.ebay.com/itm/196655719658 -
Buyer pays shipping. Buyer should be located in the USA. EDIT: 12/4/24 - adding more stuff and reducing prices on existing stuff! ATARI 2600 2600 jr short rainbow (console only, no cords/controllers) - $30 2600 jr long rainbow (console only, no cords/controllers) - $30 [as of 11/24/24, only the short rainbow console is available] Sega Saturn Sega Saturn Model 1 system with hookups, memory card and 2 controllers - $140 Saturn 3D Pad (I bought it new and it was rarely used) - $90 Sega Saturn USB controller adapter for use with PCs - $20 by itself, or free if you buy my Sega Saturn console and/or my Saturn 3D pad Sonic R (real disc, but full manual and tray art are replica) - $100 Sega Genesis T-shirt size medium (made recently, not a 1990s item) - $20 or free if you buy over $100 worth of any items and ask for it Atari Jaguar Replica pro controller (there are two available) - $150 per controller Atari Jaguar T-shirt size medium (it was made/printed recently, it is not a 1990s item) - $20 (or free if you buy both pro controllers) Atari Lynx Atari Lynx collection as pictured with a working Lynx 1 system, carrying case, AC adapter, 9 games and various game boxes/manuals/posters. The lynx was purchased from Best Electronics in the 2010s, it is currently fully functional and has not been modded in any way. You might want to consider replacing the system's internal zener diode component (soldering required) at some point soon as in recent years various people have had this part go bad on them, which results in too much voltage going to the custom processors and ultimately destroying them - $375 PC MS-DOS Xargon by Epic Megagames from 1994. Full registered version on CD. - $180

I'm sure you guys have seen it, but the previous two pages of this thread show that the bare PCB essentially already exists for some years now. We just need to find a way for it to be fabricated and distributed to interested parties who may want to try populating it.

The duo and the Sega Neptune (combined mega drive and 32x) have some similarities, since each was unreleased and going to be an integration of the base console and a sizeable add on cartridge port accessory into one unit. In that regard its been interesting to see the recent fan led development of Sega Neptune cases and motherboard pcbs to integrate the mega drive and 32x together. At this point, if you have the technical ability to desolder the relevant chips from your mega drive and 32x motherboards and solder them back onto the new custom single Neptune motherboard, and get the new custom case printed... You can have a Sega Neptune! https://www.timeextension.com/news/2024/02/were-one-step-closer-to-a-new-sega-neptune-console https://www.pcbway.com/project/shareproject/The_Neptune_Project_abf52b41.html The stakes are higher in the Jaguar world as the console and CD drive cost a lot more than a mega drive and 32x, but with the jag duo PCB already existing, it doesn't feel like we're too far off from seeing a similar duo project in the realm of possibility. Re the case, 3d printing has advanced in recent years and seems like it could be a suitable avenue for cases to avoid the crazy expense of custom injection molding (this is how the new Neptune cases are being made). Of course we need someone to model it to make printable parts. In the case of the Neptune, there are no schematics for the case so the modeler made a custom model based on the existing pictures circulating of the Neptune, and initially designed the dimensions and internal screw posts and things to fit the mega drive 2 motherboard. Since we have detailed info on the duo PCB, it's dimensions, etc, someone with a similar skill set as the Neptune case creator could do the same for the duo. In other words, we have even more official info, schematics and pictures of the duo to use as reference materials for making our own duos as the Neptune guys had for the Neptune, so bring on the duos I say! 😁

Zarlor Mercenary. My friend had a lynx with 3 games in the late 90s and this is the one I was drawn to. Eventually I got my own lynx from Best electronics and got my own copy of the game.

Raptor Call of the Shadows on PC ... Zarlor Mercenary?
sirlynxalot replied to sirlynxalot's topic in Atari Lynx
He also pointed me to this early prototype version of raptor that had even more in common with Zarlor. For instance the shop screen looks more like Zarlor, the desert backgrounds are reminiscent of Zarlor level 1, the weapons such as side shooters are similar to some in Zarlor and do not exist in the final game, the ship is a fantasy space ship looking design compared to the final game where it looks like a conventional US fighter jet, etc. He also mentioned that a friend of his was looking for a name for a game later in the 90s and he suggested the name Xarlor for it. That game is this one! https://youtu.be/pRmUMVY9vPU?si=hrNUGsYrbXvRG4mq Pretty neat to see how Zarlor, an obscure game on an obscure console had some unofficial influence in a couple places. -
Raptor Call of the Shadows on PC ... Zarlor Mercenary?
sirlynxalot replied to sirlynxalot's topic in Atari Lynx
So by the way, I recently was able to chat with the guy behind Raptor via social media and he mentioned he had a lynx and had played Zarlor Mercenary a bunch before making Raptor. So my idea there might be some influence there was not so far fetched after all! -
I see you've gone full jag...

California Games scoring question: 'Better Than James'?
sirlynxalot replied to seastalker_returns's topic in Atari Lynx
There are videos on YouTube of people scoring 1700 and 1900 on ca games bmx and they still get as good as James for the rating. I thought there was a crazy video of a guy getting 3000+ points on bmx but I can't find it right now, maybe I'm confusing it with one of these other ones. 1700 is a pretty ridiculous score in bmx that you would never realistically expect anyone to get, I doubt the developers would have made a special ranking that kicks in after 2k or more points. -
It's important to have game drive, club drive, power drive and the CD drive in order to complete the Jaguar "drive" collection 😜
