  1. Seems like the 2600+ could easily be repurposed into a 7800+ just by changing the case since 7800 games are already supported.  But makes sense for atari to use 2600 shell since the nostalgia and user base are probably way higher for 2600 than the other systems.

Sure I can run a quick 3:30 vid of the audio if that works. It’s similar to the PS1 launch disc I remember having it outlines the CD system and its capabilities and launch software etc and who to contact for more information. Nothing too crazy but it’s definitely a piece of history for sure.

    That would be great!

  3. I bought some 3do stuff from bitrate years ago and I got the impression he was liquidating his collection at the time. I haven't seen him posting anywhere since around that time either, so I think odds are good he probably sold these off as well.

  4. Maybe best electronics can buy them out (joke) 😉 honestly though, were there actually dozens or hundreds of pre assembled copies of the games, or was it more of a "ok we sold 2 copies of crazy otto this week, let's go hand assemble them this weekend and send them out"

  5. I don't think the Jag could do it "exactly" as the ps1 version was. At least, my impression was that the game had a much farther draw distance and higher resolution than any other 3d game on jag, while maintaining a decent framerate.  The game has a bunch of fmvs and recorded music, so it would be best suited to Jag CD to keep those features, however that may provide additional challenges in terms of whether the large levels fit in the jaguars ram without being cut down.

  6. Just an anecdote, but I got a demo disc with my PlayStation in the 90s with a demo of bubsy 3d when it was a current game.  As someone who was into the latest and greatest 3d PS1 games at the time, the game seemed bland in the graphics department, but not totally awful. The gameplay had a springiness to it when you jumped on enemies that was neat.  I had no interest in buying it, but happily played around with the demo a bunch of times. Would rate it similar to other B tier platform games like the PlayStation Gex game.

  7. Some years ago I remember it made the news that Atari was partnering with some other companies to make atari themed hotels.  I haven't heard much about it since, though there is an odd website that's still up talking about the vision.  Since no addresses or specifics are listed, I take it nothing has been developed in this manner yet, but just wanted to check with the forum here... What the heck happened with this atari hotel initiative?

  8. Any interest in a virtual jag fest, such as through a 2 hour zoom call or something?  People could show off their elite gameplay skills in bigpemu, maybe there could be a live score attack or speed run for people who start their game at the same time (or checkered flag time trial, etc), developers could show demos of things they are working on to a live crowd, etc. Maybe an organizer works out a schedule of events like this in advance and manages the screen sharing so it's not just a Hodge podge of 20 people talking and playing random games simultaneously 😅

  9. They definitely had computer typing classes in my elementary school. It was funny because they had them again in middle school but the computers used in middle school were archaic apple iis whereas the elementary school had whatever the modern apples were of the early 90s.

  10. If the mood strikes you, you could also take a video with your cellphone while the cd is playing in your car cd player and then upload it to streamable (no account needed), or youtube or elsewhere.  The point is the audio, so if you were self conscious about your car's interior, you could put your finger over the camera. Wouldn't be archival quality or anything but that could be a quick and easy way to give a general idea of what the track sounds like.
