  1. And using the original controllers! https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=873452596057345&substory_index=0&id=783316545070951
  2. The worst part is Nintendo doesn't let me delete his user account on my WiiU without entering his current password. So in addition to my mii. I am greeted by his, waving at me, taunting me every time I power on the console. Unless I reformat it completely I'm stuck with it. Crazy Climber> He doesn't use a cat for his avatar (at least not at present) so I'm thinking your experience was probably with someone else. Thanks for the support fellas. I've had a lot of dealings with folks on VGCollect, RFGeneration, eBay, etc. this is the first time I ever had a deal go so upside down.
  3. Night Trap (Sega CD) Castlevania: the Dracula X Chronicles (psp) Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (psp)
  4. Snapped up an N64 console (with power cord, but nothing else) for $10 at Savers yesterday.
  5. Unfortunately my opinion has changed based on events that happened months after my purchase. I go into detail here: http://atariage.com/forums/topic/87198-bad-trader-alert/?p=3290646
  6. So this is one of those I really hate to do this sort of things. But it is what it is and folks need to know to watch out. I bought a Nintendo WiiU last October from JohnnyBlaze. He posted a topic in the marketplace (I'd link to it but he's conveniently had all the original information redacted from the original post) about selling a Complete in Box Zelda WiiU in like new condition. It had 6 physical games: Batman Armored Edition Tekken Tag Tournament Super Mario 3D World Mario Kart 8 Ducktales Remastered Nintendoland And roughly 19 digital games. Many were Virtual Console titles. But some were pricier titles like: Windwaker HD Hyrule Historia HD New Super Mario Bros U Dr. Luigi Nes Remix 1 Nes Remix 2 His claim was all the digital content was tied to the box (like the original wii) and that everything was included. I made an offer accordingly: $500 shipped. He accepted. I received the item in expected condition. Until I noticed that all the digital content was tied to his Nintendo ID. Not the console. I contacted him via AA message and he said I was wrong. I went to Nintendo's site. Their terms showed I was correct. I went back to JohnnyBlaze and asked if he used the Nintendo ID for any other consoles and if I could have the account information he used to register it. He gave me his login information and said "no" he was not using it for any other consoles. I naively took this to mean he was willfully turning his Nintendo ID account over to me. In hindsight I probably should have asked him explicitly if this is what he was doing. Thinking the Nintendo ID was now mine, I reset the password. I also created my own Nintendo ID so all my purchases going forward would definitely not be tied to his account. For many months things worked as expected and life was good. Sometime around March I got a notification on my WiiU that the password for the old Network ID had been reset again. By Johnny Blaze. I contacted him to ask about it and offered my cell # to talk it out. He sent me an agitated email and said I had no right to reset his password and that it was now tied to his 3DS. I explained to him that if he kept "his" account eventually it would invalidate all the content tied to that Nintendo ID on my console. He said I didn't know how these things worked and then stopped replying to me all together. 2 weeks later all the digital content on my box tied to his Nintendo ID became invalid and stopped working. Since April it's all just been useless icons on my console. I emailed him, offered him my personal cell #, and tried messaging in the forums. He refuses to respond in any way and hasn't logged into AtariAge since April 7th which, coincidentally, was about the time I informed him his actions had invalidated all the digital content that was part of our original transaction. I never asked for my money back and stated clearly I did not wish to return the console. But I did ask multiple times for him to contact me so we could work something out. I know he's got some positive history build up here (posts and deals going back to 2007) so this post is probably going to agitate more people than him. I sincerely regret that. Admittedly I haven't frequented these forums as much or for as long. But I do have 100% perfect feedback on Ebay and vgcollect: http://vgcollect.com/forum/index.php/topic,4883.0.html I honestly feel like I was being open and reasonable and that he is acting carelessly and irresponsibly. I've since begun repurchasing the digital content in physical form. The saddest part is if he had contacted me I would have been happy to settle for a small amount of credit to put towards rebuying just one of the pricier titles and we could have been all good. Your mileage may vary, just be careful.
  7. $6 complete, at Goodwill today: I passed on a beat up original GameBoy with Mario Land and a bunch of (10) meh games.
  8. Saw this at the local thrift for $10 but passed. No power, video cables, or software. Not Idea if it was worth jumping into. Gun shy on unknowns now since the cib Emerson Arcadia stuff I spent $50 on.
  9. Great score. Especially the home brews and the working cv!
  10. If you get Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection for PS3 or Xbox 360 that actually has a couple of the good exclusive ones (Golden Axe Warrior. Phantasy Star.) Most Master System games were not exclusive. For most of the library you could find the same game on game gear. Or a better version of the same game on Genesis.
  11. Yeah, usually I'm the guy that shows up at a yard sale promptly at starting time only to learn 30 minutes earlier a reseller has swooped in and bought all $500 worth of their wii/ps3/whatever stuff for $20. But today "Good fortune smiles upon thee..." The Savers here in CA is usually good for some 29 cent gaming magazines and the occasional $8 xbox (original). It's the same place I got those two Cobra light guns for $8.
  12. Speaking of a dollar each... Snagged these today at the local Savers for $1 each. All complete. As I was leaving another guy came into the store went straight for the shelf I'd just taken them from. As he left dejected he saw the whole lot in my arms and wailed "Nooooooooooooo!" We talked for a bit in the parking lot. I showed him what the titles were and assured him I was a fellow gamer/collector not a reseller. That seemed to soften the blow. After I got home I checked the going prices for these games complete on eBay (just curious, I only dabble in SMS collecting). $204. Couldn't price Zillion cause there isn't a complete one with a BIN price. Best of the bunch seems to be Galaxy Force. Can't wait to fire it up on my Retron 5. To date this and the free ColecoVision I got CIB are my best thrift pickups of all time.
  13. My dream is a board that simply lets me play a majority of my games again without performing surgery on my ColecoVision first. Seriously, I'd love a perfect uber upgrade that's %100 compatible some day. But before that, I just want to play Lady Bug, Donkey Kong, and Pitfall. I can live without a steering wheel. I can play my 2600 games in any one of my 3 Ataris. And I can live with RF or composite video.
  14. I have the loose (legit) discs for 3DO Night Trap in a custom DVD Case with Custom Artwork. I know the game is pretty easy to play. But the curious collector/gaming historian in me would like to print out the manual for me to paw through. I tried replacementdocs http://www.replacementdocs.com/download.php?list.29 and archive.org https://archive.org/details/3domanuals Neither have it. Anyone here got it that would be willing to hook a 3DO brother up with some scans?
  15. You gave him a helluva deal. The eBay prices were crazy for a while but they seem to be coming back down to earth now.
  16. Totally agree. I am a new 3DO owner but so far I'm loving it! Night Trap on the 3DO is an amazing game for its time. Sewer Shark is going to take few more plays for me to get the hang of. Had lots of fun playing through Demolition Man even with the bad fight stages. Looking forward to playing Twisted, the Need for Speed, GEX, and Daedalus encounter.
  17. I bet for the low low price of $75 he does! If you don't like it then don't buy stuff from him in the free thread!
