  1. Then it would be a different design than for 320x240. Yes, I've seen this. But this converter PCB is the same as these 20 USD LCD controller WITH LCD And it's also analog and it isn't using the pixel clock for exact pixel displaying! I wouldn't recommend it IMO.
  2. I'm using 320x240 LCDs, because 640x480 are too expensive for this application IMO. Scanline option would also be possible, because all lines are displayed (but every 2nd just half bright). 480i games are also possible with 320x240
  3. The power consumption is almost the same, but a little bit better than before
  4. Yes, the SEGA NOMAD mod kit (also the PCE GT mod kit) is still in development and I've tested several different ADC ICs/designs. I let you know once I've finished it.
  5. I recommend the 5-Volt mod with RECOM DC/DC. If the zener diode gets broken, the LYNX (and also the mod kit) will be "fried".
  6. I guess the cartridge port is faulty. Check all pins. But as you can see the LCD mod is working perfect. Also the chip SUZY could be faulty.
  7. Please check CL2 and RES/TPR. Perhaps post some pictures of your wiring.
  8. Do you still have sound???? If yes, do you have PCB version C104129? If yes, you have to set jumper JMP1 (very close the CPLD) and you have to use solderpoint TPR instead of CL2. Don't use both together!!!
  9. Do you still having sound and have you made the 5-Volt check? Please do following test: Remove all wires and just solder +5 VCC, GND. Then you should have colored static on the screen. Then solder also the wires CL2 and RES/TPR. The screen should become black. Then solder D0-D3 and the picture should appear on the 3.5" LCD. For switching the different modes solder the backlight wire again. Let us know the results of every step. Cheers, Marco
  10. As I know Alpine Games is the only game with interlaced pictures (except some other demos)
  11. Yes, interlaced mode isn't working well because of the variable frame rate of the LYNX. That was already mentioned here months ago. The LYNX-II mod is more easy than LYNX-I or GAME GEAR. You just need a good soldering iron/station with fine tip. I also can do the installation for you, if you want.
  12. If you have some colored static on the screen and the sound is working, both (the LYNX and LCD mod) are working fine. Is the screen flickering, please check CL2 again. If not check RES/TPR wire again. Please send some closer pictures of your wiring.
  13. Yes, it's normal if it is just for a millisecond like this: http://atariage.com/forums/topic/233632-lynx-lcd-replacementvga-out-by-mcwill/?p=4047247
  14. If you mean the short crack noise when turning on it's normal.
  15. This solderpoint is OK, but I can't see the pad under the hot glue I still don't know if the LYNX has sound when cartridge is inserted. Please send to my address and I will check it, if you want. PM sent.
  16. Sorry, I meant TPR instead of RES. RES is for LYNX-II. If you still have sound, the LYNX is working correctly. I've seen the yellow wire (TPR) is not wired correctly?! Perhaps short between the big trace around TPR? So the LYNX mod kit can't update the screen datas. Please check and the LCD will work correctly
  17. It seems the board is working fine, because you have static on the screen. Please check CL2 and RES. Also if there's a short circuit at the old LCD ribbon with the pads around each wire! Is it flickering, please check CL2. Otherwise check RES. Please let us know the result. Cheers, Marco
  18. Some people use LQ035NC111 for exchange. You also can use one of my quality tested 3.5" LCDs with no pixel issues Then send PM please.
  19. You also just can exchange the 3.5" LCD of the LCD mod. Then you don't need a complete new LCD mod kit! Putting the original screen back in is an option, but the new one has more contrast and powerful colors and the games are much easier to play IMO
  20. Not yet, sorry. But will coming very soon.
  21. Please post some pictures of your wiring. Also check D0-D3 again.
  22. No problem Once they are available again, I let you know.
  23. The LYNX mod only provides VGA (RGB with H+VSync - 640x480 @ 60 Hz). I guess the 1st TV accepts VGA in, the other TVs not. The GG mod also provides NTSC @ 30 Hz in TV mode.
  24. For my LCD testings I always used a standard LYNX-II without 5-Volt mod and after turning it on and off for about 2000 times the LYNX was "fried", because the voltage diode got broken. I always recommend the 5-Volt mod, because the original power circuit is a ticking time bomb.
