  1. The mod kits are available again now
  2. Yes, will be coming. But it will takes a while yet, sorry. They should be available again this month.
  3. (I attached the pics you sent me by email) I guess the wiring of D0-D3 is incorrect. Please check again. Perhaps there's a short circuit at the old LCD ribbon. If the wires are correct, the SUZY IC could be defective. I had several LYNX-II with defective SUZY ICs caused by overvoltage. With original LCD mostly you won't notice it. But with my LCD mod you will see everything
  4. On the original LCD you won't notice it too much, but it's still there Have a look at the label, if it's an 1ASIC GG (serial number): Mostly the 2nd number is "3", then it's an 1ASIC GG. But there also exist some GGs with the 2nd number "2".
  5. Have you cleaned the pads of the SMS converter? If you also want to play SMS games on the GG, the 1ASIC is the better choice, because the 2 ASIC has some mapper issues with SMS games. It's the same with original LCD.
  6. Now the GG mod kits and LYNX mod kits are available again! Thanks for patience.
  7. Yes, I'm still selling the LYNX and Game Gear mod kits. At present I'm still waiting for the 3.5" LCDs. I hope they will arrive this week. When they are ready for shipping, I let you know.
  8. Please post some pictures. Please check the wiring, especially D0-D3. You also can post some pictures of the wiring. Which modifications were done (except the LCD mod ) ?
  9. I found the issue. It's the LCD itself. It seems to be faulty. I can send just the LCD and you exchange it or you can send your LYNX and I will change it. Sorry for the trouble!
  10. I will start a new thread when the time has come. BTW: Yes, the mod kit will support 50/60Hz and the interlaced mod 320x448. Turning off the screen should also be no problem.
  11. I have some micro-USB with 2000 mA, no problem. I know the shipping problems with batteries (especially to the US), but within the EU (especially the Netherlands) it wouldn't be a problem, because it will be sent on the road by truck instead of plane. Please PM me the tracking number once you sent it
  12. When I have finished the NOMAD mod kit, I will post it in a seperate thread. Yes, I am ready to receive it. I hope it still looks like an ATARI LYNX
  13. It don't matter if you have VR1 installed or not on the LYNX-II (because for switching you have the backlight button!), also on the LYNX-I (if you don't need to switch between different modes!). The old backlight circuit isn't needed anymore. On LYNX-I with backlight thumbwheel you can switch between the different modes and the backlight pad of the LCD replacement is set to '0' or '1' (if you soldered the backlight wire). So I can have a look at it, if you want. You can send the complete LYNX-I (without any cables or PSU) or just the LCD mod kit to my address.
  14. Did you do the 5 Volt mod? Please check, if you have some short circuits at the old LCD ribbon. But it also can be a faulty LCD. Then send the complete LYNX to my address and I will check it.
  15. Yes, for switching the modes you need the wire from backlight point of ATARI PCB to pin 4 backlight of LCD mod kit. Otherwise you can't switch between the modes normal picture, scanlines, VGA and VGA scanlines. If you wire pin 1 of LCD mod kit to GND, then VGA modes are not provided and you just have 2 modes: internal 3.5" LCD normal and internal 3.5" with scanlines. You have to switch by BACKLIGHT BUTTON, not thumbwheel. The thumbwheel on LYNX-II is not necessary anymore. It's only necessary on LYNX-I for switching the modes.
  16. On first tests with LYNX-I I had some trouble, so I removed R73.
  17. Yes this video is awesome. But don't remove the protective film at first! 5.2 Volt should be OK, but don't exceed 5.45 Volt, otherwise the LCD replacement will be damaged. Perhaps try another powerboost with 5 Volt.
  18. I think the overclocking could be a problem, because it is 50% faster than the original one (16 MHz + 8 MHz). You also can use a switch instead of the poti. The instructions can be downloaded here: http://atariage.com/forums/topic/233632-lynx-lcd-replacementvga-out-by-mcwill/?p=3453227
  19. No problem, I can do the installation for you. Just send the LYNX without any cables or power supply to me.
  20. Since September 2015 there is no newer firmware available. The current firmware has retro-style / scanlines (both LYNX and GG). The first batches haven't retro-style or scanlines. I am the only one who is upgrading the firmware of the boards (cause of copy protection).
  21. The next batch of GAME GEAR mod kits is available now
  22. First you should test the voltage on each LYNX with original PSU. The power +5Volt should be about 4.9 Volt. If it is much more (7 Volt or more) the 2 ASICs definitely are defective. I guess the problem on LYNX B will be solved with my LCD replacement. But also the SUZY IC could be defective.
