For what it's worth, I've never had any problems with Chris. He helped me almost 10 year ago when I got back into the TI community here. He remoted directly into my TI's IP address (several of us used to connect to the internet via UDS-10/rs232 before the tipi was created) to help me and also sent me a whole bunch of games on 5.25" floppies as well as blank diskettes. He even would help me with problems on the phone if I just needed to call someone for troubleshooting.

I just got an email saying the kickstarter was cancelled.

I looked at my card out of the bag and it does appear to have been opened at some point. The screw in the corner where is rs232 sticker is, is on the outside. I also looked through the documentation included but it was just the manual, registration card and some old list of items that someone had for sale at some point. The card on the manifest list doesnt mention anything about modification. I assume the manual was long ago scanned and put online that probably doesn't help. I didnt actually take the 4 screws as I really am not sure what I would be looking for on the inside. Sorry not much help here.

Hey Rasmus,
Thanks for the reply.
SpoilerI had actually done all this already. I'm in the cockpit and push the little button to turn on the computer, but I cant pull the lever unless I touch dont touch buttons. Do I need to enter something into the little computer launch sequence parser thing?

Did anyone but me complete the game? Did anyone have issues loading saved games? Is there a problem with the disk images (as mentioned earlier) that should be resolved?
Could use some help in the final pod. Seems the only way I can pull the throttle is after I push the do not touch buttons. Any tips appreciated, I must be doing something wrong with the launch sequence?

Sick. This is awesome. I have a sams card from when krsaul made them, I regular 90k 5.25" floppy drive, a 180k 3.5" drive and a TIPI (as of today), and a final grom 99, and a 384K horizon ramdisk hooked up. I think these are the only relevant HW for this game? I prefer to run as much off OG hardware as possible. Recommendation to on what to buy? Is there like an 'all in edition' where I can get all the floppies and the cart? Also...what does the cart do if I have the floppies and/or vice versa? Like can I just straight up run this off the cartridge? I definitely want the physical edition, just want to make sure I can actually run the physical edition I order off my system ? I just do want to buy all the cool stuff and then have to xfer it to tipi and run the digital edition if I can avoid it -- I need that disk drive grinding away to satiate myself!

What's the best way to get this to my TI? I still havent fixed my lantronix, but I do have FG99, 5.25", 3.5" and ramdisk. Is anyone selling physical copies?

Yeah, the manual is like 6 years old now. I believe it would require getting your hands on a period version (pre TIPI) of the browser. There were some differences is the settings in this manual that were changed at a later point in time to speed things up. Also, the UDS-10 version required Stuart's site to do the heavy lifting of the URL. So, what does this all mean? It means that IF you can get a period version of the browser, it may not even work any more. At any rate, here is a copy of the PDF/manual. Good luck!
Thank Omega - this is exactly what I needed!
Question - have you ever seen 'Connection Refused' when trying to connect to the lantronix? For some reason I cant get it to go, even at port 9999 on telnet. Unless maybe I have the wrong IP address, but given the list I think that would mean my UDS isn't even connecting to the network? When you said reset your device does that mean hold down the tiny button between the ethernet port and power cable for 30 seconds?

Sorry I should clarify. Kevan made a PDF walkthrough back in the day.... I guess manual was the wrong word.

Firstly, The UDS-10 is on the LAN and can be seen and connected to via Telnet.
I've followed Omega's manual and loaded Telco to try at least to connect to the Heatwave BBS before trying Stuarts Browser, but I'm having issues.
Telco loads fine from the HxC once I stripped it from the original disk image to the format that could be read. I then configured the UDS-10 as explained in Omega's manual and connected the CorComp card in the PEB to the UDS-10 using a rewired null modem cable as shown again in Omega's Manual.
When I select the Terminal option from the main menu, I get a flashing cursor, but nothing happens when I try to enter the dial string commands. Also, the CorComp RS232 lights don't come on, but they do when I use the Diagnostics option 3 from the EX Basic 2.7 Cart.
Obviously I doing something wrong, or something's not working as it should. I'd be grateful for any help and pointers.
Thanks,
David.
Is that manual still around somewhere? I tried looking in Omega's blog stuff because I thought it was there at one point in time, but I can't seem to find it? I switched to fiber internet and it came with a new router and I don't think it is assigning my UDS-10 an IP address.

Here it is as a WORD document
Actually, I meant the program ROS thing itself, but I did some more digging and found a disk that most likely came with the ramdisk when I bought it! .....unfortunately I just did something so now I can't use my PEB at all (sigh) - same problem as before, I posted in another thread.

Okay this just happend again. I ran PALEA5 and then tried to switch to an extended basic cartridge and now the whole system is locked up again. Very frustrating I can't use my PEB at all, but the lone TI will work. Anytime I turn on the PEB the whole thing locks up. I feel like this has something to do with the F18A now. Is there a way to disable or boot in 'old' mode or anything?

the printed manual in the background is not the most recent. If you used the 8.14F disk, you must select the right version to match your disk controller. If @Shift838 helped you load the ROS, he probably had version 8.38. The most current release is 8.42c.
The below direct link to the horizon ramdisk Wiki should give you enough simple context and information to get started.

Any chance I could get a copy of that file? I dug through some diskettes and I either mislabed/lost it or overwrote it with something else. I looked on WHTECH FTP site, but I wasn't sure if the newest version was there?

Try reloading ROS before you remove the batteries. If you remove the batteries, you will have to load ROS and reconfigure the RAMdisk anyway.
Can you dumb it down for me please? Do I need ROS on a disk and If so how do I load it?

Hi Everyone,
I'm sure this is a dumb question:
I went to DM 2K and tried to bring up the DSK5 directory which is my ram disk. Unfortunately it came back with an error. Are the rechargeable batteries dead? If so can I just replace them and go back to using it? I remember when i first got the card Chris(shift838) helped me set it up, but god help me if I remember any of the steps. It's a 384k model i believe. Any help is appreciated!
P.S. yes that is the manual in the picture, but I figured I'd ask you smart folks before confusing myself with technical reading

Awesome - thanks. I bought the Plato cart. But I ran into a (memory) problem when trying to transfer the files to my TI disks.
And by memory, I mean my own personal grey blob in my skull...
I used to transfer files to my TI using TIMXT and a terminal emulator on the PC side. I found the terminal program I used to use, but I can't for the life of me remember how to detect the TI's IP address. I am connected with a UDS-10. I think Omega used to have a guide somewhere with a program you could run that would list all the ips on your network or something...
Also -- There's software somewhere that I need to use to turn all the plato disks into TIFILES right? I totally forget the name of that program as well...
Any help would be appreciated!

Hi Everyone,
My kids start home schooling next week with the lovely global health crisis going around. I already have all the school platforms setup for official teaching on my end, but I thought it would be fun to revist some old classics from the TI. My kids are 2nd grade, Kindergarten, Pre-K so 8,6,5 years old. The oldest two are beyond Early Learning Fun at this point (they loved it when they were younger), but if anyone has any recommendations for Edutainment / Education carts that I could pick up? My oldest child is already in the 'gifted' program at school (we TI users are smart right? :)), so don't worry about putting anything too challenging here - I like to push them to the educational limit and I am sure they will like the challenge, but feel free to post literally any and all titles you can think of and I can curate the list on my end if it gets too extensive.
I do have a flash rom 99, but no final grom. I do have multiple disk drives, extended basic carts, ram disk, etc., so a few other means to play things if it's possible to get them, just not the final grom cart sadly. I am willing to buy stuff from ebay though and I may already own the carts mentioned (I think I have around 100 various carts).
Bonus points if you can leave a link to where I can get the games
Thanks for any help - advice!

Reseated the widget, the 3 carts in it, the sd card in the flashrom99, the side port attachment, the ramdisk, the sams.....
That did the trick! Thanks guys! I was having a minor panick attack. ....amazingly I think the culprit might have been the flashrom99? I tried some bare carts and they worked fine, but when I tried to load anything from the fr99 it would either not load or just crash and beep. Fr99 seems to be working now though.... I just connected to a bbs through timxt. Regardless you all have my thanks!

When I turn on the pbox the ramdisk and 1mb smas cards light stay on also. Do I need new batteries?

Has any ever beat this? Because it is WAYYY more complicated than what is said above. There is a whole sequence with a cursor moving around and clicking on hitting things moving the cursor icons and enter keys and typing in some commanders in between. Anyway .... I FINALLY figured it out after ending up in Daventry a few time (iykyk).
Awesome game !!! Hope part 2 is coming
