  1. Greetings, I apologize in advance if this is somewhere else on the forum already. I was using CorComp Inc. Peripherial Diagnostic Module 1985 to test a 32k memory expansion. There are two options: 1.) Memory Bit Check 2.) Memory Retention Check The result is the same however: 1 & 2.) Error found at Address >2000 Value written >2000 Value read >2040 Press "Proceed" to Continue The only difference between the two seems to be that when I try the second option their is a countdown from 20. SIZE in XB reveals the full 24k in program memory. Question: What does this mean? Is it fixable? Thanks in advance.
  2. EDIT: That sounded dumb/selfish ...I'm glad it went to a good home. What I meant/should have said was 'I want one too!'
  3. Wow...I had no idea. I'll put this card on my list! ...4 empty slots to go. Thanks!
  4. What is that thing to the right of your monitor?
  5. Where is the double like for this....?!
  6. Well since I have kind of blown my budget recently, I won't be looking to buy any today. However.... If any of these boards come for sale, I am sure there will be a post on these forums somewhere? If not put me down the non-build-them-yourself variety. I have 5 slots to fill in my PEB so do your worst! While I can definitely appreciate people having an interest in building circuit boards and computer components, my interest lies in finding old discarded relics and giving them new life, seeing what was possible with the actual period hardware (or close to it). If reproductions are made that are clones (as you said), this is pretty cool too because it maintains the retro aspect of the machine and the fun in it (for me personally). It's not just shoving a PS4 in a NES shell and saying "holy crap, new NES mod it's amazeballs!" So yea... link me to any type of functioning board available if you would and I would be very grateful. (and have tons of questions after of course)
  7. a.) Maybe in the future? b.) I can't create this, but it's fun reading about all the new/old hardware that is around! c.) As soon as I get my UDS hooked up, haven't connected to a BBS in...20 years? d.) I am an avid video game collector, sometimes player This is what got me back into the TI as it was my first system. e.) Errr.... I think I have some real estate software? I should boot that up and see what it entails. My daughter loves to play early learning fun though! f.) Music? Don't tell me Stuart developed an MP3 player for the TI too. g.) If I ever dip my toes back into programming, perhaps.
  8. That has got to be the most depressing thing I've heard all day I guess the better question is are there ANY ti-99/4a compatible cards for sale...anywhere?? Some secret magical website that has a bunch of 30 year old NOS? ...ugh.
  9. I wish I could take credit for that. Chris Schneider sent me the link of what to buy! ...after like an hour with him on the phone, I finally figured out what those connectors were for, doh!
  10. Ha no! I have 4 slots open and if I remove the 32k card I will have 5 open slots. I am just trying to justify buying the external 32k lol. As for the other, I am still on the fence about modding my TI. I am pretty much running all original stuff except for the DSK2 enclosure. However, since I bought that lantronix UDS-10.... don't know if that counts, but I really want to connect to some BBSes. So with 5 open slots what would you recommend? I would LOVE a CorComp Triple Tech card and a Horizon RAMdisk. I guess that still leaves me with 3 empty slots? 3 more RAMdisks?
  11. So here is how I have it set up. With everything powered on I tested the speech synthesize, PEB, disk 1, disk 2. Everything seems to work. I also ran a SIZE test with just the external 32k hooked up and it is giving me 24K to the program so that is great! My question is: Do I have to have my configuration in this order? It seems that if I don't power on the external 32k that anything I have plugged into the right of it won't work. Also do I need to have the speech synthesizer first? I have an idea...since I have this external 32k, now I can remove the internal 32k card to make room for another PEB card right?
  12. Awesome!! I just bought all this stuff this morning: Once it comes I am sure I will have some questions how to hook it all up

  14. Just came in the mail today! Not the best condition ever, but I will clean out the ports, hook it up and cross my fingers!
  15. Some pretty amazing stuff here. But this is why we collect right? So we can show it all off??? Okay, maybe not.. we love the stuff. Anyway, I really got into retro video gaming a few years ago when I found some of my old NES stuff in the basement and my wife was threatening to throw it out. Since then it has been like a disease....must...get...more....games... The TI-99/4a was my first computer, console, game system, etc. I had one of these before my family owned a VCR. I love it and had to have one once I got back into retro gaming. Hooked up right now: n64, top loading nes, snes model 2, Saturn, genesis model 2, sega cd model 2. All hooked up to a 40" zenith CRT. I had a 50" Mitsubishi, but the light gun accuracy was balls so I gave it away. 400ish NES games, several boxed consoles, 50ish snes, 64, 100+ genesis, some sega cd and some okay Saturn (guardian heroes and house of the dead being the best of the Saturn) ... Yes I have a bunch of overflow crap.... always trying to organize more. Here are some pics of the game room.
  16. Not sure if I ever showed the finished product. Fully functional second disk drive now! Thanks again to everyone for the help!! P.S. It isn't quite finished until I put those dip switch packs in from ksarul and paint it silver, but this will do for now EDIT: Sorry for the shadow, not the best lighting in the game room.

  18. Check out the mouse in this photo. This person actually might be on these forums? I found this on the FTP site. Anyway, I can add another piece of hardware to my want list. Does anyone have any idea how rare this item is? I couldn't find any on eBay. EDIT: Arcadeshopper?
