Wow I never knew this existed! I knew about corcomps version of the peb, but never this.... That is awesome!!
-
I just mailed one off to him yesterday. I didn't test it, but for free hopefully it will do the trick
-
Awesome! I just ordered the disk drive that omega linked too also so I am sure I will need some help once it all arrives
-
Awesome thank you sir! I purchased a TEAC FD-55B on Jim's recommendation and so that will be coming in the mail soon! Hopefully I can find another one for a reasonable price or maybe I will get a 3.5" half height drive like Chris recommended. When it comes time to upgrade to 360K I will definitely ask for your assistance Thanks everyone for the help so far. This AA TI-99/4a forums group is just such an invaluable resource to the community. Such awesome people!!!

Any enclosures available for these drives? Do I need a nuclear generate to run this beast or will my PEB power it?
-
Will this work? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-TEAC-5-25-Internal-Floppy-Disk-Drive-FD-55f-03-U-/301836836695?hash=item4646e09f57:g:yTcAAOSwSHZWhASq Looks like it has the right edge connector on the back and the 4 pin molex connector? I do see a 55B but it is like 8X as much with shipping :\ I would need to do the DSR mod to use the drive in this link correct?
-
Oh man that would be awesome! Does anyone have the ability to test the 8" mod? I would totally buy a drive if I could find one for $200 or less working (...and knew that I could connect it to my TI)

So Rasmus made this amazing Mario game ... I get home from holidays at the in-laws and jump on AA and see that ...argh it is 180K. I have two 5.25" original full height floppy disk drives hooked up to a TI disk controller card in my PEB as DSK1 and DSK2. Both have a capacity of 360 or 90K, which has always been fine for me since I like the...errrr... 'challenge' of using original hardware sometimes. However... I did finally upgrade to the F18A when I just couldn't stand not having all the cool new stuff a year or less ago.. This begs the question: I have heard there is a way to modify the disk controller card so that my drives could be DSSD instead of SSSD or maybe it is SSDD(?), either way so they are 720 / 180K ? Second question: I have ZERO soldering skills (thank you Mathew Haggerty for the socketed f18a!), I do not even own a soldering iron. Is there an upstanding citizen who might be possibly willing to do this mod for me? I would pay for all of the shipping, parts, etc. of course. Maybe Fritz or Arcadeshopper? Shift838? Other fine people? I have an extra disk controller card so I could just send that without having to pull apart my current system. I could be totally wrong and this mod might not exist? Or maybe I don't have to solder to do it? Or maybe there is a card already available that I just need to buy somewhere? Thanks in advance for any help/direction! <EDIT -- ARGH how about 5.25">

I need this. P.S. Amazing podcast!!!! ....as Greg said, looking forward to the next 10 episodes. -
Okay I was switching a lot of carts and disks plus using the widget so maybe that was it.... Risk seems pretty sweet? Never really played the board game (don't hate me), but I figured since it was new to the TIgameshelf I would give it a go ....graphics look ok and sound is fine? ....so far lol, can't really progress.
-
So I blew up my ti and got the black screen with green text saying f18 and Matthew and tursi and rasmus And so..... Heh what did I do? System seems to work fine now but maybe too many cart swaps? Second question I downloaded risk but.... How the heck do I play it? I get to the map and I'm stuck? Thank in advance for any help!

Nothing else To related but I do have some other video game retro stuff. I think based on reactions though I will just sell it locally.

My screen says 63.04 in shipping. 42 dollars difference I guess based on location.

Hey guys, This is MY post. It is finally time to clean out the extra stuff lying around. I put shipping at 70 pounds at let eBay calculate the rest. Sorry if it seems overpriced? As for the untested part I haven't fired this thing up in 2/3 years and never as a whole unit. It did have some issues if I remember correctly it did run, but seemed to crash at times. I don't want to pull apart my current system and individually test each component (32k, power cable, fuses, disk controller card, flex cable interface card, connections, etc. etc. etc.). I thought by listing this as untested (which it is since it has been a few years) I would just save myself and the buyer the headache. If it all works perfect, great. if something doesn't work or needs to be cleaned? Well I think we have all been there. I tried to list the price WELL below normal eBay type auctions (Disk controller alone can go for $60?) to give someone a good deal starting out. I have dealt with Karsul, Shift838, Tony Knerr, Fritz and among others on this forum and hope that our interactions / sales / trades / etc. have all been agreeable. I do not want to be pegged as an eBay scammer, but I am not that. Thoughts? I will unpost this listing if the community at large thinks this is egregious.

Nice collection!!

I only met Tony earlier this year when he shipped me one of his amazing multi carts. He always was so helpful on this forum. A fountain of TI knowledge is lost forever. My thought and prayers to the family and friends, much too young.
