  1. Also the intro screen is different (with the Tooth) - FaceBook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/2209774843/permalink/10153251568954844/ The module has a 1981 sticker, but the game is from 1982 with the chain (guess the label was in between changing versions? or to get rid of the stickers :-) Just played the real-iron version (silver/black 1981), New high score 103080 with a Suzo The Arcade Joystick. (the only problem is that, because of NTSC the screen has all different colours on the LCD-screen), need to get a FPGA18A.
  2. Honestly until recently I did not know what Hoonos were and had to look it up. 250,000 wow! (I am installing my real iron now to see how far we come). But I was wondering who wrote this: "In level 20, 40, and 60, the maze is invisible and there are no chains" I was wondering if the author ever made it to that level (it is hard to get to 23!): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Munch_Man
  3. Since Opry99er started the gaming season this month with Munch-Man I just put this one together. hmmm, it reminds me of a movie which came out last month :-) TIXELS Play for the world in REAL 2D!

  5. Score: 100300 and 4x painful fingers (thumb is numb) To get as many points try to catch as many Hoonos as possible each time you eat the Texas shaped energizer (and wait until the Hoono is nearby). Every 10.000 you get an extra Munch-Man. Configuration * Classic 99 QI382 * (Joystick tick still enabled), but only used the keyboard. * Samsung S9 NP9003XA (8 Gb RAM, with SSD 128 HD) * connected USB keyboard (Atake AKB-5801) to USB 3 port to play the game (in reality thus 2x keyboards are connected, because of the laptop keyboard) * used E,S,D,X to play
  6. Interesting never heard of it? What is it suppose to test? FYI - to see how a P-code card runs in different emulators - https://www.youtube.com/c/Globeron-TI99VIDEOS (I have the P-code 4.x card, but I am not a specialist. There is someone in Netherlands who knows much more about it and wrote/is writing programs for it).
  7. Wow 423 lines of code (including comments) for 1 Print statement! Interesting finding btw.
  8. Tursi replied to me as well (had the same issue, it is done on purpose). To save files, use the other option TI files (not the image option)
  9. >> Not sure if this is the right area to post it, or to post it in the development area? (e.g. to reach out to Rasmus?) Just some idea: This is also an interesting one, my Oker joysticks (like the PS/3 or PS/4) are Dual-Shock / Vibrating joysticks. I was doing a TI-game (cannot remember) and for whatever reason it started to vibrate? (something triggered it). Now, I do not think it is possible with TI-games where there is no access to the source code, because it probably need to be programmed in the game itself, but maybe games like Road Hunter could make use of it (when you crash at the side of the road or hit a car) ?
  10. >> First of all works okay when using Joystick mode with the Joysticks (either USB-wired (I am using Top Tech brand) or USB-wireless (Oker brand)) >> I can also test with real PS/4 Joysticks, but that will not make my kid happy. >> When using Joy2Key (and settings are set to keyboard only), then everything works also okay. >> But like you said, when it is in Joystick mode and using Joy2Key, we get the "Jumper" movie effects: >> (or the person moving very fast in "X men days of future past" >> Video with a short fragment Munch-Man-Jumper.zip
  11. Opry99er --> have you invited the FaceBook TI99ers community already? (There are several gamers as well, not sure if they are on Atari Age) https://www.facebook.com/groups/2209774843/
  12. Also challenge your family / household members with "Munch-Man Dual-Screen" https://www.youtube.com/c/Globeron-TI99VIDEOS (direct link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cK5M8CPOjbo) Setup Play Munch-Man on 1 LCD screen with 2x players concurrently. Requirements: 1. PC/Desktop/laptop here it is running Windows 7 Pro - 64 bit 2. USB Joysticks either wired-USB or wireless USB tested are Oker Joysticks and Top-Tech Joysticks 3. Wired or Wireless Keyboard to control the PC 4. Wired or Wireless Mouse to control the PC 5. Classic99 version 3.82 is used here 6. Start Classic99 2x times 7. Configure Options Joysticks For Classic99 1, select Keyboard and Joystick 1 For Classic99 2, select Keyboard and Joystick 2 (I have not tried other emulators, like MESS, V9T9, JS99er.net, etc.)
  13. It is for sure faster (but I need to find a way to show it in parallel between the emulator and the real iron and probably on the same LCD-screen? I am not too sure if that can impact the speed or also called "QoE - Quality of Experience"?) P.S. Also found something fun, when using the Joy2Key (see other post) and leave it on Joystick in the emulator, then it slows down all movements (like you mentioned), but then suddenly it goes fast forward (very fast, like in the movies "jumper" and the guy in "x men days of future past" who can move fast) I guess it is catching up with the keystrokes, I need to see if I can capture this somehow, it is hilarious seeing Munch Man going at this speed !
  14. With the "PS/2, PS/3, or Oker type of joysticks and the emulators it is hard to take the corners) (first I thought it is the wireless 2.4 GHz interference, but it is the same with directly connected USB -joysticks) but it is better with the keyboard (I used a wireless keyboard). Use the keys E,S,D,X based on advice of Vextrex Roli's mother (See Vectrex Roli 8.16 min onwards) 9.36 min. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SchoOrUGnp8 After the 20th screen, it starts to play and count from screen 01 again: Score: 72870
  15. Munch Man and Multitasking -- MMM (in case you have 2x people who want to play on the same system) If you start Classic99 - 2x times and you configure the (USB-Joysticks) different in each emulator, then you can play with 2x persons at the same time on the same PC! (this is really cool !), Play it on a large LCD-screen and with wireless joysticks you can sit at the couch.
  16. Good idea! (I guess it is going to impact my business (depending on the game), but I can do it on the laptop while travelling), Since the Pixels movie is out a good moment to start :-) (I remember as a kid I created a paper based graphical 3D-score list, now wondering where it is, probably in NL). While the SHIFT838 newsletter is great, we assume that nobody is using the Shift 8-3-8 in MunchMan! Not sure if I am running 50 Hz here, or if there is a difference in speed between the real iron consoles ? (silver/black /4, /4A, beige /4A /4AQI) Emulators: * Note that Classic99 runs faster than real iron! The other alternatives we have are js99er.net, V9T9, MESS, TIW99/4 and a few others, let me try to do a comparison. BTW - I like that Air Defense screenshot of the book (I did not know that existed for TI-99/4A, coincidentally I setup the "Motorola AirDefense business" (WiFi Wireless intrusion prevention system business) for APAC in 2009-2012. Timezone here is: GMT+8 (Singapore) and GMT+7 (Thailand)
  17. Windows 7, Chrome works (via a green screen first and then the game), for Donkey Kong somehow it goes through a whole sequence via E/A module. (others IE and Firefox do not work and remains as a grey screen) http://atariage.com/forums/topic/241510-in-browser-ti-emulator/?p=3297297
  18. Correct me if I am wrong? But I do not think it is a new TI emulator as it runs "TI-99/4A javascript emulator powered by js99er.net" which means it is all the hard work done by Rasmus M. to create this emulator (js99er.net or js99er.net/fullscreen.html). [Edit] >> just saw the other post with the linkage to js99er.net approval I have seen somewhere a post where people asked how to load a module directly into the emulator without selecting it manually (to make it easier, like is done in TI Game room) I just tried the TI game room, but it does not load the game: while js99er.net works:
  19. RED Not sure how detailed we want to go (and if it means something ? Just wondering why the would do this in a standardized production process line), 1. There are differences in the on/off switches as well Here is the red switch (of the Beige QI 1981 software): 2. ** I do not know if there is a Beige with a red switch without the strip**), I quickly checked on eBay, but most of them are in "off position" so I cannot see red or blue) BLUE 1. This website has a blue on/off (for the normal version), AND it has the blue stripe: http://www.mainbyte.com/ti99/computers/ti99beige.html 2. but my Beige has a blue switch without the blue stripe:
  20. Re: .... which one do you mean ? I can not figure out. >> the 2nd line where all TI's are listed the TI /4 --> (9900/N Normal Pin) --> I think this is a BIG Pin as well.
  21. I did not change the CRC/SHA1, but I saw the message that ROM/CHD are incorrect, but entered OK and it came up with the CDC. I was just curious to see if it ran, but I am waiting for the official version for MAME (which I still have trouble with to get the list of consoles), MESS works okay, but I cannot get the same setup in MAME 0.164 at the moment with QMC-MAME or MAMAUIFX yet. (and stuck to use MESS 0.157). PS it is not that urgent, I will look another time into it (was testing the Speech with Parsec today (see JS99er.net thread), but had similar glitches with Speech in MESS).
  22. > the 2nd entry US version, I think the 9900/N is also a BIG-pin one > (there are adapters which look the same as the 9900/N "shoe model" > I think these are 9900/N2 for /4A models, which have normal pins and a blue rubber inside the plug to differentiate) >For the P/N model, mine indicates also a "P" (but it is engraved with a Pen), like PHC0004M P" (I think for PAL modulator) > For the beige QI version, it is a red marker (also red on the switch itself, like a little stripe)
  23. I like the openers (since we are talking about Atari, have you seen the movie Pixels? many Atari games inside the movie and also for TI: "Centipede", "Donkey Kong", "Pac-Man") and the Parker Brothers ones: Q-bert, Frogger and a few others? (Galaxy invaders? and some other games in the background "Paper-boy", "Mario" and a few othes, the red-dress lady one with the swords I do not know) you can google "viooz pixels" (but you are on you own for the next clicks)
  24. It is the QI version, it works with the existing TI-99/4A-QI Rom (I renamed the files for MESS to the 994gr0.bin, etc. format it loads with the MESS 0.157
  25. Not too sure if you are looking for this one, but I remember this one from the past "Copy-C", but have not tried it recently: http://home.arcor.de/system-ninety-nine-user-group/util/index_e.htm http://home.arcor.de/system-ninety-nine-user-group/util/copyc_pd_e.pdf and German version: http://home.arcor.de/system-ninety-nine-user-group/util/index.htm EDIT: (this is on your CF-card image already (see other Atari-post) Now I remember, the benefit is that it can copy non-standard disks, like UCSD-Pascal disks or PR-BASE disks and a few more (but any other bit-per-bit or sector copier should be able to do that as well). Other utilities are Disk Utilities 4.2 from John Birdwell
