Is he bringing the TI alive via the I/O port ? I like the blue-ish / grey design btw.

The Arcade joystick cannot get better than 17.55 at the moment: http://www.globeron.com/freedownload/services/TI99/Sports-TheArcade1755.jpg Great game. like Decathlon on Atari! Look fwd to the other 9 games coming up, I remember there was a 400m one ... and 1600m run ...? (I noticed that the timer of the 1st player is not running until the end-result).

Hi Gazoo, 1. The BASICLOAD works now (via TI-basic - option Z) also on my system with the nano-PEB, 2. but now does the XB27 + Load does not work (it gives an Bad Argument in 110 error during autoload) 3. but via option B -- TI Writer Grom load works. For option 1 and 3 all is F6 Green verification. One question, I am getting confused about the versions: 1. the .zip upload shows 061315XB27.zip 2. inside is a .dsk file for the upgrade called 060715XB27.dsk 3. when pressing F7 it shows May 13, 2015 (with a blue border) To double check, is this the latest version?

Hi Gazoo, In the end we want the Texas to say the following (listen to the wav file): http://www.globeron.com/freedownload/services/TI99/Greeting.zip (just kidding) I need to spend some time to check if this works (as I am not an assembly person, but I can learn): This is from the Editor Assembler manual (Speech section). http://www.globeron.com/freedownload/services/TI99/SpeechExample-fromEAmanual-.pdf Assembly code: Article 22.2.1 with an example to say "Hello". Not to sure how easy it is to use the resident vocabulary (like to do as the PEB-card built-in Speech Synthesizer card, it only says the following): (from Appendices - EA manual) >6696 Texas Instruments >363E Home >2034 Computer

Hi Jim, The card looks different - SNUG SPVMC: * http://home.arcor.de/system-ninety-nine-user-group/spvmc/index.htm I am not sure which one of the following started to talk first during startup: * Rave http://www.globeron.com/freedownload/services/TI99/Rave-and-Speech-connected.jpg (Rave) http://www.globeron.com/freedownload/services/TI99/Rave-SpeechSynthesizer-adapter-forPEB-box.jpg (Speech Synth) http://www.globeron.com/freedownload/services/TI99/SpeechSynthesizer-withoutcover.jpg * I think this one: http://www.globeron.com/freedownload/services/TI99/PEB-Adapter-for-SpeechSynthesizerFront-Speechmountedsmallerpiece.jpg http://www.globeron.com/freedownload/services/TI99/PEB-Adapter-for-SpeechSynthesizerBack-Speechmountedsmallerpiece.jpg * (Not too sure if the TI-GG / Dutch Hardware group created a card on its own, I vaguely remember this, I need to search the "TIjdingen magazines)

(I need to do a bit research on this, but from the Extended Basic module, normally you can do CALL SAY("Texas Instruments home computer") to use the built-in words (I need to verify the exact command later as I am outside now) Here is some Assembly code related to the SNUG card: http://home.arcor.de/system-ninety-nine-user-group/spvmc/spvmc_e.pdf
-
Ksarul mentioned that the SNUG SPVMC has it built-in speech during start-up of the TI: http://home.arcor.de/system-ninety-nine-user-group/spvmc/index_e.htm * There is software on this website (but I think only the roms by SNUG group?), not too sure if this is the assembly code. but it looks like a different card, the one I saw was one where you put the Speech Synthesizer board on top of it (I will try to find the pictures): Something like this: * http://www.mainbyte.com/ti99/speech_peb/speech_peb.html * http://www.unige.ch/medecine/nouspikel/ti99/speech.htm#in%20PEbox

Just got triggered by Vector Roli video. See other thread about Speech. Based on the inventor of the PEB box built-in speech card version where it starts to talk when turning on the computer. Would it be possible with XB2.7 when you turn on the computer that it starts talking automatically #Texas Instruments Home Computer# Or something configurable? With different sentences. Or is it going to drive people crazy? Maybe an on/off option?

The game Barrage uses 2 joysticks at the same time. And i believe Blasto too. Maybe more but need to go through the list.

8 Classic Speech Synthesizer Games for the TI-99/4A
globeron replied to vectrexroli's topic in TI-99/4A Computers
Great video as always! Do we have a list of all modules/games that supports Speech? Probably Ralf has. Lasso is another classic. "Oh no the sheep busted out". Btw for the expansion built-in PEB box card with speech synthesizer I came along one that starts to speak when you turn on the computer. #Texas Instruments home computer# who invented that? Great idea!- 10 replies

The fastest way in my view is to use Extended Basic and enter SIZE. It will list 2 lines showing the memory size. Otherwise only one line.

PR Base is easy in setup and use. I just tried it using the emulators (classic 99, v9t9) and all works (as PR BASE makes use of a special disk format) but it all worked using the V9T9.dsk format (it is transparent to the emulators).

TI-99/4 (not 4A) power supply AC9900/N (not N2)
globeron replied to globeron's topic in TI-99/4A Computers
Good news, after replacing the fuses I got the TI-99/4 with volume slider, internal speaker and sound jack to work! (only the red indicator led light does not work). Note the AC9900/N adapter (not /N2 !) has 3x fuses (the T315mA is a bit difficult to see when it is in the plastic cover) [Edit] -> this is a 220V adapter (for Europe) Thus: 1x 160 mA 1x 2A 1x T 315mA It is a European version TI-99/4 and it works with a PAL-modulator (similar as the one for TI-99/4A), the sound comes both from the TI-99/4 itself (via the internal speaker) or via the sound-jack in the front, but at the same time via the LCD-screen as well. Tip: Sometimes the TI hangs (the typical Texas hang-up sound) during startup with the PAL modulator, but without PAL modulator you can verify if the TI starts (as it has an internal volume speaker, then you will get the normal beep), plug the PAL modulator back in/out a few times when needed and the screen is back (not sure what is causing this, but it works). Hi Ralf - it was great to meet you 2 weeks ago and a great job you are doing with all the archives! (the German style "Grundligkeit", very very very complete, I am impressed). I had never seen the book "Cracking 99/4A !"

P-code works in Classic99 (you need to edit the .ini file) to select the original diskcontroller (see the video for details)

Last week I ran the JS99er.net on an LG smart TV (50") using WebOS, works all okay. But I could not hear sound somehow. (I will not have the ability to test this again, just some feedback and was fun to test). Pacman was running a bit slow as well.

How to print from a TI emulator via RS232 to text or PDF ?
globeron replied to globeron's topic in TI-99/4A Computers
Maybe using this type of software ? * http://www.aggsoft.com/tcp-com/download.htm * http://www.aggsoft.com/com-port-emulator.htm -
How can we print from a TI emulator via RS232 to text or PDF ? Has someone done this before? 1. To print from an emulator (like Classic99, v9T9, JS99er or MESS) via the RS232 interface (emulated) and print to a text or PDF format (e.g. using CutePDF). 2. Is a Com port emulator required in between (and how to do the mapping from the emulator) or can we redirect to a tool like TI Print ? PS - I am familiar with Fred Kaal's TI Print (using a normal TI, print via RS232 to the TI-print server running on a PC and from there print to anywhere). http://www.ti99-geek.nl/Projects/ti99print/ti99print.html

European AC 9900/N version with the "bigger pin-hole": (from Mr. Antoon in Netherlands, hope this one will work!) http://www.pic-upload.de/view-27337452/20150610_060712.jpg.html http://www.pic-upload.de/view-27337453/20150610_060827.jpg.html http://www.pic-upload.de/view-27337454/20150610_060809.jpg.html http://www.pic-upload.de/view-27337455/20150610_061412.jpg.html http://www.pic-upload.de/view-27337456/20150610_061432.jpg.html -
TI-99/4 (not 4A) power supply AC9900/N (not N2)
globeron replied to globeron's topic in TI-99/4A Computers
Thanks Ksarul! Ralf - Yesterday I have also seen the "large" adapters, but AC 9900/N2 format, the plug has blue color inside (like the 99000/N2) I forgot to make the pictures, but I made the one of the AC9900/N. Will show tomorrow, then we can update the .xls as well. -
TI-99/4 (not 4A) power supply AC9900/N (not N2)
globeron replied to globeron's topic in TI-99/4A Computers
There is some light in the tunnel, the electronics shop said the N9000 adapter looks okay to them. For the .xls table pictures should be added I think to avoid confusion. -
Helping out here Stargames / Dave, I think he can ship to Canada if you send him an e-mail directly. He is doing the same to Singapore. Contact Dave at: info@stargames.be I have been communicating with him and he is fast (and e-mail is in English :-))
