(I have not looked into gamebase) but if you need rpk, these 300+ all work with mame (in the batocera build). And some addendum of latest games in the forum. But eg. Avaris II is not there yet.
-
@Goochman normally I run Batocera from a USB drive, also I have issues in v35 as well ad v36 with TI not running, try to repeat opening it then sometimes after a while it suddenly opens. I think also to do with the GPU card it seems to detect it first (my older laptop seems to have this issue) I also noticed something to do with USB Controllers, try to unplug. Try only with a keyboard to open TI If that all does not work, do a factory reset that worked for me Log in through SSH, then enter: /etc/init.d/S31emulationstation stop mv /userdata/system /userdata/system.old reboot

I made a video….but now I saw the wow 150k score! I need to go back to the drawing board.

@mizapf eat as many ghosts per pill and jumping fruit if possible that increases the score rapidly. Also move between side of screen through the tunnel as ghosts follow Ms Pac-man. You are right there are traps and try to clear them asap or when no ghosts are nearby. I also find Ms.Pac-Man kind of slow, later levels things speed up, but not like Munch-Man also my favorite! In Batocera/Mame I can change settings to speed up with frame skipping, then Ms. Pac-Man goes faster. I compared with the real TI but it is slow as well. @tmop69 that’s my goal as well to break the 100K score, it is not so easy and did not find a pattern to play to go single path, eat all ghosts and fruits in 1 go.

89,300 Batocera/Mame with Suzo Joystick 🕹 (And 61,350 on a single Ms. Pac-man, extra life at 10,000).

The best is the real iron (I am using a full system with PEB), but what you need is a FinalGROM (games are on the SD-card) and 32K expansion and joysticks, then it is easy and fast to add games to your real TI-99/4A If you like emulator, go for Batocera (based on MAME and same speed performance like a TI-99/4A), I use it on an USB (boot from USB on any PC) and connect to a large TV screen I put the 300+ games package together (on ftp.whtech.com) install in \share\ti99\roms (and \ti99\bios), it includes image preview and video previews. see the video here:

Message to myself.... the diskdrive cable need to be replaced or a loose connector is the issue (after troubleshooting for 8 hours). GOTEK FLASHFLOPPY works like a charm. Really love the flexibility accessing Floppy DiskS via USB and it is hot pluggable as well. Easy to upgrade/downgrade via the (gotek) .upd file. Now running at 3.39 version.

Nice game! just played in js99er.net, but slows down the movements when keep pressing arrows not sure why. will try the real TI tomo.
-
Just got my 2nd FinalGROM for my other TI.@arcadeshopper and testing the module now with Dig Dug. 72,360 on real TI. I really like the variation of the sound and music in this game (a bit similar like Burger Time :-)) not sure I am going to do another attempt for 108K. But I just learned that you can earn some bonus when new icons appear (the icons of the difficulty levels), and earn more point when dropping stones of the enemy (maybe I should read the manual).

0.251 I downloaded it last Saturday and overwrote all the files of .234. Maybe that was not the proper way to upgrade it. I can do a new install. https://www.mamedev.org/release.html I saw your post bout .251

Here are the benchmark results mame gives errors, mame64 runs okay. I switched back to mame64 and reduced the command line. It now runs at 98% and set GPL speed to 1. Now seems to be all good with the sound and speech!
-
I upgraded to Mame 0.251 now, average speed 77.43% - 79.04% * with bench 20 I get a lot of errors. but it seems the sound issue is only GPL mode related (in ABASIC Speech and Sound work okay). * I changed now from MYGPL 7.30 to GPL 6.50 and put the GPL SPEED to 1 so far it works better with the sound. mame.exe geneve -bios 1.00 -skip_gameinfo -mouseprovider dinput -colorbus busmouse -peb:slot3 horizon -peb:slot4 speech -peb:slot5 tirs232 -peb:slot8 hfdc -peb:slot8:hfdc:h1 generic -peb:slot8:hfdc:h2 generic -peb:slot8:hfdc:h3 generic -peb:slot8:hfdc:f3 525dd -peb:slot8:hfdc:f4 525dd -hard1 disks\OS7.hd -hard2 disks\FDRIVE.hd -hard3 disks\PSYSNEW2.HD -flop1 disks\mouse1.dsk -flop2 disks\DSKA0133-QBFIX.dsk -flop3 disks\DSKABOOT.dsk -flop4 disks\DSKA0004-80.dsk -serl1 socket.localhost:10000 Changed to mame.exe geneve -bios 1.00 -skip_gameinfo -peb:slot4 speech -peb:slot8 hfdc -peb:slot8:hfdc:h1 generic -peb:slot8:hfdc:h2 generic -peb:slot8:hfdc:h3 generic -peb:slot8:hfdc:f3 525dd -peb:slot8:hfdc:f4 525dd -hard1 disks\OS7.hd -hard2 disks\FDRIVE.hd -hard3 disks\PSYSNEW2.HD -flop1 disks\mouse1.dsk -flop2 disks\DSKA0133-QBFIX.dsk -flop3 disks\DSKABOOT.dsk -flop4 disks\DSKA0004-80.dsk

Just did the same tests on my much more powerful laptop Lenovo Ideapad 5 with an older Mame64 older 0.226 version, but all sound is good on this laptop (Windows 11 x64) . (so I guess I need to find either the process interruption the audio)
-
I think I need to set some sound adjustment as it seems it distorts or repeats or so in my gpl timode. Using mame64. Version 0234 On laptop windows 10 x64 i5 2467M. 1.6Ghz. 8gb ram. 20230211_150628.mp4 20230211_145838.mp4 20230211_145630.mp4

(Part 1) Not all windows settings work. Like still have a windows logo om startup (used hackgnpt) Username still appears (enabled all registry settings), Taskbar still is there as it takes time to boot. And in Mame need to press a key (but understood that cannot be turned off in mame? .cc @mizapf) I used my own Geneve batch file setups. Still need to test usb mouse and joysticks (usb to db9) and a Floppy Disk (would be nice to have something like flashfloppy usb disks that I use on the real Geneve).

+ some beige consoles has a blue or red colored switch (not sure if it relates to the original main board and QI main board). + also the silver ones have different type of keyboards (mylar / brown bottom, and better mechanical one / green bottom) +keyboards are also different (round shaped keys, square keys, a place to shift in the FCTN-labels or put it on top (and need to glue it to avoid it falls off). + international keyboards (e.g. Spanish) +cases with the solid state label at the front (where normally a TI-99/4 version had the volume slider / old casing) and newer casing without that part. I have 6x different TI-99/4As

Just got to know the very sad news. I know Berry since I was a kid (around 1983) and I always liked his Amsterdam sense of humor! During my recent period back in Netherlands 2018-2020 we had fun again with the TI-GG-NL group and Berry always came back with something new (like modules out of USA, magazines, etc.), he was a pioneer before the internet existed to bring this knowledge to us in the early days. As chairman of the TI-GG Berry gave me this article last time and I would like to share this with TI-99'ers: History of the TI-GG (Texas Instruments - Gebruikers Group (User Group) Netherlands), written in Dutch language. Geschiedenis TI-GG - Berry Harmsen.doc With Berry around we always had a lot of fun and that's how I want to remember him, even in the hospital we were joking an adjusted the monitor picture to a TI-99/4A screen! Thank you Berry for all what you have done for many of us to bring the people together and rest in piece. Interview: Why is the TI so important for you? Translation of the video:BerryHarmsen.docx
