  1. Atariopenbox project is listed on Atarimania. ============================= The Atariopenbox.com Research Project was listed on the best Atari content page in the world, the Atarimania.com website. In the recently redesigned links section, the authors recommend 10 sites for those interested in strictly Atari subjects, with emphasis on: Atari Compendium by Scott Stilphen (@Scott Stilphen) which features a lot of content and historical interviews. The Atariage community website, one of the most famous, with great forum activity, managed by Albert Yarusso (@Albert). Matt Reichert's (@Tempest) Atariprotos with the inside scoop on game prototypes. In addition to Atariopenbox, a research project to reconstruct the Atari 2600 game series, among others. The recognition endorses the importance of certifying the series and versions of games released by Atari throughout its history. The need for a methodology was necessary to validate small and large collections. The project also presents Atari-authorized distributions released around the world. In addition to articles and supporting texts, interested parties also have access to complete documentation on the use of the research. The project, which began four years ago, has the ultimate goal of producing a book. Initially the content is organized into three volumes, Atari Industry, large development companies and small development companies. Thanks @Rom Hunter, extending to the entire Atarimania group for recommending and supporting the project. 2. Polyvox list published! =============== The list of games licensed by Atari Inc. and distributed by Polyvox in Brazil is already published, the list contains 26 games in silver boxes and 1 game, Missile Command, in a small white box that accompanied the video game internally. I would like to thank Leandro Sá (@HSW3ET) for sharing the list published on the AtariBrazil Forum of versions and variations of Polyvox games and also thank Hélio Ferraz (@Sr. Ferraz) for sharing the images of the Polyvox boxes for use in the research project. Hope you enjoy! Polyvox Distribution: www.atariopenbox.com/atari-2600-box-collection/polyvox-distribution/06-1915
  3. Polyvox distribution, the last frontier! ========================= After a preliminary analysis, I finally understood that I should include games licensed in Brazil by Atari Inc. in the research project, even though the boxes and manuals are not listed in the internal catalog of Atari Inc. (PCBs and ROMs are listed). Probably one of the reasons for the parts not being produced by Atari would be the law at the time in force on imports in Brazil, in addition to the language barrier, which also occurred in Japan and would not have been an impediment. Therefore, in addition to the Japan (JPN) and Monaco (NZL) distribution, I will include the Polyvox (BRA) distribution in the Atari Inc game catalog research project. I will publish the list soon!
  4. Box version "Made in Taiwan" Atari Inc. ========================== I added the boxed version of the color series with registration C017877 printed in Taiwan to the project. I identified four games: Combat, Home Run, Football and Bowling, all boxes with a standard opening flap, copyright 1978 Atari Inc., without graphic information and printing date on the inner side flap of the box. To learn more visit: https://www.atariopenbox.com/atari-2600-box-collection/color-series/c017877 See you soon!

  6. Fixes and updates with supporting information! =============================== While I am working on the Atari Corp period timeline, I decided to post supporting content for better understanding of the information in the version tables and also supplemental information on the Atari Inc timeline. Some contents were not consistent enough to make the information understandable and sometimes it was a little confusing. So always scroll the page to the footer to get the most out of the information. I will always remain attentive in search of improvements in the pages as well as inclusions of records. See you soon!
  7. A more organized and condensed timeline! ============================ I updated the timeline session in order of Atari game releases. The new format allows for faster updates, easier searches and a better understanding of the series. Now simultaneously you will be able to see all released versions of a game from the period Inc. or Corp. Still within the improvements I added the Monaco Distributors line. And the period Inc. is now available: 1977, 1978, 1979, 1980, 1981, 1982, 1983 and 1984!

  9. Gray and Color Corp box series are published! ============================== With a lot of effort and work, I managed to finish all the series that needed to be migrated to the new format! I am also removing access to the old pages of the website! I started to organize and update the timeline session in a new model! To see updated pages: Children Corp. (CA019739) Color Corp. (CA019739) Color Corp. (CA019744) Gray Corp. (CA019739/A) See you soon!
  10. Multi-language version of the red box series (CA400076) is published! ============================================== I published the list of multi-language boxes ending the series of red boxes. Remembering that I will be checking possible errors and making necessary corrections and updates of the information throughout the work. I hope you like the result. Access: www.atariopenbox.com/atari-2600-box-collection/red-series-corp/ca400076
  11. Haunted House Prototype Box! ==================== The book Art of Atari by Tim Lapetino dedicates two pages to the graphic proposals created by Steve Hendricks to illustrate the game Haunted House. The first was vetoed even though it was the coolest, so a second proposal was created and approved that we all know. Today we will be able to see Steve Hendricks' original proposal through the prototype box I found in the items sent by Clint! I'm providing photos of the set that comes with the international version and in PAL format, kindly provided by Clint @Buckaroo! Hope you like it! BOX CART MANUAL
  12. Thanks for the support and help! About the Breakout game version, there is only the printing period difference between the boxes. One was manufactured in January 1980 and the other in April 1981, both manufactured by ADPAK - San Francisco. Significantly, there is no difference between the boxes, both contain the same opening format and the same print revision number! As for the set of items that would accompany, I would need to do a more specific analysis to identify the manual, game catalog and/or cartridge label versions. I hope to have contributed in this matter.
  13. The red boxes series, version CA400075 (one language) is published! ============================================= The first part of the series of red boxes is now available, I prioritized in the information the editions (copyrights) and validations of each version, according to the new organization of research contents. The first games of the red box version Jr. Pac-Man, Midnight Magic, and Solaris contain Atari Corp.'s generic catalog numbering, they are also the only games to feature copyrighted versions of the 1986 edition and Tap Flap box opening cover. I still have to do some checks for possible content fixes over time. I hope you like the result. Access the listing at the link: www.atariopenbox.com/atari-2600-box-collection/red-series-corp/ca400075

  15. Multi-Language Silver Boxes Atari Corp! ========================== I have added the multi-language (international) version of the Corp period silver box series to the website. I kept the condensation of information, respecting the editions (copyrights), their variations and registration variants to facilitate reading. Hope you like it, let's go: www.atariopenbox.com/atari-2600-box-collection/silver-series-corp/ca019744 Note: I have abbreviated manufacturing records for easier access to information.
  16. Starting the Corp period update! ===================== After a while of fine-tuning the Inc. period box series, it's time to include the Corp. period box series in the new modeling. I added the series of silver boxes of a language, condensing as much information as possible, respecting the editions (copyright), their variations and registration variants. Hope you like it: https://www.atariopenbox.com/atari-2600-box-collection/silver-series-corp/ca019739 Note: I have abbreviated manufacturing records for easier access to information.
  17. HUNT & SCORE GREEN BOX (C011822 | GAME PROGRAM) ====================================== Through my friend @groundtrooper contact, we identified a green box from the Hunt & Score game with a P sticker on the opening cover of the box on FB. That forced a search for more information about the color variation. In contact with Mark Maxwell, owner of the game, he has kindly made photos available for addition to research and specialized websites. Like its sister, Hunt & Score pink box, the green version does not contain industry and date of manufacture, I cannot state its exact period. I believe the box may be from the period of change of name of the game to "A Game of Concentration". I have already validated and included the new color variation of the box in the survey and I provide below images with details of the version. Once again, a special thanks to Mark for providing images from the Hunt & Score game.
  18. Agree, this line of boxes are very elegant. The Polivox line in Brazil is very similar, however the boxes do not receive the Atari Inc catalog numbers.
  19. Monaco updated on the research project! ============================ I received updates from the Monaco line (Atari Inc. Silver Series Box) from New Zealand. @HolmesA8 provided box photos of Air-Sea Battle, Asteroids, Outlaw, Pac-Man, Phoenix and Vanguard. And respectively information from catalog records! I'm sharing the photos to update the specialized sites! Thanks for the collaboration Aaron Wheeler! Of the six games added, three new records were validated: C010743-49 Asteroids SF (Standard Flap Box Silver | PAL | Atari Inc.) C010743-73 Phoenix SF (Standard Flap Box Silver | PAL | Atari Inc.) C010743-69 Vanguard SF (Standard Flap Box Silver | PAL | Atari Inc.)
  20. Monaco Distributors inserted in the research project! =================================== After some time in the search for evidence, in the recent collaboration made by @atarinut76 with photos of catalog records of four games acquired, we can say that the Monaco line is an integral part of the Atari Inc. Classic line-up, Monaco Distribuitors contains single language boxes with PSN C019743 and multi-language boxes with PSN C019785, all boxes feature Standard Flap lid opening and the games are in PAL video format. Games like Yars Revenge, Pac-man, Air-Sea Battle, Missile Command, Berzerk, among others get an elegant silver outfit! Thanks for the collaboration Matt Tajc! 21. WEBSITE UPDATE: ============ After a long time, I'm returning the box versions updates and validations information. I added eight new versions and validated fifteen existing version records. 22. Transition boxes between versions! ====================== During the search for new versions and box validations, I was struck by a specific version manufactured in the first half of 1981. They were the first boxes launched with a white warranty box and © out of the warranty box. They have a standard style opening format (Standard Flap) and were manufactured by ADPAK San Francisco in the period March to May 1981. These boxes received catalog records from the previous version (C014060 | C011822 ) and some contain handwritten font style. So far I've identified 05 games made in this version: Slot Racers, Warlords, Pele's Soccer, Missile Command and Asteroids. List of games manufactured in this version: https://www.atariopenbox.com/atari-2600-box-collection/color-series/c017039-v1 I'm posting photos for everyone interested! The image presents the records of the games: Missile Command, Pele's Soccer, Warlords and Asteroids
  23. Basketball game version of the gray box series, ©1986 edition. ======================================= On August 20, 2022, the 1986 edition of the game Basketball from the gray box series was identified on Ebay. Although we had the 1986 edition game cartridge classified on specialized research sites, the box and manual that make up the set were still missing. @groundtrooper collected this gem and kindly provided the records for validation and registration on the specialized websites. The records are: Box: ©1986, Tap Flap, PSN: CA019739-24 / A REV. 1, manufactured KUANG IH August 1986, Printed in TAIWAN Manual: ©1986, C019741-24 / A REV. 1, printed August 1986 K.I. 24. I'm looking for versions of Pole Position from the Corp period. to add to the search catalog. What versions do you have in your collection?
  25. Full update Atari Inc. ============== Updated all Atari Inc series boxes. (338 versions). Upcoming updates will be the Atari Corp period box series.
