A new organization of contents with the same work methodology. =========================================== More than a year ago I structured a new organization to present the research contents on the website, more precisely it was on June 25, 2021 that I identified the need for this change. A more objective modeling of the presentation of information has become essential, as well as the need to include more details such as the format of opening boxes. The site has already started to receive changes, so when browsing you may find some links under construction. I appreciate the understanding of all visitors at this time of suitability. You can find the old fully functional structure at the end of the navigation menu called “Old Site”.

THE NEW FRONTIERS OF ATARI 2600 COLLECTIONS ================================== After the Space Invaders silver label cartridge, in multi-language silver series boxes from Atari Inc. (PSN C019785-32 REV. 1) found in Canada, now it's time for the silver Asteroids cartridge in Mexico! Although we only now have a CIB version of Asteroids, it wasn't the first time I came across this version in Mexico. June 18, 2020 (Wednesday - 2:00 PM BRT) ============================ On FB's Marktplace, my radar pointed to the Monterrey region, Nuevo León state in Mexico, in search of uncataloged versions, I came across for the first time the silver-labeled version of Asteroids Atari Inc. Despite knowing the silver versions of Atari Corp. and distributions released as the Polivox version made in Brazil (Asteroids: label without curves at the ends ©1979 Atari Inc.) and the Monaco version made in New Zealand (Asteroids: label with softer curves at the ends ©1981 Atari Inc.). All the features of the version matched like a genuine Atari Inc. silver series version USA. Many doubts arose such as: Where and how would this label have arrived in Mexico? And in which boxed version would it have accompanied it? Initially more logical would it be a boxed version in the multi-language format? But I never even had a clue of a silver Asteroids game box. Could it also be in a promotional box? Very unlikely. May 27, 2022 (Friday - 9:30 AM BRT) ======================== Almost 2 years later, we have a CIB version identified, initially found in Mexico and now in the possession of James Wachter. The CIB version is from the Japanese series that comes with this beautiful cartridge version, the box (PSN C019716-49) and manual (PSN C019718-49) made in the USA and both ©1981 Atari Inc. James Wachter kindly photographed and sent the images to be cataloged in the Atari 2600 game research databases and websites. Thank you James for this unique opportunity! See the photos.

Printing Date on Atari 2600 Game Box Flaps
daniel.inforede replied to Random Terrain's topic in Atari 2600
Hello, today looking for some not yet found versions of Atari game boxes for the research project, I found this printer brand on a black label series box manufactured in 1983. I had never seen anything similar among known printers! Does anyone have any information about it? -
ZARKSTARS: 1st COMPARTMENT | BOSS ========================== The game is very challenging, at the level of many Arcade and without losing the original Atari 2600 identity. Here is the moment of the boss attack at the end of the first compartment!

That was my line of reasoning, why invest in a unique label and mold to ship a common game? Why haven't we seen other games with this cartridge model? And in which regions were they sold? I suspect it may have been marketed in countries that would have no problems with copyrights or licenses for sale.

Great news, congratulations, count 100 percent with me! His working technique is infallible and will add a lot to the collectors of the Atari 7800. I think it would be important to start collecting REV, PSN and information about the printing industry at the very beginning, this can help to clear up a lot of doubts in the course of the work. Regards Daniel

ATARI CORP: RED SERIES COMPLETE! ========================= Moving forward in the gaming timeline, today I completed the Red Label series. The boxes do not contain revision numbers or letters on their tabs. Only catalog number information and data on printing dates. The games started in 1986 with the launch of Jr. Pac-man, Midnight Magic and Solaris, the first boxes are in the opening format Tap Flap and catalog record CA019739. I kept the same organization format: The release year, for new games; In case of repack or relaunch, the year of copyright (©) of the box and / or cartridge. Any documentary evidence, such as internal sales reports for the period and copyright of manuals and certificates, will be recorded for future analysis. Order of publication by series: Gray series (complete) Red series (complete) Children Corp series (in progress) Color Corp series (awaiting) Access: www.atariopenbox.com/timeline

ATARI CORP: TIMELINE IN PROGRESS! ========================== From the gray labels, I started to organize the game series of the Corp period in the timeline session. With items mixed between 1984 and 1985, I find one of the biggest challenges in reconstituting versions. This series requires a lot of care with record entries. In order to help everyone interested, I defined a practical model in the following order: The year of release, for games released during this period; And in case of relaunching the year of copyright (©) of the box and / or cartridge. Any documentary evidence such as internal sales reports for the period and copyrights of manuals and certificates will be recorded for future analysis. The first version found will be used for registration regardless of the number of subsequent editions. Order of publication by series: Gray Series (complete) Red Series (in progress) Children Corp series (awaiting) Color Corp series (awaiting) Access: www.atariopenbox.com/timeline NOTE: The organization will be made by the boxes, regardless of the label and video format that contains the set.
