  1. I created this sub-category in the Jaguar threads to see if the Jag can get as much modding, and support as the NeoGeo itself. Speaking of which, I'm actually kinda baffled to see that the Atari Jaguar was ignored in regard to any NeoGeo Ports. I mean, Magician Lord would fit EXACTLY in the cartridge with only 2 megabits in reserve!
  2. Hello everyone, I have had an Atari Jaguar in my collection for the longest time; complete in the box, with 5 games (including the nauseating Cybermorph... at least according to Benjamin Hall in that commercial), and I have been slowly warming up to it; especially since properly experiencing it on the relatively new BigPEmu emulator by Richard Whitehouse. Just recently, I picked up Tempest 2000 for Christmas (it was the last one on Amazon that I snagged up in regards to availability), and now I'm playing some Jag; but what I have noticed is how when playing Tempest 2000 on real hardware is how much slower it runs at times--even with games. The reason why I want to create this thread is because I also own a NeoGeo Advanced Entertainment System. For the longest time, I've been following the modification scene for that system, and since I have been getting into the Atari Jaguar little-by-little (The infamous CD Add-on is where I have to draw the line unfortunately), I wonder if there can also be more of a modification scene for that system as well? 1. One thing I noticed about the Atari Jaguar is how it has a similar processor to the Neo: https://wiki.neogeodev.org/index.php?title=Overclocking. Could it also be possible to overclock the Jaguar to make it run as well as how BigPEmu represents it (barring the visual enhancements, of course! Jag still looks nice on a CRT Television--no matter what cables are used to display the games)? Could it be possible to eliminate the slowdown/dropped framerate? Now, I am aware of the glitching this could present, but perhaps there is a certain percentage increase as to not fry any components? 2. Another similarity to the NeoGeo is the implementation of an alternate BIOS. The most famous BIOS replacement on the Neo is, of course, the Universe BIOS by Razoola (pardon the redundancy): http://unibios.free.fr/. Compare that to the BJL (Behind Jaggy-Lines) https://www.monlynx.de/jaguar/ to not just play more games, but actually turn the Jaguar into a proper developmental unit (I also wonder if the new Game Drive would be able to interface with not just the Jaguar via it's own cartridge slot, but also on PC as well? Maybe a second revision in the hardware would be in the pipeline...) What surprises me is that the Atari Jaguar was completely ignored in terms of any NeoGeo ports. Yes, there was a point in history where SNK and Atari; despite being neighbors wanted to collaborate with bringing NeoGeo to something called the Mirai; but I think if the Jaguar got the support from big names at that time like Capcom, or even SNK, they might have stood a fighting chance; but alas it went down in history alongside the TurboGrafx-16 as something that came and went, and that's a big shame! And for those who are wondering, yes, I did make a custom boxart for Magician Lord if it came out on the Jaguar (like an alternate timeline scenario). And even by 1993, paint started to chip away on Magician Lord as well! Where it used to get such high praise from when it first came out; by that point in history, any chance at relevancy would have been too late. However it isn't too late! Since the Jag is in public domain nowadays, and the games got better since it's discontinuation, we might see ol' ML on the Jag with the likes of JagStudio, and RaptorAPI (I'm even following the Jaguar port of Mortal Kombat, and even learning new Game Development tricks along the way with each new video that comes out by TruFun Entertainment. Heck, what he's doing by making this game is the SOLE reason why I'm warming back up to the Jag itself!). All I'm trying to say is that the Atari Jaguar deserves a bit more respect. Make no mistake about it, I think the system DESERVED to fail; from bad management, laughable marketing, and how much Atari bit off more than it could chew in the 1990's. Even still, the system has a certain place in my heart. Does anyone else feel that similar way with Atari's Jaguar? I always thought that it would have been great if things went a different way.
  3. If you'll excuse my CRT squishing the image at the bottom (I think I may have to adjust the coil?); I have actually beaten Top Hunter on Real Hardware on AES... set to Japanese & Arcade. For reasons I'll never understand, they didn't include it in all other versions!
  4. ...they have Gex. But trying to get him to say ANYTHING coherently human is frustrating. I wish they'd implement those characters, too. Phil Hartman was a legend!
  5. Honestly, I wish they'd get Michael Beard lol.
  6. Lol Geeko. Never mind my name is Gecko; though I should have seen that coming as I did show a Hex Value. Regardless, I am happy to see that it made your day as well! And since you enjoyed the video so much, I am including an extra bonus for not just you, but EVERYONE: The original Sound Clips! If you want to mess around with these to put into a hacked ROM of Magician Lord (or just want to improve upon these clips to make them sound more natural), then by ALL means! Have fun! GarfiledAsGalAgieseVoiceCollection.zip
  7. I was messing around with Uberduck, and I just decided to implement Garfield voiced by Lorenzo Music with Gal Agiese. People say that Gal is voiced by the character, so why not do a redub of this character with AI? I know it is kinda pointless, considering they sound alike; but I thought about making this for the lols. @Charlie Cat, you'll get a kick out of this!
  8. Hello again, all of you beautiful people! I understand that I haven't been very active all that much on these forums, and that is partly due to real life. Regardless, I do have some things to showcase. I unbox a SUPER rare game for the SNK NeoGeo with my girlfriend on my birthday. And yes, some of her kitties are present in the video (shoutout to CharlieCat). What is this SUPER rare game? Well, watch the video to find out. Crossed Swords II is not an actual release for the AES, this is actually a reproduction cartridge! I haven't opened it up to see how it was done; all that matters is that I got a new game for my collection! Interesting to note, the manual that came with it actually properly spells "Cadasis" which was a country mentioned in Magician Lord. Makes sense as it was released by the same company: Alpha Denshi Kyogo, Ltd. Crossed Swords takes place sometime after the events of Magician Lord (and when you look at Europe's Geography throughout the Dark Ages, it has changed A LOT throughout history; I mean Spain used to be Castille; that is until it ultimately became Spain with Castille being a city within that country. I learnt a little bit of that from Maldita Castilla by Locomolito. REALLY great platformer. It is a free download on his website. You can pay more to make a custom Arcade machine of it if you want? I'm not sure, but the man behind his games is cool). And I got more NeoGeo manuals uploaded into here: Newest manuals uploaded into here include, but not limited to... Blue's Journey Viewpoint King of The Monsters Samurai Shodown V: Perfect (sorry, no Special; it's pretty much the same game with the same engine; just with extra added story cutscenes added in for good measure) Once again, Anyone who has manuals CAN contribute (special thanks to NeoTurboManiac for sharing his manual for Super Baseball 2020). Now, the reason as to why I didn't scan Crossed Swords II's manual is because it's just like the original Japanese manual localized by a fan, and out of respect for the seller on EBay, I'm not going to put it out on here. Speaking of Crossed Swords, I do have a Japanese version that I am willing to trade for an English release. Why do I bring this up, this is because the Japanese version of Crossed Swords manual is in both Japanese & English. You can find that over on InternetArchive.org: https://archive.org/details/Crossed_Swords_1994_ADK_JP; sadly the box itself is not in English; it's in Japanese. In closing, I haven't forgotten about one of my favorite video game consoles, and the beautiful people who help support it & keep it alive. P.S. I haven't forgotten about Project: Leviathan, either. Work on it has been slow, but sure. Like what Shigeru Miyamoto said, "A delayed game is eventually good, but a rushed game is forever bad."

    Neo-Geo Manuals

This is a collection of manual scans from the Neo-Geo (ENGLISH, might I add. You're welcome). If anyone wants to turn these into .pdf files, or add more to the mix-feel free to do so! :)
  10. I did a follow-up to the aforementioned documentary. I want to thank EVERYBODY for checking out the documentary on the 11th of September. If in case you missed it, you can check it out here: For those who are curious about Project: Leviathan, I will showcase the insert I have initially designed for it. I'd love to hear what people think about it (or at least what I have created so far...). Included is the initial insert, some concept artwork, the initial sprite of the main character and the link to my DeviantArt: https://www.deviantart.com/gecko1993. I hope everyone enjoys my contributions. If anyone wants to help contribute, be sure to let me know!
  11. Hello. I have posted here before in regards to the enclosed instruction manuals for Neo Geo games (since nobody else did it). I present to you all, this: During this pandemic, I have stayed productive. Talking about a video game console I hold in HIGH regard. I hope that you all enjoy! Also, this one is dedicated to ALL fans of the Neo themselves! I even give a special shoutout to CharlieCat in the credits as a means of saying "thank you for keeping the flame of interest alive in the hearts of gamers!"
  12. Ice... makes me wonder... did Vanilla Ice Play Last Resort? I also notice T. Making me think of Mr. T. Zul. I didn't know that the makers of this game were fans of Ghostbusters... (though it is actually spelt "Zuul" not "Zul") I also see Lee (Bruce Lee? Or a descendant of Bruce Lee himself-or his ghost.) The rest, feel free to use your imaginations.
  13. I created THIS: http://atariage.com/forums/gallery/album/2434-neo-geo-manuals/ because I feel that nobody even had the GUTS to upload scans of the Neo-Geo Games' respective manuals! Coveting them for their own personal collections. Bear in mind, these are a few of the manuals I have for the games in my collection. Many more will soon be available. If anyone wants to contribute to this gallery, feel free to do so-I ain't stoppin' ya!
  14. My apologies, everyone. I am relatively new here (though that isn't saying much considering how I hardly use this account as much). I understand that I basically made a rookie mistake, and I hope not to perform it again. I know that I am also late with this reply as well, but better late than never I suppose.
  15. Hey I know that it this topic is probably ancient history, but is this item still up for sale?
