  1. Hey Darryl! Welcome aboard! I'm new to the TI scene but I found the people here to be very helpful and very knowledgeable. It's very kind of you to share your extra TI wares with the community here. Since you said you have some manuals, would you happen to have a "TI Music Maker" manual laying around? Once again welcome and thanks!

I just checked for Music Maker. Sorry no extra there. I have a big notebook binder with the whole set, but I am planning to ebay that.

I do, however, have an extra "Music Skills Trainer" booklet though.

  2. I have an extra cassette (original). Pay for postage and I'll mail it to you.

It always seemed weird to me that Mini Memory came with a cassette instead of a diskette. I read recently that the Gram Kracker (I think it was the Gram Kracker) can convert cassette programs to diskette programs... or maybe it was one of those crazy utilities that come with one of the emulators. Anyway, if it's the GK, that can be done using the MESS emulator, right? Has anyone tried it?

  3. Damn!!!!-more competition on Ebay ;)

    Welcome to the club!!!!!!

LOL! Don't worry. I am more interested in selling at this moment. I will only be keeping a minimal system. And I plan to mod the hell out of it.

  4. Well, I have tried all the suggestions above except for examining the contacts on the bottom of the board. Is there a guide that can tell me where to probe and what values I should be getting? Can you tell I am a novice at troublehooting electronic hardware?

@Greg, you'll seriously send me a working one in trade for my bad one? That's very generous of you. It's starting to look like I might need to take your offer. But I am not quite ready to give up on it yet. But admittedly, it is looking bleak. :-(

  5. My PE Box has dual floppy drives (probably DSDD, and maybe even 1.2MB - I have to check). I want to swap out one of the 5.25" floppy drives with a 3.5" floppy drive. I know I had this setup when I was younger, but I can't remember the details. So I'd like some advice with it. Can I just swap out one of the 5.25" drives with the 3.5"? Should I use A or B for the 3.5" and why? Anything else I need to worry about?

  6. I have an Extended Basic cartridge that is non-functional. It won't even boot to the TI title screen when the cart is plugged in. I am considering repairing it, but first I have some questions for the experts out there.

    1. Is it worth it to try to repair it?

    2. Where can I find some resources on troubleshooting/repairing these carts (and specifically this one).

  7. I just acquired a bunch of TI stuff. I am going to sell off most of it, but some of the items are just imcomplete and I'd like to give them to the TI community. So I will list them here and see if anybody wants some of these incomplete things. All I ask is you pay for shipping. Here is the list:

[8/10 updated with new info after going through the stuff more thoroughly]

TI Writer - I have two copies of TI Writer. And I have three binders. Two are the new colorful binders, one is the old tan binder. Choose the colorful or tan binder. I'll try to make it as complete as I can. If I find the reference card, manual, keyboard overlay, or disks, I'll include it too. And there is a clear plastic cart holder too. But no cart.

Editor Assembler - It's basically a complete set missing the cart only. If anyone is interested, I'll give a complete inventory of this one. Off the top of my head, it includes the binder, cart holder, manual, reference card, disks. Tombstone City manual, EA cart, and keyboard overlay are missing.

Microsoft Multiplan - Binder, big ass manual, cart holder, reference card. No cart or keyboard overlay..

Manuals - I have various manuals with no cart to go with it. Most are for carts. Others include speech synth, joysticks, cassette recorder, cassette cable, various technical manuals (programming GPL, speech modulation, TI Forth, schematics, some third party software manuals). I don't have a comprehensive list yet because I still have to match up the remaining carts to the their manuals. But I know there will be plenty of extra stuff left over.

Box - I have found the box for Ant Eater (by Romox) but the cart is gone.

Plato - I have some Plato disks and possibly some mismatched manuals.

Various other things that I cannot remember. If you have a need for a various piece, please write me and I'll dig through it all to see if I have it.

Keyboard overlays - most are blank, and then a few extra default ones.

Anyways, write to me and let me know if you need any of this. The binders can be shipped in priority mail boxes for $12.95.

  8. Hello everyone. I am new to this forum, but not so new to TI. It was my first computer way back in the day. I still have my old console (which was most recently plugged in about 5 years ago) and speech synth, but sold off everything else long ago. I had a killer setup too - the PE Box with Myarc 128k and Myarc disk controller, Gram Kracker, MBX, Wico joysticks, trackball, a ton of carts... all gone. :-( Maybe I still have some of it in a box somewhere, but I haven't found it yet. Found all my disk software though!

Anyways, I've recently acquired a bunch more stuff, most of which I'll probably sell off. Some of it I'd like to repair (or get repaired). And some of it I would like to donate to the TI community. I also plan to setup a minimal system and mod my console a bit. So I'll be writing in to these forums asking for help in this endeavor.

Anyways, thought I'd write in an introduce myself.
