  1. I hope you figure out all the problems soon. Thank you for making it fit in a standard TI cartridge case. Can it be SD micro? Waiting for this amazing cart to be released. BTW, tomorrow is my birthday. :-) Darryl
  2. Sometimes I win by sniping. Sometimes I lose. It's hard, but you just have to tip your hat to the guy and say "Well played, sir". And then try to win next time. Darryl
  3. - A FlashROM99 that fits in a standard TI cart case. - An internal soundchip mod which gives us 12 voices (like the old TI Forth card that was demoed to user groups). Darryl
  4. So I have this idea and I want help to flesh it out. This all started with the internal speech mod, which I still plan on doing eventually. And after I got the new 32k mem expansion board, I started thinking of ways to mount it internally. So the speech mod required wires soldered to several leads on the mainboard. They have to be far enough back so that you can still plug in the PE box firehose. So what if a small board was made that was simply a sideport connector, a backward-facing ribbon cable that went directly into the console, ending with an edge connector that the speech synth could be plugged into? Does that sound feasible? Perhaps even a 32k board could be chained to it if the connector was on the edge of the board. All this would be inside the console! I am only guessing that it all fits in there above the mainboard. Thoughts? Darryl
  5. Exciting news! Love those games. Scott's a nice guy. I chatted with him too some years ago on email. Will you be working on these games on your own, or is Scott assisting you in some way? Darryl
  6. The internal speech mod is on my todo list. I have it already de-cased and have de-soldered the connector. Just need to take the time to solder it in there. It's especially important for me since my console is beige (no matching ss). Darryl
  7. Here is an ai vector file. TI cart logo.zip Darryl
  8. I once had this symptom and I replaced the sound chip and fixed it. Darryl
  9. Stupid question alert... If I mod my TI Speech Synth to bridge the power over, will it still be able to work with the PEB or other side peripherals? Darryl
  10. I have some extras. One of them is bad. The rest are probably good. Darryl
  11. Back in the day, I wrote code that would move an Asteroids spaceship around the screen using no sprites. And it was smooth as butter, not block by block like Tombstone City. It was a simple matter of mapping 4 (sometimes 6) chars on screen and then manipulating their definition pattern to shift the image up down left right. As the image left the "box", new chars were placed and the parts of the ship were shifted into those blocks. I think I defined 16 different directions the ship could point, so it rotated smoothly. It was a blast to fly the ship around the screen! And I was so proud that I used no sprites to make it happen. Anyways, perhaps you could get away with something like that. Darryl
  12. I may have screwed up the poll with my answers. I was looking at it as a repository for labels, manuals, boxart, photos type of stuff. Those type of things are to be found here on this forum somewhere, but scattered in numerous threads. Darryl
  13. Been meaning to comment on this since I got my Flashrom cart. The little spinning dots animation is a nice touch, and obviously required some effort to pull off so well. So I want to let you know, Ralf, that I think it looks terrific and is useful info (file is loading) too. Thanks for your attention to detail on the software side. Darryl
  14. @mantadoc, thanks for the new games (and util)! Darryl
  15. Here are some more carts for the flashrom. Jumpy is one of my favorites! These do not require 32K RAM. jumpy.bin king.bin "King of Castle" videovegas.bin starwars.bin Darryl
  16. Who made Joust? Atarisoft? Man, that'd be something! But I don't believe I have that. Darryl
  17. Wow! I had no idea. I wonder what else I have buried in my archives? Darryl
  18. I have these files, but I haven't tried them. TUTANKAM.DSK TUTANKHAMC.bin TUTANKHAMG.bin I hope they are useful. Darryl
  19. Easy to swap out the sound chip. I had to do that once. The TI had similar symptoms. Darryl
  20. Questions: 1. How does the RAM upgrade work with the NanoPEB? 2. Does it really just behave like the 32K expansion card in a PEB? 3. Does it ever need to be switched off? Darryl
  21. So sad about Craig Miller. He was a legend in the TI world and, even though I never met him, somehow a big part of my childhood (well, teenage years at least). Darryl
  22. This looks like a QI console and it has a 1981 firmware in it, if anybody wants to go for it. I have one already or I'd get it myself. No telling if it has a Mitsumi keyboard though. Chances are though, if it had a Mitsumi keyboard, they would have said the keyboard doesn't work. So strong likelyhood that it's a good keyboard too. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Texas-Instruments-Home-Computer-TI-99-4A-w-BOX-Tested-Good-Shape-/272277891421?hash=item3f6506e95d:g:X~4AAOSwzJ5XZNFu Darryl
  23. Has an 80 column version of Adventure been made yet? Is it even possible? Darryl
  24. Is that gravity holding it in there? Darryl
  25. Who wants to go in with me to get a purple v2 board? I only want one... maybe two. Darryl
