I think I made a thread about the LED mod. Here--> http://atariage.com/forums/topic/228592-beige-console-power-led-mod/ Darryl

I would like to know when the next OSHpark order for v2 boards is going to happen. I would like to go in with you and get a couple boards. Also I'd like to know if the parts list changed. I believe I downloaded it when it was posted last time. I am going to try my hand at building my own this time. But I would like the purple boards. :-) Darryl

I have one of these 1981 QI consoles. I believe OLD_CS1 has one too. I consider myself lucky to have my QI console. It is also unusual because the normal blue stripe on the power switch is red on mine. Darryl

FlashROM99 - What kind of compilation(s) do you plan to make?
dphirschler replied to Omega-TI's topic in TI-99/4A Computers
The very nature of this flashcart makes it easy to just willy nilly make any compilation (or single cart) you want, when you want. So if anything, having this cart has motivated me to make a few eprom multi carts. Those I can take the time to make masterpieces. The rest, I can put on the flashcart whenever I want with ease. So the first one I will make is the Atarisoft cart. Darryl- 18 replies

Anybody had an actual guide to loading the cassette adventures from their phone (or other device)? I keep getting "No such device" in Adventure when I type CS1. Darryl
-
Here was the adventure disk I used back in the day. It even loads from XB (so you don't need the Adventure cart). But you do need a disk drive (or have nanoPEB emulate one). ADVENTUR.DSK Darryl

You need either the cassette or the diskette to play each Adventure game. You also need either a cassette or a diskette to save your game on. I have good quality wavs of the Adventure games so you could make your own cassettes, or load them off your phone or something. Darryl

If you produce any, please put me down for one! two actually. Darryl

! FlashROM 99 & FinalGROM 99 - Repository
dphirschler replied to arcadeshopper's topic in TI-99/4A Computers
I want to thank whoever put Arcturus in the whtech bin repository. I'd tried version after version only NOT to hear the music I remember. I was starting to think my memory was wrong. Finally, this one had the correct music! And why did I see "Tursi" on the title screen? Is this our Tursi? Darryl- 1,489 replies

I have wanted one for a while now, but cannot make my own boards. I am getting better at soldering though... Will you make a kit? Darryl

Are we talking about fitting the nanoPEB inside a 3" project case from Radio Shack? Oh, I see iKarith's response. I'd love to see the nanoPEB modified to use SD cards. Is that possible? Darryl
-
How much work would it be to make a sidebus version of this card? Could this be the start of new type of nanoPEB design? Darryl
-
I am happy with mine. I got the nanoPEB F18A model. Darryl

Hey MadDuck, how are you with a soldering iron? Just curious. I've gotten better since I have gotten back into my TI these last few years. I decided that one TI I keep as bone stock, and one is my "modding" TI*. I plan on modding the hell out of my mod TI. Next thing to do is solder the speech module inside the console. Darryl * Actually, I have four consoles: a stock black/silver one, a stock beige one, a beige QI with 1981 firmware, and my beige mod TI.

Yeah, the Mitsumis can be identified by a smooth brown colored back. The green ones with solder points are good. You can usually see enough of the keyboard through the vent holes if there is a halfway decent shot of the underside of the console. Darryl
-
Have you gone and re-flowed the solder on any of them or do you wait for a failure before considering doing that? Darryl
-
Congratulations. You won't regret it. I love my F18A. Darryl

Does it look like this? http://atariage.com/forums/topic/228756-diagnose-this-sick-ti/?do=findComment&comment=3053085 Darryl

Welcome to TI paradise, MaDDuck! Sad news about the NanoPEB. I must've gotten one of the last ones he made. I sincerely hope somebody else can carry on making it, and maybe even improving the design someday. Highly recommend the F18A, and even though mine has not arrived yet, the FlashROM cart. Darryl

How To: Replace the Obsolete Cassette Port with a VGA Connector
dphirschler replied to wyerd's topic in TI-99/4A Computers
I desoldered the audio/video port and put a standard 1/8" audio connector. To see more photos, look in this thread: http://atariage.com/forums/topic/228626-who-has-vga-out-on-their-console/page-2?do=findComment&comment=3511398 http://atariage.com/forums/topic/228626-who-has-vga-out-on-their-console/page-3?do=findComment&comment=3516448 Darryl -
OK, so I have removed the white LED and replaced it with a nice blue LED. Wow! I love it. Here are some photos. Here are photos of the process: Thanks to OLD CS1 and Omega for some dandy blue LEDs. The while LED was just too bright. This blue matches the blue color bar on the switch. Now correct me if I am wrong here. I am no electronics expert. But I believe replacing that resister with a stronger one will dim the LED even more. Darryl

Mods/Jobs for the TI Mini Memory Command Module
dphirschler replied to Airshack's topic in TI-99/4A Computers
I replaced mine. make sure you get a low profile battery holder. The first one I got was too tall and would not fit inside the cart shell. Darryl
