  1. Anymore news on this? Seems as if he does not want an easy 30K+in his pocket, I mean how hard is it to buy an power cord that not only fits but works or even easier without spending money, using a screwdriver and open it up. It's not like(I'm assuming) it uses a screw type the average person does not have like the Tri-wing screw that Nintendo uses on it's handhelds. Even if he works all day, I would imagine it would only take 2 minutes to open it up...

  2. Nice stats, but I have a few questions:

    1. Are the listed prices averages, maximum or minimum amounts you found?

    2. Have you counted both tested working, "untested" and known broken systems?

    3. Have you extrapolated the total for the systems you never saw for sale, or do the sums only cover actual prices?

    4. Which version of the Mega Drive is that, the European or Japanese? You also have the Sega Genesis model 2 listed twice.

I thought the Atari 2600JR was the cheapest of all 2600 models and that a loose Atari 2800 would set you back a bit more than $80, but I'll assume those numbers are correct. Perhaps that was a broken one and thus sold for not that much money.

1.it depends. For most of the consoles, I calculated the averages from recent Ebay sold prices this year, but for rare ones like the Epoch Super Cassette Vision where very few are on Ebay, I took the lowest buy it now price, which may or may not be overpriced as it could be the seller thinking "oh it's really rare to find so I'd say this is a fair price" when it's in reality, $100 less that what you can find one on say a forum or such.

    2. No, I only counted working prices although I can count those prices which I would guess would be slightly harder to calculate

    3. As of now the total only includes the consoles I could find prices for. The consoles with no prices are just there so I can fill in the prices at a later time.

    4. I only added the Japanese version because if I added the European version, that would mean I would have to add the different versions of the Mega Drive(and other consoles) around the world and the 1292 APVS(Advanced Programmable Video System)/ Interton VC4000 line of consoles has 29 different versions around the world(Germany, Spain, Great Britain, Argentina, New Zealand, Italy and France) :o and yeah, one was supposed to be the model 1 and the other, the model 2 but it is fixed now.

About the 2800, I dunno where I got that price from. I thought I got it from looking at previous sold 2800's from this year but I can only find one now and that sold for $102.50. Shipping was $50 but I didn't include shipping prices in the list although maybe I should...Also I didn't think the 2600 sold for that much so for the 2600, I just guessed on a fair price(This was only for say 6-7 consoles and they were the common systems) so yeah I'll have to change the 2600's price and find a price for the 2800.What do you think is a fair price for a loose one and a boxed one in really good condition?

  3. how much it would cost to get every console not including clones/pong consoles boxed or loose?. Well I was bored so for fun I calculated from recent(this year) sold Ebay auctions and such and it comes to $16094 boxed and $10278 loose. The current price may be off or overpriced by a few hundreds and Wii/PS3/X360 and up are not added but it still should be close to an accurate price. You can look at the prices and if you see a price wrong(too high or too low) please do tell or better yet change it http://anotepad.com/notes/5164305. I guess if someone wanted to attempt to buy then all, they could get say 1 console a month and in 4 years, you'll be almost halfway there...either way it's nice for us to see what we will never have

  4. Speak of the devil. Someone on here last week said their Action max was broken and I found one for $10(which is more than what I expected as they probably didn't even know what it was) at a Value Village today. Didn't see any games and it didn't come with the AV cord or headphones but hence my username, I just had to get it! The gun trigger when pressed down fully does not spring back up, but a little cleaning should make it work as new. Don't know if it works as I don't have the av cord but how many times could the original owner play this piece of crap

  5. They don't call me TheObscureGamer for nothing

The holy grail of consoles would have to be the RDI Halcyon without a doubt. less than 12 are know to exist and I don't even think it made it to retail.

Honorable mentions: Casio PV-1000.it was only released in Japan(which means that not everybody could get their hands on one), it was only sold in stores for about 3 weeks, not that much advertising, it was made by Casio of all people, and I wouldn't be surprised if it was not even sold in all the major retailers. I need to find my system but that would mean I would have to go through boxes of clothes, toys and crap.

Capcom CPS(Capcom Power System) Changer. Essentially Capcom's Neo Geo AES which was released in 1994 and only available through mail order, costed $447(10 of the 11 games costed half of that) and was discontinued in less than 2 and a half years. If the Neo Geo AES sold only 410 thousand worldwide then just imagine what a mail only console which only lasted 2 and a half years and was advertised less than the Neo Geo AES would sell(I'd imagine less than 100K).

Sega Mega Jet. This was made only for use on an airplane. The console was a controller and you hooked it up to the airplane's TV.Seeing as this was only made for airplanes only and not buy able for consumer use, who knows how many were taken home when they stopped using them or they when they sold them in a liquidation sale...

for handhelds it would be kinda tougher to locate but I'd say it's between the Gamate, R-zone, Mega Duck, Cougar Boy, SuperVision, or the Epoch Game pocket Computer...

  6. I'll have to post pictures of it all later as it's ALOT of stuff but this is stuff that I've acquired over the past year and a half(give or take a few), Anyway this is what I've found...

. (this was around September,October or so of last year) 400(or so) PS2 games $29: I got all of this off Ebay as a bundle and although 320 or so of the games where sports games, 70 or so of them were non sports games(racing, shooting, platformers, etc) which was an excellent price and surprisingly no bids. There was another bundle this same guy had up which had 300+ non sports games which for whatever reason I passed up on(probably could have got it for under $50 as there was only 1 bidder) but whatever...

(this and below is this year)Need for Speed Undercover(loose) for $1

an Xbox with 1 controller, all hookups and DVD receiver for $8 at the flea market a good 3 months and a half ago.It does not want want to play all the games that I have(it plays Dead or alive 3 no problems but 007 Agent under fire never works) but I can always mod it to play downloaded games so it's still usable. The same lady had Super Monkey Ball for Gamecube for only $2. She also had Shrek 2 for the Xbox and some Nes games(Batman, American gladiator, some LJN game town & country surf designs wood & water rage I believe, three stooges and I think one more game) which I passed on for $2 each(didn't have all my money on me). Didn't feel that bad at first because they were all relatively cheap games but now that I think about it, Batman is a really good game(also seems to be a $10-15 game), Shrek 2 is an OK game and the rest, for the price, just to try them out to see if they are crap and a cheap way to boost my collection count isn't bad either...

Went to the flea market today and there was not that many people there(usually there are more people on Saturday than Sunday but there still usually be a lot of people there(a good 200-250 maybe 300 people). The guy(thankfully or it would have been a letdown) who I always buy comics from(all are $1 each from him) was there so I brought a few. I got Power Pack #15(Marvel), Justice League of America #59(DC), PSI Force #4(Marvel), Shadow of the bat #30(DC), Peacemaker #3(DC), and Vigilante #15. This year I've also have gotten Hex #16(DC), Icon #17(DC), Legends of the Dark Claw #1(DC and Marvel),The Vision and the Scarlet Witch #7(Marvel), X-men in the spectacular Spider-man #198(didn't see it had a bite out of the back of the book until I got home but ehh what can you do)(Marvel), Speedball and the Masked Marvel #3(Marvel), Strikeforce Morituri #2(Marvel), Deadshot secrets #3(Marvel), The doom patrol #3(DC), and Starman Sins of a child part 4.. My sister picked me up at an Anime convention for me The sensational Spider-man #199(Marvel) The new Teen Titans #27(DC), The Green Lantern corps #206(DC), Web of Spider-man #26(Marvel), and The mighty Thor #380(Marvel) for not sure how much exactly but under $15.

After I went to the flea market I stopped at a Value Village and got some PS1 games for $8: The supposed games were Jersey Devil(complete), NFL Blitz 2000(complete), WF Smackdown(complete), Vigilante 8(no manual), Need for speed 3 Hot pursuit(complete), Delta Force urban warfare(no back cover and in some CD case but otherwise complete, Test drive off road(complete), and Crash Bandicoot Warped(complete). When I got home(don't know why I didn't check them all in the store) inside the Need for speed case was High stakes and not Hot pursuit, Smackdown 2 was in the Smackdown case, nothing was in the Jersey Devil case and nothing was also in the Blitz case. Hopefully when I go to the flea market next week and stop back at the VV, they have my games. If they do I might just slip both in one case as you know, I paid for them :x

  7. IMO the PSvita is the best way to go. you have the beautiful touchscreen, the rear touchpad, and the sweet thumbsticks. There are plenty of great games on the Vita plus it can play the PS1 and PSP games from the PSN. Also if you hack it, you have thousands of retro games at your disposal...

  8. I for one don't give a d*** if he's not a regular poster. I've been looking for one of these for the longest and now I have the chance to get one for a hopefully decent price. and even if there was a grace period before you can post here, he still would be selling the same high price item to the top seller once that grave period is over.

  9. Does it actually work -- or at least boot to a BIOSarrow-10x10.png screen (like the PSX)?

ETA: It looks like there is no power supply or video cablesarrow-10x10.png.

The guy is(from what I've read) not that much of a gamer and he is not even responding to questions or anything. With the 3D technology we have now and such. I wouldn't be surprised that it is a fake, although I hope it's not. We will know for sure if it is fake if he says he lost it, someone stole it, it fell and broke, or he can't find the adapter and never buys one that works. I wonder why he has not responded to much stuff. If I was in possession of a sure 30K in my hands, I would have brought an ac adapter the second I found it. I'm not hating on the guy, not at all, I just want pics on the insides and more importantly the console coming on...

  10. I read about this today, and saw the photosarrow-10x10.png. There's a debate over whether or not it's a fake, but look at the yellowing on it-I don't see how anyone could fake that. I love video game historyarrow-10x10.png, and this is awesome!

Im not 100% sure on this but I would assume that with the right stuff, you could fake the yellowing of the console. Also there's this guy who makes really nice and high quality console cases and on his Twitter page, he has a picture of the supposed SNES add on(and a picture that the owner of the supposed SNES add on never put online) with the caption "I admit it's a fake ;) thanks pxlbbq, I got uncovered". So that makes me believe th that means only 2 things. 1. that it's a fake, and 2. it's real but he had someone else say it's a fake to get more views or something. I wanna believe that it's real but with all of this 3D printing technology, I'm not 100% sure...

  11. If you're talking about just the analog sticks, then you just pop the old ones off and put the new ones in it's place...if you mean fixing the actual analog stick sensors and crap idk how easy is is to fix. It can't be that hard but who knows...

  12. well I like both the PS4 and Xbox 1 just as equal but if I could only have one it might just be the PS4. No real reason to get a console over a PC for the non exclusives games in my honest opinion(better graphics, mods, free online etc) but as far as exclusives go the PS4 has better ones right now and with Shenmue and Gran Turismo(although Forza is just as good) coming, it will be even better. I'd try to get both but if you can only afford one I'd put my money on the PS4.

  13. I just love the Gameboy, it was the first handheld I've ever played.my fav games are Megaman Dr Wiley''s revenge, Zelda link's awakening, Killer Instinct, Donkey Kong Land 2 and Kirby Dream land 2. That being said Gamegear is better sorry not sorry... :-D

  14. First off, I agree that VGA is not needed.

With that stated, what is to stop anyone else from making their own grading organization? Lets start one and call it EEGO (pronounced "ego" ) "Electronic Entertainment Grading Organization". We can charge cheaper rates and we can easily make certificates of authenticity's of each game we grade. Heck, you don't even have to send us the game. Just need a few high res pictures and the $20.00 (via paypal of course) fee and we will have our grading "experts" give your pictures the once over and then we will send you your official EEGO grading certificate.

BTW, Does VGA issue unique processing numbers for each game they grade and if so, do they keep a master list of every game they grade that can be searched from their website online? If not, then VGA is really a big waste of time energy and money, because anyone could then fake VGA rated games.

EGGO seems like a great idea. If we knew someone to supply the cases I wouldn't mind trying to start a company that takes money from "dumbasses" to make a little extra on the side  I wonder where the VGA gets their cases from.
