  1. I'd just solder new leads with some high silver solder. Check any caps. It's funny but rotten bits comes to mind. The bombs seem to think that whatever bit makes two copies of the sprite are flickering off and on and mapping things that aren't really there! You can easily add fresh contacts without prying up the old stuff by soldering if it's barely connecting and that's what the problem is from. If it's the processor then I guess you would have to replace that or do what you did and sell the old junker.
  2. That game is so awesome it inspired me to make my own games.. ..my wife beat it and she's hot!!
  3. I love that insult. I use it quite a bit. There are quite a few a$$hats out there, huh?
  4. ..So your telling me that Pincess Rescue wasn't written using Batari Basic? I could easily make a game like that with it! It's by far the most expensive and one of the best homebrews ever made!!
  5. :_( :_( :_( :_( Glad..sniff..yer back into collecting..sniff..and you found yer..snort..games. That was the saddest story. I too don't care too much about boxes or cellophane..just GAMES..more GAMES!! (You should get a cartridge of Princess Quest!!) ..okay..better now..
  6. I just got Total Carnage and Skyhammer for the Jag!! Not to long before that I got Rampage 7800 and Casino, Blackjack, and Poker Plus (with rare telegames super hot chick labels!!) Having great fun with Skyhammer!! Go Jaguar!! Up next I'm aiming for Phase Zero..
  7. My door is always open for yooooooooouuuuuuu!! (Rats off to ya!)
  8. I've had great success buying Atari games off of eBay! I look for lots first and then single out games and go for low prices, closest to me, and gauge seller feedback! Although (now that eBay tracks shipping that is printed through them) standard shipping is much safer today! Princess Rescue goes for one arm and two legs on eBay, though..IF you can find it! Pawn shops will often have boxes full that they just don't want to deal with or put out for sale. They can be frustrating to locate! If you get a game that you aren't happy with from other online places you may not be able to rectify it, whereas on eBay you can bitc# and moan up a feedback storm and pull your money back through Paypal! The security of being able to complain and better protect yourself might be worth the small amount extra the games might cost. I just bought a LOT of games off of eBay with no problems! In fact! I just got Total Carnage and Skyhammer for the Jaguar off of eBay and they got to me in a couple of days and were brand new!!
  9. Remember! Old Wico sticks can have rotten rubber in them that drastically affect the return-to-center! Inside are real switch actuation that can be tweaked, so If you don't get the right responses (some will go left a little when you spring return from right or vice-versa) you can open them up! There is a rubber base within Wico sticks that causes them to pop back to the middle and that can gradually tear and then disconnect! The joystick will appear to work okay but you will have a very sluggish return to center. I've tried arcade springs with minimal success, but really they just have a time limit on their lifespan, more so than most Atari joysticks or especially Sega pads! The newer adapters are made to use two buttons and work with both!! http://www.ebay.com/itm/Atari-5200-Masterplay-Type-Controller-Interface-/161596553035?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item259fe7b74b If I still wanted a 5200 (I may look into it one of these days, as I still have a few games and they are pretty fun with the right stick!) THIS would be what to use for it!! For now I'll stick to my 130XE and Atari Sticks, Gem sticks and custom made arcade sticks!! The phone buttons on this adapter are enticing, though!!
  10. Get Rampage, Spy Hunter, Kung Fu Master, Joust, Ms. Pacman, Q-Bert, Popeye, Frogger, Zaxxon (It's a different perspective than the arcade and other ports!), Star Trek, a harmony cart (Get the new Pacman 8K, and the updated graphics version of Mario Bro. it's AWESOME!) and at least two Sega Genesis pads (look at the rims of the pads to get the floaty d-pads, NOT the rims that reach the edge, the rims that have a couple of millimeters between the housing and the pad itself! Sega made a lot of super-hard-to-press pads and several easy-to-use pads, and it's worth it to find the easy ones!)!!
  11. More Homebrew, like the Coleco Flashback did! Also an SD card slot would be nice! Getting the clarity of modern hook ups seems good, but Atari isn't really as easy to emulate as it might seem. I'm a stickler for details. The Flashback 2 is my favorite so far, as they put the pin out on the PCB to mod in your own cartridge slot. I really like "Off the Wall" and "Fatal Run"! "Atari Climber" is an excellent homebrew and "Radar Lock" is basically "Afterburner" for the Atari! These are all on the FB2. Fatal Run was never released in NTSC! Like I said..MORE HOMEBREWS! Possibly an SD slot.. ..my 2 cents.
  12. Here's a guts shot of my Heavy Sixer.. It works great but can occasionally decide not to! We'll be testing it soon (maybe this weekend..) I'm a bit surprised by how many variations to the boards there are!!
  13. NTSC Serial # :80289H MFG Location : Sunnyvale Owned by: Papa.. Indiana Functional (Yes/No): Yes, but needs looked at (we'll be getting in there pretty soon and testing all the caps..) Refurbished :No ..and just for fun here's my Sunnyvale 4-switcher!!
  14. I want to get the Lynx II mod for my wife in a couple of weeks. She is very good at soldering and would probably get this done quite well! We want the LCD screen mod and the VGA out mods. ..also, please PM us a cost (in U.S. Dollars, if you will) Do you take PayPal?
  15. This cabinet uses the I-Pac with X-Box adapter (right side is wired to an Atari PCB and hooked up to a 1040 STE, also inside).. http://i1176.photobucket.com/albums/x323/Papa761203/DSCF4232.jpg The cabinet on the right (title 'Big Play') has an X-Arcade duel stick encoder and all the adapters. In the picture it is using the PS adapter for Sega Arcade Classics 3D remake of Golden Axe!! http://i1176.photobucket.com/albums/x323/Papa761203/DSCF4207.jpg ..I like the I-Pac a LOT because it's a lot smaller footprint to deal with on the inside and you can get them with wiring. There is also no delay and switching between the three different X-Box sticks on one arcade stick is very easy!
  16. I've built a cabinet using the I-Pac and an X-Box adapter. At first I just used the keyboard encoder on a PC, but later amped it up with the adapter and now have a PC and an XBOX in the same cab, with HD. It's a sweet system. Can't you download manuals from them? The layout on the boards are usually self explanitory. I assume you got an entire arm load of wiring with that bundle? Anyway..the 48 on the left are the inputs. You encode with software (usually) and then regulate destinations with the output side. These are a LOT to deal with compared to the original I-Pac. No delay helps though, as X-Arcade seemed to get some negative feedback for delay. I have never experienced any delay from either I-Pac or X-Arcade and have used the PC, DC-GC-PX multi adapter, PS adapter, 360 adapters, and am currently using an X-box adapter wtih my X-arcade, and have used the PC and X-Box adapters with the I-Pac with NO delay EVER!!
  17. Try cleaning the contacts with Nevr-dull. It will polish and clean anything off of metal! I got a bunch of Jaguar games recently and none of them would even allow the system to start up! I also just got Wonderboy III with a lot on eBay as a freeby marked 'not working'. One cleaning with Nevr-Dull and they all worked pefectly right away (well, the dirty arsed Raiden I got needed a few hard cleanings)! Alcohol only works if there is light residue and if it is over a 70% concentration and with no oils. This stuff (Nevr-Dull) is really great on swords and rims and basically metals that are not laminated. Check the contacts very closely for anything that might need scratched or erased off. A pink school eraser will get most stuff off, too. I noticed that the side of the road in Spy Hunter is invisible when I play it on my Gemini, and certain games just don't work right. Perhaps it's the system! Is it a different Atari than what you played it on before? It also could be a capacitor on the board in the cart that has gone out or is on its way out.
  18. You can, however, get Gremlins for the XE AND they did make Pac-Man Jr. AND Super PacMan for the 400/800/XL/XE!!
  19. This is a great deal if you like to download basic programs to play on the XE! Be ready to 'buy' the program for data transfer if you intend to run all the roms, though! Only a few work without registration!! Excellent deal!!
  20. I use a Japanese Master System! They are a blast! You can also use Atari joysticks on a Master System IF the game only uses one button..
