  1. I used to read those Snoopy books. The World War I fighting Ace!! Also the "Happiness Is" books.. those were good. Keystone Kapers is a great one for kids.
  2. I was under the impression that you could send your rom to AA and they would make it into a cartridge. http://atariage.com/store/index.php?l=product_detail&p=949
  3. Noone is pointing out that most 5200 games are basically (ha ha) IDENTICAL to the 400/800/xl/xe counterparts!! It's a fun system to play if you like being able to just let go of the controller and leave your character going in that direction!! Eventually your collection will be unplayable other than pac-man, unless you can fix your own controllers or have an adapter to use return-to-center sticks. The 7800 is stuck in pokey sound land, but has more arcade games and way more modern games! Getting good controllers for the7800 can be hard, too! There is a SUPER COOL guy on eBay that is converting Sega Genesis pads and Nintendo pads to work with TWO BUTTONS on the 7800! ..also there are new boxes that have phone style keypads and inputs for return-to-center joysticks for the 5200! You may want to get those and try it out before you dump the 5200!?! The XEGS looks promising, though. Get on youtube and look at the comparisons between 5200 games and Atari 8-bit computer games and you will see that there is really no difference!!
  4. ..Kaboom, Jedi Arena, Breakout, Super Breakout, Casino, Poker Plus, Blackjack, Warlords, Eggomania are all great paddle games...just to name a few!!!
  5. Take the paddles apart and then pry the four metal braces off revealing a greasy, messy, old pot. Clean everything off thoroughly and reassemble! They will work perfectly after this! You will need a flathead screwdriver (to pry, make it small..), a philips head screwdriver to disassemble, something to clean it all off with like 70% or higher alcohol and some swabs or something like it. When reassembling make sure everything lines up properly and the knob is restricted on both sides to it's limits. There are graphical explanations of the process with more detail all over the internet!! Don't give up on those paddle games just yet!!
  6. Rampage!! TOO MUCH FUN! Kids OR adults..
  7. ..also..apparently I'm a wiener. I also added this line after "opening" player1x=0:player1y=0 player0x=0:player0y=0 This will take away the ghost image of your player sprites!! cute little zapper game! I'm glad to be a German sausage..
  8. Here's how to fix it! change the first line to "reset" (no spaces) add the command pfclear on the next line (one space) add the next line as: goto opening change the third to last line from "if switchreset goto opening" to this: if switchreset goto reset This will clear your screen and make sure it looks right! You also may want to tell your sprites to start at zero so that there is no shadow in the middle of the screen! Up to you though! If you don't understand I can just paste the whole thing right here!
  9. That'd be sweeeeet!! Although leaving out the return-to-center on the original sticks always was a mystery to me!?!? (.uh..I'm just gonna leave it pointing to the right so I can use my hand to punch buttons...or..other things... )
  10. I'm pretty sure the Gemini has the same color pallete as the fat sixer!! I'll compare when I get done fixing up my Fatty and then match it up to the four switcher, etc..
  11. I think Alex Kidd made Spanish speakers mad (possibly Brazilians!?) so a female hero replaced him on their versions of the game!! http://www.ebay.com/itm/TecToy-Monica-In-The-Dragon-Castle-Brazil-import-region-free-sega-master-system-/301314826554?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4627c3613a ..here's an example! Also, did you know that you can use the port on the back of a Japanese Master System (FM Chip not found in others) to hear music never before heard from many U.S. games that were never even released IN Japan! You can put a cartride port on the back of your Japanese Master System and plug in U.S. games and you will hear the missing tracks in luscious FM SOUND!! Monica!! http://www.ebay.com/itm/MONICA-O-RESGATE-RARE-MASTER-SYSTEM-VERY-RARE-/281581342830?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item418f8e506e ..another example!! NOW BACK IN THE TUBE, SPOCK!! That was a joke..I think your awesome..
  12. I want this YESTERDAY!! How do you sell this to me? No SRSLY..this is a SANDWICH MADE OF DOPE!! Okay, I just played this on my Harmony cart on a Sunnyvale 4-switcher and IT IS AWESOME! It's got the score, the floaty eyes, the fruit is WAY BETTER, the speed is better (no ripping fast up and down, but slow right and left), the ghosts look much better, the death has the disintegrate *pop, the sound is in a leauge all it's own for the Pokey, sounding nearly arcade identical!! WOWZERS!! My wife is gonna FREAK!! The proof is in the pudding! (..in my PANTS!!) (a twist and a kiss!)
  13. Get Rastan and then get the Monica version of Miracle World! Hero chicks RULE!!
  14. Rampage is a BLAST!! I love so many games, though..it's really not my absolute favorite, just very high on my list of favorites. I don't think I have one!! It's two player coop (or semi-coop as you can pound on each other for fun!), has great control and pretty good graphics for the limits of the system.
  15. I just got my second one..DON'T DROP IT!!! I need it for programming as you may have skippy parts or jumpy screens that won't show up until it's tested on real hardware! The wife loved this game.. http://i1176.photobucket.com/albums/x323/Papa761203/1530444_502066186573496_1893149723_n.jpg
  16. First do this.. http://i1176.photobucket.com/albums/x323/Papa761203/1517491_502070793239702_1417077092_n.jpg Then build one of these (top right).. http://i1176.photobucket.com/albums/x323/Papa761203/1016347_504380346342080_773398233_n.jpg With an Atari PCB map up and down as buttons so that racing games or games that use up as jump can now have a button!! With Genesis pad just map the buttons how you want them!! It's WAY easy!! And here's the view from the captains seat on my bridge.. http://i1176.photobucket.com/albums/x323/Papa761203/10378253_675954735851306_52251310068200979_n.jpg
  17. I agree with most that the 5200 is cool and all, but it really does just port 400/800 games! The computers let you use standard return-to-center joysticks and you can program on them! The XEGS may as well be a SUPER-5200 that doesn't play 5200 carts! This would be for a different topic, but how many 5200 games didn't come out originally on the 400/800/XL/XE systems? They even ported Gremlins!! I loved my 5200 for the handful of days the controllers worked and then I felt like the refurbished-5200-controller market was just waiting for those hardcore 5200 addicts. I would personally pick an XEGS with the keyboard upgrade (unlocks the built in basic) over a 5200. Heck, the XEGS even hooks up to an RCA in on your tv without mods!! I really like the 5200, but it is just a 400/800 port system at heart. ahem..2600 YEAH!!!
  18. The VCS, YEAH!! I can program it myself with a computer, an sdcard, and a Harmony cart! I really love the SEGA titles for the system, and so many other games that landed over the years that just didn't seem possible! Games like Rampage, Spy Hunter, Double Dragon (7800 version is just AWESOME!), Kung Fu Master, Commando, Ghostbusters, Tapper, 4K Pac-man and other homebrew-to-legend games like Princess Rescue make it a sweet system even for today!! A couple of games were considerably better than the Arcade counterparts for the day, like Asteroids (although we called it A$$-turd-roids!!)! People thinks it sucks, but they forget that the first batches of games were limited by expensive silicon and were trapped in 2K and 4K land where programmers couldn't really express too greatly the true abilities of the hardware! It wasn't until much later that the 1 MEG for $1000 mark was reached, in the time of Atari as home computer only! Imagine hearing that you had to fit something like Frogger or Zaxxon into as little as 4K or 2K because of the expense of the chip! But, they DID IT!! I love programming games for my Atari systems!!!!!
  19. I will try this!! I have about fifteen projects going on at once with basic, but I always wanted to try out the Jaguar and this is my chance!! Thank you!!
  20. We were country boys and didn't like to be contained by the Atari!?! I think it came from the system being used to quell rowdiness when visiting relatives, and thus seen as a tool of dicipline. Snowy days or holidays and we would take turns at River Raid or E.T., but we would rather be outside shooting things with sling-shots or playing thistle-maze while counting cows.. My interest grew as I got older and I started loving computers and technology. Now I play Atari a lot and my kids play our arcade occasionally. Atari is just great fun! I love that the original creed for programmers was 'no depictions of human death!'!! That would be some lead balloon today, huh? Homebrews and later releases make the system far better than it ever was, especially with programming tools like Batari Basic!!
  21. I have two authentic machines 'upgraded' to multicades and six that I built by hand with my own design that use real consoles and wired controllers (some with adapters for multiconsole use)!! Here are pics of my arcade room (Seven Golden Lampstands).. http://i1176.photobucket.com/albums/x323/Papa761203/DSCF4207.jpg http://i1176.photobucket.com/albums/x323/Papa761203/DSCF4204.jpg http://i1176.photobucket.com/albums/x323/Papa761203/DSCF4210.jpg http://i1176.photobucket.com/albums/x323/Papa761203/DSCF4211.jpg http://i1176.photobucket.com/albums/x323/Papa761203/DSCF4213.jpg http://i1176.photobucket.com/albums/x323/Papa761203/DSCF4214.jpg http://i1176.photobucket.com/albums/x323/Papa761203/DSCF4215.jpg http://i1176.photobucket.com/albums/x323/Papa761203/DSCF4219.jpg http://i1176.photobucket.com/albums/x323/Papa761203/DSCF4220.jpg http://i1176.photobucket.com/albums/x323/Papa761203/DSCF4222.jpg http://i1176.photobucket.com/albums/x323/Papa761203/DSCF4225.jpg http://i1176.photobucket.com/albums/x323/Papa761203/DSCF4229.jpg ..The last pics are of my bedroom custom that uses an HDTV, has a Modded XBOX, Atari 1040STE (right side Atari joystick wired), and is also currently hooked up to my Jaguar until my next cabinet project houses that system!!
  22. Looks GREAT!! Will the title have the animated floating hand with the topless hottie (like the Amiga),or will it have the brunette from the ST versions..or no animated intro? The guy on the left makes me feel like he at least walked onto the screen like the original!! Does he not have a 'I've-got-a-football-helmet-on-and-I'm-an-animal' sprite? Maybe I missed it!? There is a great comparison video on YouTube where several NES versions of games are pitted against 7800 titles, with the 7800 being the clear winner (IMO )!!
  23. I'm getting ready to build a custom made arcade machine for my Jaguar with buttons on the front for the keypad and a sweet paint job!! RAYMAN!! You could expect a little griff for all that together, yup! Try fleaBay!! It's cool to peddle at the forum, but bidders may actually get close to five hundred if you started high enough there!?! I think arcade controllers (like Neo Geo) would have changed the Jaguars view in the public eye and made the games WAY more playable! Loyalists would have helped too, as it was MADE IN THE USA!! We just jump on whatever the next crap future brick system they slide on a slime trail our direction now!! I'm pretty good at most of the Jag games as is, but fighting games with all those dragon punch curves on the pad and button combos really need a solid, switch driven stick! When I get done, I'll post picst of my Jag cab! I think $700 is not too much for all of that, but without all the boxes and on a forum of chuckleheads is asking for 'it'.. (the golden rule of thumb!! Where you only beat someone with a golden rod the width of your thumb!!) Solid state is always a pretty good investment! I avoid spinny things! All spinny things must die!! A Saturn has a spinny thing that will die (and a battery that will die), the PS and pretty much all new systems are all just a twisted concoction of spinny things that will die!! The Dreamcast was awesome, BUT!!!! One spinny thing for the disk (it must die), one spinny thing for the fan (will clog and die), the disk is a spinny thing (it will scratch up and die!!)! The Jag will entertain for a LOOOONG TIME!! I watch movies on a Sony Video Scope projector T.V. from 1981 that still works GREAT! Most modern televisions have a lamp that (like spinny things) MUST DIE!! Buy Atari, avoid spinny things (Jag CD... ), but other than that..solid! (I still want a Jag CD, though! For the CD light show (that must die), and the few games that it has!! And I play and enjoy my CDi (my 2600s, Genesis', NES, SNES, Jaguar, Master System, XE, C64, Coco3, Coco 1, 7800, Super Grafx, Amigas, and clones will outlast them both!) ..nice lot!
  24. YESSSSS!!!! 1.Rampage 2.Spy Hunter 3.Ghostbusters 4.Tapper 5.Montezumas Revenge 6.Commando 7.Star Trek SOS 8.Time Pilot 9.Ms. Pac-Man 10.Kung Fu Master
