    1000 l = 1 m³ of water has a mass of 1000 kg = 1 metric ton and freezes at 0°C.

    All we need to know. 🙂

    Yes, but if you had a square fathom filled with water and it was leaking a pottle every minute, how many stone would it weigh after 1 hour?

    The actual SUB code is SUB TANK2(X,Y,DIR,X1,Y1,DIR1,CODE) and numeric variables are initialized with 0. So if you have some initialization to do you a

    SUB TANK2(X,Y,DIR,X1,Y1,DIR1,CODE)
      if firstrun=0 then notfirst
        Q=1
        firstrun=1
    notfirst:
      Q=Q+1
      ...
    subend

    Thanks, Steve.  So it sounds like Subroutines can have local variables that can be changed/updated from turn to turn without those variables being declared at the top of the parent program (?)

    I'm a little rusty on my subroutine variable persistence.   If my code was:

    SUB X,Y,DIR,X1,Y1,DIR1,CODE

    .....

    Q=1

    .....

    .....

    Q=Q+1

    .....

    SUBEND

    On my next turn would Q=1 or 2?  Thanks!  Looking forward to this

  4. Back again with updated code for this year's game.  Can the TI-99/4A console BASIC go 2-0?

    My model shows the Eagles with 6.90 points of proposition value above their line of -2.  Chiefs have 6.68 points of proposition value above their line of +2.  Not exactly a ringing endorsement, but as a life-long Eagles fan, I'm happy I don't have to bet against them!

    For a few mixed XB and assembly examples, I helped Owen twice with some of his projects.  One was a sound player, the other a map scroller.  The assembly routines gave the needed performance to give XB a little extra kick.  Both have their own threads in the forum, but the map scroller is wholly contained in this post:

    I read through this thread.  Very informative.  Side note:  you never know what post will end a thread...in this case it was an enthusiastic shout-out to the McGriddle!

    At the bottom of Thierry's page he mentions:

    Brad Snyder created "XBpacker", an utility that allows to store several Extended Basic programs in the SuperAMS card, or even one huge XB program written in a modular fashion.

    Is there a thread on XBpacker?  This is exactly what I've been interested in doing with the SAMS.  Thanks!

    Found it.
