  1. I have no problem with people MAMEing original classics. As long as they keep the PCB, monitor and don't destroy the side art etc. there's no harm in using the cab for MAME and it's easily reversable back to original condition.
  2. Let's agree that SK takes credit for doing a great deal for the CG community. How much of it he's really responsible for is debatable.
  3. That is why I always refuse offers from people who want to pick up their items in person.
  4. I read that his CV menu multicarts were also defective and were failing. He was grumpy, rude and slow before his new store. I don't think people would mind the slow turn around if they were told in advance it would be a long wait.
  5. I think VB works by the same principle, a one line display in sync with a small, vibrating mirror.
  6. This game was recently programmed and just released late last year as part of a new multi-game hack for a standard Galaxians PCB. Has anyone seen this available for download outside of this multi-kit?
  7. Before, I was amazed. Now you're just starting to frighten me.
  8. That one was never officially released. It'd be nice to get a repro of it though. Patience..
  9. Eh? no.... The Amish don't like to use the telephone, it's a tool of the devil! Hell! what are they doing with a video game in the first palce!! think about it! there are thousands of kids out there, who would marvel at the high tech features of the 2600! (and of course they'd have to get wood grained. (match their barns)) Actually that would be a misconception. Amish simply can't own anything like video games or telephone but they can *use* it. I wouldn't be surprised if an Amish is surfing here and loves to play Atari but don't own them or the computer. I thought they could own it as long as it's powered by propane. Just hook a propane tank up to your GBA.
  10. The "Space Invaders Collection" is what pushed me over the edge into Colecovision ownership! I bought my Colecovision because of the Space Invaders Collection as well. I still don't have that many games for the system, but hopefully I will change that in the future. I can't understand you Atari fans . How can you consider yourselves classic gamers and refuse to own a CV for 22 years? End the non-Atari system hate
  11. I think I only liked it because it was so easy and one of the few games I could really last a long time on one quarter. Most arcade games are too hard and most arcade operators would set them for max difficulty/fewest lives/no bonus lives.
  12. I had an ADAM back in the day and a Jaguar. It would've been cool to have had an A8 or C64 as well with all their loads of software. It could've been a lot worse though. The Jag has/had it's own cool little scene. I don't regret either. I vividly remember how tough it was trying to find ADAM software in computer stores back then. That's why I'll never buy an Apple. I remember looking at the walls and walls of cheap Atari 2600 game carts at TRU and then the small CV/ADAM section they had. Now, after playing a bunch of those 2600 games I realize I wasn't missing out on anything.
  13. The Super DK! version could be classified as a prototype. AFAIK it came from Coleco and isn't some hack done by a user group. Did Coleco have any intentions of releasing this version? We'll never know. I read that Coleco demoed a cart version of Dragon's Lair. That would have to of been a huge(for the time) cart. I haven't been able to find a .dsk file version of ADAM Super DK online either. It's not the only game I can't find. Some others are online but are badly corrupted. There's still some games that have never been converted apparently. I don't believe Coleco ever got around to releasing DK on disk. I've seen boxed versions of the DDP game. Remember this game was quickly yanked from stores soon after it was released after Nintendo threatened to sue. The disk version eColeco sells must be the DDP version converted to disk use. There is a program out there for the PC, to load ADAM games into the pc and convert them to .dsk format. I have it on my pc somewhere. You must need a 5 1/4" floppy drive connected to your PC. I guess the only way you're going to get a .dsk version to use on an emu is to convert it yourself. Or Shortly could convert it for us and then email it to us. How about it Shortly? I was a CV and later an ADAM owner back then and now.
  14. I already explained exactly what I was talking about. I don't care to re-re-re-explain what was in the original post to those who refuse to read/comprehend what it says right there. I pretty much got the cynical response I expected. Just forget I brought it up.
  15. I wasn't talking about making the collectors pay the fees. Fucking forget it.
  16. I never said anything about funding the purchase of machines. I'm only talking about putting machines collectors already own in one central location. I don't know if quarters alone would cover rent and maint/repairs for a private arcade with a limited membership, thus the fee. It may be the only way to do it.
  17. It would be cool if there were local private arcade clubs where classic arcade enthusiasts who don't have the space, the money or electronic tech know-how to service and maintain these games, could pay a membership fee to play these games. Arcade machine owners could highly screen who gets a membership to the club. It would be fans who revere the games as much as the owner and not just riff-raff off the street/kids who can't appreciate the games for what they are and would leave cig burns on them or mis-treat them. It seems like it could be good thing for all involved. Owners could get a fee plus whatever their machine takes in in quarters. Their investment in their classic machines could finally help pay for themselves without having to be put out on location in a bar/bowling alley or public arcade where it would suffer a lot of wear and tear and possible damage. It's a lot better than a bunch of classics gathering dust in some collectors basement or garage that he rarely plays anymore and will just sell of to another collector when he needs to free up some space.

  19. Does anyone know what were all the colors these cabinets came in? I've seen red sparkle, blue sparkle?
  20. I recall looking at a games list and it was made up of mostly popular Amiga games that have already been ported to the Genesis and Jaguar or PC/Mac. Does the cd32 have any really great games that are still exclusive to it, that are worth getting a system for?
  21. I am not so "a mazed". It'll probably just end up being another NES-on-a-chip device with the games reprogrammed to run on it ala the INTV 25 in 1. All the C64 fans will complain about it when it comes out because the sound will be off or music will be missing etc.
  22. Can't handle it liquid_stool? In the words of Sinistar, "RUN COWARD".
