  1. Color is not likely to match, you would need to figure out how to use ohm meter setting to figure which wire goes to which pin to correctly swap the cable over. It may be easier for you to ask for someone who is knowledgeable in electronics to take a look at the controller. Preferably someone local to keep cost of shipping down.
  2. Here's an ultimate challenge: using no arrow hero difficulty without losing a live. This means kiting monster far away to claim boats, axes, quivers, and exit.
  3. When I try to power it up, I get yellow light for a second then flashing red light. Nothing else comes up, no response to disc eject (looks like disc inside?), no picture or sound at all. I can hear the fan running and that's all. Dead? It's a fat PS3, I think the second version as it has 120GB hard drive.
  4. Rule out broken wire first. Check continuity from the button pad to he chip, and from the chip to the cable plug end. If that rules out, assume the chip is fried.
  5. "The more they overthink the plumbing, the easier it is to stop up the drain." No matter how hard they try to stop piracy, it's always a moot point in the end. And what's more, despite the many anti-piracy hacks out there, sales of movie and games doesn't seems affected. Maybe if they just skipped anti-piracy and just relied on that old FBI warning and penalties when someone is caught producing or selling illegal copies. I would think most of the "free" movies and games people get are from 5-finger discount at stores and not from cracked copy or download. I bet Sony still hasn't gotten over the black eye from the 99-cents marker hack on their multi-million dollars CD protection.
  6. Lynx LCD were propriety Citizen brand LCD, and nothing have been found to be a drop in replacement. Your best bet is one of those LCD mod that converts Lynx video data to standard video out and use a new LCD off eBay or something. Modern 3" composite LCD is far better looking than 15 year old oddball propriety LCD.
  7. Would love to have a mod for my Lynx. My display looks old and seems duller than what I remembered when I first got my Lynx almost 20 years ago. Also I would like Game Gear if it can resolve one minor issue the analog RGB couldn't fix. The standard video output couldn't switch size between GG mode and SMS mode so GG had large black border around. The internal LCD driver handled the 2 different video size to display GG at full resolution and SMS scaled down to fit. This meant if you took the stock LCD out and plopped in a new LCD, you're stuck with GG screen about half the original size. If I could play both SMS and GG onto a brand new composite LCD (3" LCD almost never comes with anything better than composite anyway) and can scale resolution between GG and SMS mode, it would be wonderful.
  8. Once spotted an obvious used dildo, I quietly threw it in the trash just to spare other people and the idiot employee who didn't know what it was. Found a Space Invader handheld by Entex, the battery compartment was full of brown gunk. Like the battery were left in for 30 years and went way past corrosion stage and turned to melted mush. And when I cleaned out an XBox I got a few years ago I found a bag filled with what looked like decades old rubbed sage that smelled awful. Might have been forgotten marijuana stash. A skeleton of a mouse in a computer. I've also had some dead bugs but they generally don't bother me. It's only when it's alive and is immune to a can of RAID. Nothing as bad as some of what you saw.
  9. Goodwill had PSOne with DS controller for $7, no power supply but it worked when I checked at home so it's good spare. Some of you may be hating me for this find but Meijer was having a store wide half-off any clearance sale merchandise except for clearance sale Apple products. The one by me also happened to have Colecovision systems on clearance sale for $30 so I paid only $15 after the half off sale. Left behind 1 other CV system that was opened and missing controllers. I didn't find any other flashback systems. I also checked other nearby Meijer and they didn't have any.
  10. And does it work with 100% of 2600 games (all the old ones, from before Atari went under, not the newer homemade games or flash carts) or are there a few touchy games that fails? There are only a few 7800 games I really like but I prefer 2600 overall. If there's some issues with 2600 games I may sell the 7800 for a 2600 console instead. TIA
