  1. in video game Hell it'd be an rpg, and you only have one inventory slot. you'd have to swap it to fight something, collect a treasure, then every time you would have to go all the way across the continent to store your one item.

Sounds like an adventure game. Oh wait there is a game called Adventure where you can carry only one item!

  2. eBay UK has global shipping program. If the seller is willing to add that, GSP can ship almost anywhere on buyer's expense. The only issue is you have a small risk you'd could end up receiving just the cart and not complete set. I shipped a $400 Virtualboy CIB game to someone via GSP, he got the cart only. GSP refunded fully without hitting my pocket and the buyer got to keep the $100 cart to sell.

  3. I love those mugs too, i have one of both of them as well. I'd drink out of them but they're so old I don't want to ruin the things. Also have one other which is a coffee mug style that is from england, looks like this:

Not to mention early glasses used toxic chemical to make print like cadmium for red and lead. IMO I wouldn't drink out of anything made before this century

  4. I'd like to pick this up, see if I can fix the 5200, then sell em working and keep the trackball. Did you have a price in mind? Also where are you located? shipping from outside USA would be deal killer for me if the lot isn't cheap enough.

  5. WTF is up with eBay? Untested and for parts or repair up to $100? Whatever happened to those staying under $25 and working Lynxes being about $50 and up?

Just need one that works, bad LCD is OK since I'll replace with McWill LCD anyway. I have only one good working Lynx and I couldn't get the second one to work anymore. Have Paypal fund ready to pay.

  6. I would like to get SSD3 eventually. Currently I have Duo-R that I bought about 5 years ago very cheap (seller said CD games didn't work right), checked it, found only games requiring System 3 ROM had corrupt graphic, bad trace from CD controller chip to one of the 64k RAM chip, 4 inches of wire it's been working 100%. I also replaced the original 2K BRAM with 32K and added in circuit to switch the 2k blocks so I don't need Tennoko Bank card to shuffle same games. I just press button to change the bank and play a lot of games. 32k BRAM is like having 4x Tennokoe Bank cards at once.

If I got SSD3 I wouldn't need to hunt down rare CD games or grab cheap repro CD when it pops up and I wouldn't need to burn a CD-R for games that are obscenely expensive or unreleased, and not available as repro. CD-R are hit or miss depending on quality of disc and how the CD burner can handle slow burns. Plus CD-R aren't good for really old CD system.

  7. AFAIK the only time 50 vs 60 mattered is the video chip. I am pretty sure the serial port ran at the same timing since none of the disk drive depended on mains frequency at all. (1541-II and 1581 had separate power supply bricks that provided only DC to the drives)

  8. Just a reminder Johnny Harts passed away about 11 years ago so the rights are probably somewhere and somewhat difficult to obtain.

I enjoyed BC back in the day and I even had BC Christmas Special on video tape. When I got the game for my C64, I eventually got good that I could do first 4 levels practically blindfolded. I didn't know of the sequel until after I got internet and tried playing it in emulator but it's rather long and challenging.

  9. Dirty contacts in the connector? Do you have another Lynx system or know someone nearby with a Lynx to test your SD card? "Insert game" message comes up if the Lynx can't detect valid game code at power on.

  10. I used to have MacVision and it worked with System 6 and 7 but it didn't work on all Macintosh. It was fine on a Mac Plus but provided gibberish display on a Centris 610 and Quadra 800 so I suspect serial port speed will be an issue. Later Macintosh had faster serial port. I didn't explore much in this as I sold off MacVision and got Video Spigot Nubus that worked plus captured full color and could capture video, not just still image.

  11. Or dirty pins in the cart connector. 7800 uses 8 extra connector pins that aren't used in 2600 mode. If the console can't detect the pins there or read the code correctly, it assumes 2600 mode by default. 7800 games however will not work in 2600 mode so you'd get blank screen.
