All color CRT uses RGB at the end to control the 3 color guns. If you have access to schematic and have some knowledge, you can find where the composite and separate video are broken apart into 3 individual RGB plus intensity and sync channels. They are usually on the main board, before being connected via wires to CRT board with RGB drivers. Then you should be able to hook up RGB devices directly there, bypassing composite and separate video completely. I don't know of a circuit to handle regular RGB signal to separate syncs and intensity, and it's possible pre-amp is also needed.
You will most likely need to add a switch to separate the inputs if you wish to be able to use composite and S-Video for systems that can't do RGB. Otherwise just disconnect the unneeded video connection and make it permanent RGB monitor.

I wanted to tidy up my messy wire management. One thing that are in the way is the AV switch box. Currently I have 6 Pelican 5-ports switch box, 5 of them wired into one box and allowing me up to 25 systems to a single AV port.
I have looked around and it seems very few were made over 6 ports and virtually none of them has S-Video support. And beyond 8, it seems like I am looking at pricey TV studio type hardware. Does any of you know if there is a switch box with at least 15 inputs. Of all the game consoles and other devices I have, only Intellivision, FB Coleco, and NES doesn't have S-Video support.
Failing that I may have to build a custom switch box. .

I got 2 of em myself. Toss in S-Video to RCA adapter for that separate video ports and it'll work with almost any S-Video devices. Not 100% though as the monitor predated S-Video standard and not everything will play nice with older monitor.
It's too bad the 1702 doesn't support RGB naively without hack or it would be used exclusively with my 128D. I don't like to hack CRT monitor, they can be hard to fix if something goes bad.

eBay Auction -- Item Number: 301426212761
Why does it look like some sap tried to open the console with a pry bar and large screwdriver? The screw holes are all messed and the edges are all messed. OTOH that TZD label is rare although it seems to be missing mid section, I can't tell if it's been cut off or covered in tape.

On the second thought, a newer version of PS3 is less likely to have problems and since I have nice working PSOne and PS2 there's almost no reason to get fat PS3 for BC.

I wouldn't recommend removing it. The black piece is there to keep the cart connector from breaking off if someone pushed in too hard. I have not experienced any trouble with mine, only that 2 CBS games I have won't work because of the firmware block. Physically all cart should fit all Inty models, nothing changed. Only the firmware prevented a few unlicensed cart (and by accident one of their own) from working on Inty2 and wasn't used in Inty3
Take a close look inside the cart shell, maybe there's slight warping that is preventing the cart from clearing the black guard piece? Try inserting the cart while your Inty 2 cover is off to see where the obstruction is.

Forgive me, for I write this post for the sole purpose of claiming post #1701 in this topic. Boldly go!
$19.81 (or $19.80) does sound like a good deal on an INTV FB. I'm personally not inclined to own two, though. Maybe if you cross-bred your INTV FB with a tribble, you would never have to worry about running out. . . .
Quadrotriti-what?

Sneaky Star Trek reference in that post along with that number. I'd love to snap up a spare Intv FB (mostly for extra overlays as well) but the 2 nearby Sam's Club said they don't have it listed in their inventory so either they have it and clearance sale are not listed, they didn't spell flashback right, or they are out.

Guess I'll keep it for spare parts when I come across another PS3 that works. Fan, power supply, some components, and hard drive can be exchanged. BD drive seems to be tricky as the drive board seems to be married to PS3's mainboard.

Say for a custom made handheld system or something? With the VGA mod available I thought about converting one of my spare Lynx into a console with separate controller, probably a SMS controller for basic 2 button design. The problem is I don't have any experience in plastic forming and paying someone to do a one time shell won't be cheap.
Also how about turning NES deck into one resembling Atari 2600? To poke at when Nintendo wanted Atari to distribute NES in USA. Faux wood grain, 2 switch, no power LED, and 100-feet long RF cable.

Color is not likely to match, you would need to figure out how to use ohm meter setting to figure which wire goes to which pin to correctly swap the cable over. It may be easier for you to ask for someone who is knowledgeable in electronics to take a look at the controller. Preferably someone local to keep cost of shipping down.

Here's an ultimate challenge: using no arrow hero difficulty without losing a live. This means kiting monster far away to claim boats, axes, quivers, and exit.

When I try to power it up, I get yellow light for a second then flashing red light. Nothing else comes up, no response to disc eject (looks like disc inside?), no picture or sound at all. I can hear the fan running and that's all.
Dead? It's a fat PS3, I think the second version as it has 120GB hard drive.

Rule out broken wire first. Check continuity from the button pad to he chip, and from the chip to the cable plug end. If that rules out, assume the chip is fried.

Unfortunately, BD won because it had stronger anti-piracy @_@
...which, in the long run, didn't mean jack squat.
"The more they overthink the plumbing, the easier it is to stop up the drain."
No matter how hard they try to stop piracy, it's always a moot point in the end. And what's more, despite the many anti-piracy hacks out there, sales of movie and games doesn't seems affected. Maybe if they just skipped anti-piracy and just relied on that old FBI warning and penalties when someone is caught producing or selling illegal copies. I would think most of the "free" movies and games people get are from 5-finger discount at stores and not from cracked copy or download.
I bet Sony still hasn't gotten over the black eye from the 99-cents marker hack on their multi-million dollars CD protection.

Lynx LCD were propriety Citizen brand LCD, and nothing have been found to be a drop in replacement. Your best bet is one of those LCD mod that converts Lynx video data to standard video out and use a new LCD off eBay or something. Modern 3" composite LCD is far better looking than 15 year old oddball propriety LCD.

Would love to have a mod for my Lynx. My display looks old and seems duller than what I remembered when I first got my Lynx almost 20 years ago.
Also I would like Game Gear if it can resolve one minor issue the analog RGB couldn't fix. The standard video output couldn't switch size between GG mode and SMS mode so GG had large black border around. The internal LCD driver handled the 2 different video size to display GG at full resolution and SMS scaled down to fit. This meant if you took the stock LCD out and plopped in a new LCD, you're stuck with GG screen about half the original size. If I could play both SMS and GG onto a brand new composite LCD (3" LCD almost never comes with anything better than composite anyway) and can scale resolution between GG and SMS mode, it would be wonderful.

Once spotted an obvious used dildo, I quietly threw it in the trash just to spare other people and the idiot employee who didn't know what it was.
Found a Space Invader handheld by Entex, the battery compartment was full of brown gunk. Like the battery were left in for 30 years and went way past corrosion stage and turned to melted mush. And when I cleaned out an XBox I got a few years ago I found a bag filled with what looked like decades old rubbed sage that smelled awful. Might have been forgotten marijuana stash. A skeleton of a mouse in a computer. I've also had some dead bugs but they generally don't bother me. It's only when it's alive and is immune to a can of RAID.
Nothing as bad as some of what you saw.

Goodwill had PSOne with DS controller for $7, no power supply but it worked when I checked at home so it's good spare.
Some of you may be hating me for this find but Meijer was having a store wide half-off any clearance sale merchandise except for clearance sale Apple products. The one by me also happened to have Colecovision systems on clearance sale for $30 so I paid only $15 after the half off sale. Left behind 1 other CV system that was opened and missing controllers. I didn't find any other flashback systems. I also checked other nearby Meijer and they didn't have any.

And does it work with 100% of 2600 games (all the old ones, from before Atari went under, not the newer homemade games or flash carts) or are there a few touchy games that fails?
There are only a few 7800 games I really like but I prefer 2600 overall. If there's some issues with 2600 games I may sell the 7800 for a 2600 console instead.
TIA

Very large AV switch box?

That 8 port box doesn't have S-Video :/
