Up for trade? I have Atari Video Cube manual. I'll look in my atari manual box for the others.

I looked. I don't have any 5200 manuals, sorry.

I mostly agree, but I think Atari does suffer a bit from a lack of recognizable symbols besides the logo.
Atari doesn’t suffer a bit from lack of characters/symbols. Atari was an era when gaming was about neon lights and new wave music, basically it’s own thing.it was a time before cartoon mascots and an endless line of me too platformers.

Wow. Nice grab for someone.. I had one of these briefly till I plugged a Colecovision power supply into it and fried it to death.

if there can be some indicator that it’s 2600+ compatible?

Called it! guess I wasn’t kidding..

Plus why not an alliance with Al/AtariAge to provide even more new cart options to 2600+ buyers?
Oh boy. Now he’s gotta design 2600+ compatible stickers! Lol just kidding.

the Crash didn't so much affect gamers as much as it did the retailers and publishers.
This 100%! Even though I had computers in the house I still played my Colecovision all the way up until the Genesis release.

Part of my crash influenced experience, not knowing there was a crash: Being at the mall with that giant bin of 2600 games at KB Toys, and mom would let us pick a game out because they were $1-$3.
Second part - 1984, after family got a CoCo 2. "Wow, these games are way better than Atari!"
1986-7: Holy cow the Nintendo is amazing!
Thanks for this post, it gives me a good template to describe my experience back in the day.
I was oblivious to the crash also. I remember purchasing a few Colecovision games in the bargain bins at the mall. All under $5. The one that stands out the most was Pepper 2.
2nd part. After I saved up enough cash my father matched dollar for dollar so I can get a new 800 XL. My same reaction, wow so much better then my old consoles.
1986—87 Holy cow my new Atari ST is amazing!
For me it wasn’t ET or Pac-Man that killed gaming for me. It was the upgrade to the new computers.

I’m curious as to what 70 games are reviewed. Anyone have a list?

Darn I missed out on my new favorite jag game. My own fault.. I played a game of Biopede for the heck of it, scored 17,410 on advanced setting. Such a great game.. control, graphics and music.

AtariAge + Atari Q&A
in Atari General
Posted
Yeah, I get that. Atari in my mind is about simple games that are fun. No mascots required.
