Just curious if anyone has heard about a time estimate for an announcement of winning entries?

Thanks everybody... I really didn't think my knight would get that much attention... he was the last thing I submitted, on the last day of the competition, and I finished him in less than an hour... I wasn't even going to submit it. I'm glad I did now. I also sent along a picture of a few variations for his shield and pretty much gave Ron carte blanche to do what he wanted with it (I've included a pic here so you guys can see some of the options). My earlier submissions were the ones I took way too much time on... like the square-headed guy and the shiny shield (I've included a variation on that as well). Some other icons I liked, that don't fit into any category, are Ben Langberg's first helmet design, Daryl Litts' little guys (especially the ones brandishing swords), Randy Ball's submissions (all of them cool, but some of them downright weird), and Sean Ohlson's knight. I tried to make a forward facing character with a shield as well and it was a total nightmare to get it looking passable... so Sean gets props for making it work so well. 926693[/snapback] Thanks, I tried to keep my little dudes lo-res so the icon would be more maneuverable in the game. I didn't make animations of any of them; although if one is chosen I'm hoping the small size will allow for it in the programming (I also left the color nondescript so that if any are chosen, a color can be decided). My favorites are Juston and Jacob's Knights.

Don't feel guilty. Your comment is relevant and justified. Actually, I also got the same impression. I consider myself a person with a sense of humor and didn't particularly appreciate the comment. I'm no flag-waving Bush enthusiast or blindfolded patriot; I just found it to be a jarringly rude conclusion to an otherwise informative article.

I have a friend with a dilemma, and told him I'd post his question here in hopes that some fellow gamers might know the solution. He's trying to get info from his Atari ST to an old Mac. I know they ran on similar processors, but how compatible are they really? Here's the question he asked: "I have a 20 MB external SCSI HD and it still works, but I want the data from it. Is this possible? I have an office network in my home but no nic in the Atari. I have a Mac Power PC 7300/200 on my lan which has a SCSI port but it doesn't match the port on my AT. Otherwise have couple of Unix boxes and 4 Windoz boxes, all X86 based. Is there a SCSI adapter that'll go from the AT to the Mac? Or from the AT to USB on one of my PC's? Is this a huge big deal, or not?" Any help would be appreciated, and if any equipment or software is required, all info is greatly appreciated. Thanks guys & gals! Daryl

Can anyone PLEASE help? I came across an old Mac LC 575. I screwed up the system files and it won't start up now. I think I need to reformat the hard disk and reinstall an OS (between system 7.1 [min] and 8.1 [max]. I'd prefer to get original disks but any help would be appreciated. I do have some stuff I could trade in terms of video games. Thanx!

I just paid a guy on eBay for Atari Karts and a few other games because he said he'd take offers outside of eBay. He originally had an offer for $300 for all of his stuff but I gave him $30 for Karts and $35 for some other games. He agreed and then I paid, but now he says the original guy said he wants the games I just bought. And this is after another AtariAge member already gypped me in a similar way on Karts! I really hope this doesn't turn sour...and I REALLY hope the game comes so I can try it out for myself! Argh, why can't I just get a straight deal?! Later, Daryl

Was there a difference in the games? Will I be able to play the game on a US system? Also, what about Jaguar? Is there any difference in the compatibility between US and European games/systems? I realize this message should be in the marketplace forum, but I'm really trying hard to find an affordable boxed copy of Atari Karts for Jaguar. It doesn't have to be mint or sealed, just in good condition. I have already been offered a boxed copy that had dented sides and I paid $30 for it (that's about my limit) with PayPal. Unfortunately the seller decided to refund my $ without reason and I have yet to obtain it. My girlfriend and I are obsessed with Mario Kart 64, but we've been looking for an alternative and I figured it was time to add this game to my Jag library without spending $70 or more to get it new. I also have systems and games for trade. I have NES, PlayStation, Atari, Sears, SNES (old and new models), and Sega Genesis.
