The problem is the rise in retro prices, at least in Spain, people ask for a lot of money for anything old
II paid when it went on sale $40, I understand that now they ask for more money, but this is abusive
Are you Spanish too? It's hard to find Spaniards collecting Lynx 😀
I'm not Spanish but I live here. Valencia specifically (you?)
I have learned here that they ask for high amount when selling, offer half when buying lol.

Yeah, that's ridiculous.
I have the game and I maybe paid MAX a 10th of that and it wasn't all that long ago.

I usually don't like to see and hear myself, but I think it is worth to share.
The AFJV ("French association of video games", that include all actors in french videogaming from small indies studios to very big publishers like Ubi Soft, including small homebrew studios & publishers) just shared an interview I made with them during the Gamers Assembly in Poitiers last year.
Of course, this is in french, but if you even wanted to know how hold I am or how bad my accent is when I say the names of my games; here is the link:
Frédéric Descharmes de Yastuna Games, développeur et éditeur home-brew (afjv.com)
Nice one! Great to put a face to the name even if I didn't understand much

Not sure without seeing a photo, but from your description I wonder if the "brown" is just the grey, but aged?
I've got a couple of tattier old ones and they seem to fade from grey to something you might describe as brown.
Without seeing what you're talking about though I might be entirely wrong of course lol.

I also had Tournament Cyberball back in the day and as much as I played it and started to get good, I am not a huge fan. Also wasn't into Robotron 2084 (which I also had). It's not a bad game I guess, but I never played the arcade and it wasn't my preferred genre.
Oh and Basketbrawl can do one too...

Do you mean... it only turns on (when pressing the button) if a game is inserted? If so, this is how it is meant to be.
Or... do you mean you insert a game and it turns itself on without you pressing the on button? Like, it just powers itself up when you put a game in? If so, guessing the on button might be making permanent contact or something, so maybe open the Lynx up and gently clean around that area of the board.

Will watch this thread for pre-orders opening. But Would love to get in on this!

I can confirm there's no regional difference. My collection contains games from Japan, the US and Europe and they all work on all my (many) Lynxes.

Nice find, and thanks for sharing!

Just gave this a spin on RetroPie, looks great! Definite Chip's Challenge vibes (which is a very good thing).
Looking forward to moving this over to my flashcart.

Same, I'd love a cart (and digital)

This looks incredible. I already cannot wait... but as a Lynx fan, I, of course, know how long these things take. Just know that we're all going to be lining up for this one.

Failing that... could try giving the contacts a clean with pencil eraser or similar.

Let's get the obvious thing out the way... I'm sure you didn't, cos you'll have realised from the other carts... but make sure you're putting the game in with the sticker facing inward (ie, not visible when in the lynx)?
I only say this, as those flat carts are the only ones where you can do this, and I sold some on eBay once, and the person complained that they didn't work. When he sent me a video to prove it, I could see that he had put them in the wrong way round!

Anyone in the states receive theres yet?
Mine arrived on Friday, I'm in the bay area.

I am still interested, in case my original vote got lost!

Feels like underselling the tech in the Lynx a bit? Maybe the 7800P or Whateverwouldhavebeenbetweenthe7800andPanther-P?
-
Man this brings back memories (I also used to work for Argos many moons ago
).I had similar lustful moments over magazine adverts for months before I got mine. Just poring over the list of games and imagining them would ramp up my excitement. I guess it's a lost art now, with the internet, but do hope that somehow kids these days get to use their imagination this way and experience the joy of waiting for something they really want.

My Atari Lynx collection

Amazing collection! You have a few things that I don't!
And I agree, as someone that lives in Spain (Valencia), it's not a common system to find games for locally.
