  1. My sister was thoroughly upset upon viewing the winning entry. Her exact IM was Selica2000: That is just plain ugly I think I laughed harder than ever on that note.
  2. Getting those scores is insane. My high score remains at 732,450 points. I have yet to beat it, although I play my Jags about once a month now. Anyway
  3. Ha! Great idea... EXCEPT, how many people actually own a label machine? Just thought I would throw two cents in. As for Illustrator. Welcome again to an overpriced Adobe product. In any case, I used PhotoImpact 7, which I only paid $100 for (and got Cool 360 and Photo Explorer free) sweet deal, man. -Wes "You must have fallen from heaven, baby. That would explain what messed up your face" - Weird Al
  4. Just would like to say first, a congrats to matt bowman. I am just so surprised no one picked my labels as favourites. I did not even use that overpriced Photoshop program. I was rated best by everyone I showed it too, even people I did not really like too much (acquaintences). PLUS, I had each systems controller... oh well, just kind of upset bout that. Oh, and by the way, dont even bother saying "whine whine" or whatever. I realise I am whining a little, thank you very much. -Wes
  5. As for a power supply at a decent price, check out Best Electronics. Though they do not advertise it on their site, they probably can hook you up with a power supply for the 7800. An email link is on the page, where you can ask. I have gone to them for many parts not listed and been surprised to receive a response and a "Yes, we have that" from them on most all requests. http://www.best-electronics-ca.com/7800.htm -Wes
  6. Anyway, my votes for best games on the 7800 (my fav Atari machine, still) Joust - 2 player or solitary, man this game is a BLAST! One of THE best and most playable ports ever (Lynx version is darn good, too) Dig Dug - A very faithful translation and frustrating into the later levels (but very fun, still). Will always hold this game dear Galaga - Love the bonus music upon getting all 40 bugs. Listen to that magnificently produced pseudo stereo surround sound! (I might be going overboard, but I really love this game) Ace of Aces - A tough game, but I remember playing this non-stop for hours when I first got my 7800 (and laughed at all the NES owners with their excessively ugly, boxy clunker) Food Fight - Never played this game til I bought it for this system. Now, I can't seem to stop.... Addictive and fun! -Wes
  7. From information via snail mail straight from Atari and Virtuality (I have long since lost these letters): I remember reading that Mad Dog Mcree was to use the Virtuality VR headset. It was one of the games to be released at time of VR launch or soon after. The format was CD. A few other games were in the works (, as well, that were not immediately known to the public. (Durn my memory for not being photographic... ah well). There were no official plans to make a light gun, however, a mention in some magazine noted that a small game and accessories company was in contact with Atari to produce such a device. Hope this helps anyone who is curious. Sorry I can not remember more or provide the documents sent to me. -Wes
  8. Very good answer indeed. I have friends who are befuddled as to why I bought 7 dead Lynx IIs (still have not seen hardly any dead Lynx Is) to repair them. I tell them it would give me great joy to resurrect these little machines that are sooo cool, even after we have the SNK NGPC and GBA. They are definitely a part of history and fond memories to all who are attempting the task, most likely. I would like to think that I would be bringing back to "life" (or working order, as it IS a machine) a friend, a major stress reliever and, well, a darn fine peice of hardware. Peace to all and thanks for the info here, though I may have more problems than that with these babies! -Wes
  9. Matthew Bowman's is nice, and one of my favs, other than my own designs, of course. A definite thumbs-up to Jamie McClain's entry. Very nice and stylish. I am wondering how many other of the entrants used their own pictures of the controllers, etc when designing these (like I did, of course!). -Wes
