  1. Mika73, Dip switch carts are much easier to build than Menu driven ones, and a lot cheaper too (I know as I've seen the parts list for mine and the Game Selector — a lot different). I prefer Menu myself, but take what I can get for various systems I'm into.
  2. Bit N Bytes for the Vectrex

Well, hello there! Long time no see!

It may seem long, but not that long. Celery is going to finally come out soon too, May if I can help it!

  3. Game is a bit on the back burner (due to non-gaming related issues), but it is pretty much done (code part). Artwork needs to be created (being worked on). The game is being demoed at the Midwest Gaming Classic this coming weekend April 8-9th, via Packrat Video Games, LLC., for those wising to see it 'live'.
  4. I don't pop into AA as often as I should, but this is right up my alley. Got my Odyssey2 back in the day (don't remember the year, but I know it was the year UFO came out — '81 I'm guessing). My dad bought me the system after the Atari 2600 he bought me died within 24 hours (kind of glad that happened, or I would have not gotten the O2). One good memory of the system was playing some games with my 'late' sister. She kicked butt at Acrobats and she totally enjoyed Pick Axe Pete too. And of course, as mentioned above, getting UFO and having my friend with a 2600 thinking how much better it was that 2600 Asteroids (I think they both have merit, but one is better). As for Type and Tell, I honestly haven't used it in years, so I can't respond to the third question (SOR REE). As for me, 'ozyr' on AA and on the O2/VP forum too (David in the so-called real world — and Packrat in the business world).
  5. As has been pointed out, using the hollow end of something like a 'click' pen works great for moving the switches (I use a pen all the time). This causes little wear, and the switches should last a long time. (As for the Packrat backlog, it is still about 6 months at this time, but I plan to try to shrink that soon).
  6. I really should pop on AA more than I do. (Nice to see a few friends putting in good comments for me - thank you). As for the original post, as of November 2016, I am still behind on O2 Multi-cart orders in general. At this time, I'm at least a few months behind on the Multi orders (orders from earlier this year are done). Many reasons for this, but it is what it is (the reasons are personal, and I won't detail them here). All orders will be filled, in time... As for the label comment, good quality IMHO. Old Packrat used a different printer, so the printing was slightly raised. Labels I print are not raised in any way. Reply time to emails, anywhere from a few days to weeks, depending on what is going on in my life. As a few pointed out here, Packrat is not my full-time job (I wish it was, but I don't make near enough money with it). I reply when I can. Sorry if it seams slow at time, but can honestly say I am quicker than the prior owner (not that he was bad in anyway, but he was veeeery slow at replies. Just how it was and is). Neo, turns out we connected on FB, as the old email list I got from the prior owner was not 100% up to par. Hope that clears some things up. Better late than never. So put simply, Packrat Is In Business, and will be for a long time. Thank you, David 'Packrat' Flemming
  7. Looking forward to whenever this comes out (and by posting, now on the 'lottery'.
  8. I'm super strapped for $$$, but honesty, count me in too. I'll figure something out!
  9. Old topic, but noting that soon, game will be available in physical form again via Packrat Video Games, LLC. Separate announcement soon.
  10. Surprised he can't get these from Sean. I got another batch earlier this year from Sean (April), but I got the impression that Sean was running a bit low on the shells. Don't like saying it too loudly here, but I think I bought the majority of his last batch, as Packrat has been selling so many Vectrex games since last Fall. I ran out of the first batch I bought in just 6 months, and it was supposed to last 3 years! I'd still be interested in these, especially translucent shells. Depending on price, I would possibly be interested in a batch (but not 1,000 at this point in time — maybe in the next 6 months or so though).
  11. Future reference - there are a few updated versions of this game hopefully coming out in 2015, from three separate publishers. More to come when more details can be given out!
  12. As for an O2/VP homebrew list, one does exists, and has been updated all the time for some years now. It is on the O2/VP forum, at http://videopac.nl/forum/index.php?board=38.0 (release list there, upcoming list, and more). -Dave 'Packrat' Flemming
  13. Update to original post: As of January 17th, 2015, Packrat now how the following batch of three games available for sale for the Vectrex from the old CGC stock (in addition to the four listed at top): Vectopia, Nebula Commander, and V-Frogger.
  14. Thank you! That video you posted is a traffic related set of two games made in Europe back in the day, as an educational game for teaching children has to cross a street properly and safely. Somewhat rare actually. As for Chris's games, I've liked all of them, to various degrees (as with any game author who makes multiple games)!
  15. It has been 7 years since Packrat put out a new Odyssey2 / Videopac game, and that finally changes very soon. As of December, 20, 2014 (the last day of Fall 2014, as promised), Packrat Video games, LLC is proud to announce a new game for the O2/VP system. Traffic!, by Chris Read! "Help the chickens traverse a freeway with high-speed traffic, getting as many of them as you can to the other side. The chickens are counting on you to guide them, as many as you can before time runs out - or a chicken becomes roadkill! Traffic is a fast-paced game, which includes plenty of fast action, and ‘enhanced Videopac+’ graphics for those systems that support it." It has been a long walk forward, but it is finally here, done in Odyssey2 style, but with support for ‘+’ graphics on systems that support such (such as the G7400). The game officially released as on the 20th of December, but with the family issues I’ve had recently, this new game release will start a bit differently. By the 20th, the game will be available for order, but most orders will not start shipping till the beginning of January, 2015 at the latest. Just how it has to be this time. Traffic! games will be built as quickly as they can, using new PCBs, and new EPROM chips (we recycle the old boards via a recycle program), with reused game cases of course. Traffic as stated will come with an Odyssey2 manual, along with an index card for standard VP cases. Traffic! will be available for the reasonable price of $20, plus shipping. This game will be released, as normal with most Packrat games, with unlimited avalability (it will sell for as long as Packrat remains up and running). No limited release! More info this week as the final details of the game are made ready. Information on the game is on the Packrat site - http://www.packratvg.com/traffic.html (information will be added and hopefully update more by the 20th - for now it is rather blank). Thank you for all those that have waited through the many delays. Special thanks to Chris Read for being so patient with this release. René for his help with the high score code. Rafael Cardoso for the Plus graphics. Earl Green for doing the cover art, Jeff Koss, Rene, and myself for play testing, and for all the support here on the forum!
  16. As of November 19th, Vecmania is for sale again via Packrat. Thrust will be available by Sunday November 23rd. After that, I'll be much more busy with family issues, as noted on the Packrat website. Not sure when I'll get more of the 21 games for the Vectrex out that John sold (four for now isn't bad). More likely early 2015 for the rest, but only time will tell.
  17. Just a bump on this, and an extra note — I can now use VP shells for anyone that has extras. Thank you!
  18. This is still for sale at http://www.kristofsnewvectrexgames.comli.com/vectorpilot.htm
  19. Very quick introduction (again): David 'Ozyr' Flemming, the owner of Packrat Video Games, LLC. For those who don’t already know — the change from the old Packrat happened during late 2012 into 2013. It was announced here earlier this year that Packrat would be taking over production of Vectrex games that John Dondzila was selling on his Website (Packrat has a contract with John to do such). The process has been slow, hampered by family health issues (myself, mother, and now my sister too), but progress moves on. Things are still moving ahead, and as of today, Gravitrex and Protector / YASI are once for sale again through Packrat (www.packratvg.com). More Vectrex games will be added as there is time to do so. So, Packrat is getting there, step by step. (Please note - at this time due to the family issues mentioned, order are still being done, but there will be small delays in email replies, and some delays in shipping — not big delays, but shipping won't happen super quick — thanks for your understanding in this). Rest assured, all of John's games and VectrexCarts game too will be be for sale again soon. This will happen during the end of 2014 and into early 2015. Thank you to any and all Packrat fans out there! Packrat Video Games, LLC is proud to becoming a member of the Vectrex community (Personally have three units, and a good amount of Homebrews that I bought over the years for the Vectrex — outstanding system)!
  20. In a bit of a financial pinch right now, but when I can, I will contact you regarding an order of the new PCBs.
  21. Details are still being worked on for all Vectrex games, but VeCaves / SpikesSpree has joined the list of upcoming re-released games through Packrat!
  22. Prices are not known at this time, but will probably be going up a bit. Can't really tell till Packrat is a lot closer to production. Can say that Packrat will try to keep prices as low as possible. As for snap cases, if you are talking about the VHS sized ones, the answer is no. Instead, Packrat is switching to the Universal Game cases, the plastic ones. Similar to what Dondzila offered years ago. These are preferred now, as the VHS boxes are becoming harder to find, and more costly — and I still want to keep cost as low as Packrat can, thus the change.
  23. Just a quick update here. Vectrexcarts . com games will be part of the lineup later this year. As for 'cartridge building service,' that will be in place as well. Just a matter of time now.
  24. The high score function in O2 games is not cool, it makes the game better. It was done in all the later O2 games back in the day, and honestly, it makes keeping track of your high score in a series of games that much easier (otherwise they would not have bother doing it in the first place). 2600 games don't always have it, and frankly, that is their loss. Keep doing it, as it 'adds' to the game value.
