@solo/ng did you think about making original characters and not using the MK title in case you run into legal issues? It would be cool to see an original fighting game on the Lynx and I guess you can reuse the same engine.

If need be I'd rather see it officially licensed for a small production run

We are most definitely not "closing." We have simply ceased publishing. We will be continuing to develop games, however. It's clearly written in the link you provided.

Our latest freeware game is Tough Guy, a fighting game for Windows. Check it out.

As for Zaku, it was already out of print. We produced & sold 1,000 copies in total. Quite impressive for a Lynx game, if I may say so (and I do!). We're satisfied with that, and I think I can speak for Osman/PenguiNet to say he's satisfied with it too.

I'll certainly announce any new games we develop; publishing rights to future commercial titles will be licensed or sold outright to other firms.

Any plans to port a fighter game to the Lynx??? ?

While supplies last, sink your teeth into these Songbird 20th anniversary games at $10-20 off regular prices:
    Jaguar Phase Zero Demo
    Jaguar Protector RESURGENCE CD
Jaguar Soccer Kid + Frog Feast combo
    Jaguar Total Carnage
    Jaguar Towers II
    Lynx CyberVirus
    Lynx Hyperdrome
    Lynx SFX
    Lynx Zaku
Sale prices end 11:59pm CDT on Friday, May 10, 2019. Thanks for looking!

Hey Carl, I'm keen on CyberVirus - do you still offer the discount shipping to Australia???

  4. I'm actually quite confident I could make comlynx works, I found enough code and examples - thanks Carl. What I'm lacking now is time and hardware; even though I have 3 lynxes I'm still missing a couple of things to be able to debug comlynx code. So until it is resolved, I'm focusing on AI and also single player arcade mode.

I think most of us will buy whatever you turn out, whenever it gets done... so looking forward to both releases!

  5. With luck 2019 will yield answers.

    Confession time from myself.

In amongst the many zip files of Atari documentation Scott Stilphen sent me and i converted and shared online or passed onto Atarimania for their WIP Lynx section, we're key documents relating to 2 very high profile Lynx titles.

    Vindicators was 1 of them.

I could of simply posted the documents up and left it at that, but i felt these games deserved a proper investigation.

So they were passed onto a friend of mine and have been used as part of a much bigger lost games project.

All i know at this stage is thanks to the documents, he tracked down the coders and conducted lengthy Skype interviews with them.

I've not seen the transcripts or write ups based on them myself.

But he has researched and documented countless lost games over the years and recovered many titles once believed lost.

I'm eagerly awaiting the official annoucement of his project and hope people understand why i took the approach i did.

We've waited years for a credible investigation to these titles and a few more months won't hurt.

Very exciting news! I'll look forward to hearing more...

  6. Shipping in general has gotten a lot more expensive over the years. I always charge flat rate shipping with Songbird for all orders, so whether you order 1 game or 10 games, the shipping quote is the same.

Having said that, I just packed a sample Zaku game by itself, and it looks like I can offer a shipping discount if this is the only game you're ordering and you're located outside of North America. For this order only, I can discount the shipping down to $25 instead of $40. This has to be a manual refund, as I don't want to mess with the shipping policies I've already set up within PayPal. So, if you already ordered and you qualify, shoot me a brief email. If you place a new order, mention it in the shipping instructions. I'll take care of it.

As for Champ Rally and other Songbird Lynx games which have been out of stock for 1-2 years or more, I have good news: a new run of carts for almost all of the Songbird titles should be in my hands in October. :)

Sweet, mine's going to Australia by itself - I just sent you an email to see if I qualify for a shipping refund - thanks so much! :-D

  7. Howdy! (See what I did there?)

The Penguin Bros., fiendish 5¼" floppy disk hoarders that they are, don't want Zaku to ship this month.

But, too bad. Because it will.

All pre-ordered copies of Zaku will soon be on their way to y'all, so you can take control of our heroine and, you know, like, beat those penguins up, and stuff. :-D

If you need to update your mailing address, send the current one to me --> contact@superfighter.com <-- and I'll personally reply with a confirmation.

Thanks for your patience, everyone. It's going to be a wicked cool Lynx-centric summer, yo.

    Sweeeeeeeeet!!!!
