  1. I swear I saw a total of $96. I just assumed the exchange rate was horribly skewed against the dollar and I withdrew my purchase without any further investigation. So looking at today's exchange rate of 1.29 dollars per sterling pound I arrive at a price of $77.40. Is shipping additional? That is all I can think of other than the scenario that I misread the invoice. Unfortunately since the Funding window has closed I can't double check which is correct. It would suck if I was in error because I really did want a copy.
  2. Today is the last day to acquire a copy. I really wanted a copy but I just cannot justify spending $96 on a new game.
  3. For a brilliant take on this topic check out Woody Allen's Midnight In Paris.
  4. Do not neglect to search for local furniture manufacturers. It is possible to find decent prices if you choose a less expensive wood plus you can have it made, and stained, to your specifications.
  5. Frank fixed my Colecovision and he pretty much told me he was willing to tackle any repair.
  6. http://classicgamejunkie.com/ If this store isn't too far from you then I recommend you give them a call.
  7. I see Pat and Ian at Too Many Games every year. They spend a lot of time at their tables and are much more accessible than most other youtube "celebrities". I hope Ian's health doesn't prevent him from attending this year as I really enjoyed watching the CU Podcast live recording last year. Ian btw is suffering from Nerve Entanglement Syndrome. Yes Ian has NES.
  8. They (briefly) had a brick and mortar store about a 1/4 mile from my house. Terrific people. The one guy I talked to said he is involved in a podcast. I think it was RF Generation but don't quote me on that.
  9. I recall Activision using a single box for multiple systems but cannot recall which method they used to identify which system the box was for.
  10. Just got my first Colecovision since '84 and it is certainly a lot better system than I remember it to be. Unfortunately I noticed that not all of my carts would load properly with some requiring a flick of the reset switch. Eventually this morphed in to me having to insert, remove, and reinsert the cart 5 or 6 times before it worked. Now my carts will only work if I maintain a constant downward pressure upon the cart while it is inserted which is not possible. Is this malady typical with this system? Is there a way to avoid this from happening? Fortunately the store I purchased it from offers a 1 year warranty so I can return it so I will be able to replace it but I certainly do not wish to have this problem occur in the future.
  11. Sorry if this has been posted but Pat Contri picked up a Neo Geo in the wild on the latest episode of Flea Market Madness.
  12. I saw one on Ebay on Tuesday with a BIN of $200. I was at work when I saw it and couldn't do anything about until I got home and by then it was gone. Not too wounded because of the upcoming Colecovision version being released by Collectorvision. Gotta ask: Were there more than one version of Boulder Dash released for the 5200?
  13. I am not familiar with this company there are some excellent designs available. Not solid wood but veneered MDF if that makes a difference. http://www.venturehorizonstore.com/shop/product-category/media-storage/
  14. Boltz makes steel tv stands for those who like the post industrial look: https://boltz.com/entertainment-furniture/tv-stands-entertainment-centers.html My friend uses these Boltz media stands: https://boltz.com/entertainment-furniture/media-storage.html and https://boltz.com/entertainment-furniture/dvd-storage.html For a more organic look Maple Shade Audio sells Amish made media racks: http://shop.mapleshadestore.com/Media-Storage-For-Music-Movies/products/342/
  15. One thing that most people overlook is local furniture manufactures. Choose your color and customize to your liking. Although this option may cost a little more you can cut some of that cost by making pine your wood of choice.
  16. This was mentioned some time ago in the INTV forum so I decided to post it here as it is scheduled for this weekend. It is fairly small compared to Too Many Games but it is not too far away so I might check it out as it is not too far and not too expensive. Here is some guy's video of last year's event.
  17. This years event was the largest yet and is highly recommended for anyone who is into the post crash systems. Personally I am slowly embracing a pre-crash only mentality so I wasn't as enthusiastic as I usually am. There were a only a handful of games in the marketplace that I was interested in and I did pick up a CIB Colecovision Mousetrap for $5.00 which I believe is a decent price. Only saw about 6 Vectrex carts and they were loose and common. What I did do this year that I have never done is attend a couple of panels both featuring Pat Contri. I especially enjoyed attending a live recording of the Completely Unnecessary Podcast with Pat and Ian. To be honest if I wasn't so incredibly close to this event I would probably no longer attend but I must admit that I do enjoy soaking in the geek atmosphere if only for a couple of hours.
  18. That is my special boy Simon. He was acting very cute by sticking his head through the railing in the balcony so I thought that I would snap a cute photo to show the wife. Needless to say the image I captured wasn't quite what I expected but it did provide me with an avatar for the ages. Here is a pic of Simon sans demonic possession:
  19. Just realized that there isn't a thread dedicated to this very fine con which starts today and is going on as I speak. Tomorrow I will make the 15 minute journey to Oaks Pa. to the Philadelphia Convention Center. Part of me wants to return on Sunday to sit in on a live CU Podcast with Pat and Ian but that will mean I will have to purchase another ticket so we'll see how it goes. Anyway here is the website: http://toomanygames.com/ And a video of last year's con made by AA's very own Rob Maerz. https://youtu.be/dv1vaxoREXY
